Beautiful images, everyone can see you have the ultimate patience which is a pre requisite for Macro photography, and you capture the dawn atmosphere perfectly with the dampness in the air.
Many thanks Colin.I'm lucky to know the location very well so certainly dozens of hours recceing both this year and previous years have helped but there's worse places to chill out !! Thanks for watching
Thanks Nigel...strangely that image struck a chord with me so it crept in to the final edit !..it's the one I printed off and stuck on my office wall. Sort of thing they like to sell in John Lewis !!
Many thanks Vikki...part of the new direction on my videos is to try and highlight the beauty of our countryside but also put a conservation message in there where it makes sense.....it needs protecting !! I think everyone would benefit from taking a bit of time "to stand and stare " !!
Wonderful, video, Nigel! I love seeing such a beautiful day there in Kent. You really got some lovely images and your tip about staying in the same place and waiting for the light is certainly a good one. Looking forward to your Blue Bell video, thanks so much!
Many thanks Bob. Glad you enjoyed it. Bluebell video final bits on hold as today its gusting at 50-55mph and we are expecting a month's rain in one day !!! Hope you are keeping well
Hi Nigel, I really enjoyed your film and loved the close up images. The top down shot worked really nicely too. I'm also Kent based and have just put out a bluebell vlog myself. Subbed to your channel.
Well done. I've seen masses of your flowers before, but everyone else ignores individual flowers. I have a 180mm Sigma macro lens, it's a ripper for this work.
Thanks..yup that Sigma is a great lens..works really well on butterflies..I love the 105mm but i think 150-200 is probably the best focal length for macro (despite the even smaller depth of field!..I borrowed a mate's Nikon 200mm macro not long ago and loved the extra reach)..thanks for commenting n watching
Mate, your B roll is what my kids would call"sick" ( it means very good). Some great images there too, it's hard to pick a winner. Any chance of giving out more details on your tripod, model number if you have it to hand please?
Many thanks Martin. With teenagers myself I'm hearing "sick", "dope" and "stocked" more times than I thought I might so thanks !! :-) Re the tripod it's a Manfrotto 055MF4 and I've put a Markins M10 head on it. (I use a Gitzo for my wildlife stuff ) Tripod I'm sure is discontinued now but probably quite a good secondhand buy. It's taken plenty of abuse over the years. Massively improved when I put the combination spiked/rubber feet (available still from Manfrotto) on it as the original glued on square plastic ones were useless. . Re the ballhead, if you like ballheads rather than pan/tilt the Markins has been excellent . Hope that helps, thanks for watching and commenting.
Great! Longing for springtime! Take care
Stunning shots
Fantastic open images and beautiful place. Love the Green Woodpecker and time lapse flowers 🌼👍😊
Thanks Jorge. It was fun (but a bit time consuming !) to get the B roll but very enjoyable. Thanks for watching.
but it was worth it, for the images and for the experience :)
Very nice Nigel!
Great video Nigel, so informative and well put together a lot for me to aspire too. Thank you for taking the time and energy to put this together.
Thanks for watching and commenting Geoff. Glad you enjoyed it and hope it gives you a few ideas if you are out in the field in the next few weeks.

Stunning video Nigel. That opening montage of b-roll was superb. My fav image was the top down shot of the flowers. Great stuff!

Brilliant. It's just given me a few ideas for this weekend. Thanks.
Hi Colin . Many thanks. Enjoy your weekend and hope you get some great images. I'm in process of editing Part Two at the moment
Beautiful Nigel. 'Leisure' by W H Davies comes to mind. What a beautiful world we live in!

Lovely Video Nigel and some stunning shots. Picked up a few tips for my next one. Subbed your channel so I can pick up some more!!
Cheers Scott. Glad it helped and there's few better places to be at this time of year. I've subbed yours as well. Good luck with it.
