The german navy wasnt shit anyway and could never have rivaled the brittish. The materials from norway was worth more to the axis than their merchant fleet was to the allies. Out of all the mistakes made in ww2 the invasion of norway wasnt one of them.

So, Germany has two focuses: One to invade the Low Countries, one for Scandinavia. It's programmed, I think, to first attack Norway and Denmark. However, the focus to attack Norway and Denmark requires Germany to control Warsaw (I'm guessing as a failsafe, so Germany doesn't start a war with 3 fronts). This means that Germany will always be unable to invade Scandinavia and will default to invading the Low Countries first.

I remember ExpertAI explaining invading Norway for some reason kill Germany (not being able to efficiently invade ? logistic is shit with most of the country with no railtracks built^^-even if you give AI no attrition, they will still advance so slowly, plus not having a border with Soviet-occupied Finland can be great, only a clean Eastern Europe frontline&Suez Canal) so it got the option for no invasion of Norway.

I'd argue king Haakon should become a national spirit when Norway is in a defensive war. He was a popular king, but his role as a national icon and a symbol of resistance really began during the war.

Hey Feedback, got a nice exploit for you. If you go and look at the new MIO of britain, the aviation one Supermarine, in total the right tree gives 100% air attack for fighters. It seems like someone added a zero to much. Easy way of getting the achievment to shoot down 800 figthers in 1 day. Espcially with all the other fighter bonuses Britain gets

(as any extra %research is useful, and since you don't have much resource anyway... at least you got construction&research bonus ! -and factory output but you might need to buy resource for your factories to make full use of that bonus but you might need those trade factories for construction&market instead)

Haha my monarchist run with norway summarized well in this video. Insane production numbers of guns, arty etc. But no manpower to wield them. And every time I do a minor offensive I lose like 80% of my scarce surplus manpower. Should have gone for field hospitals i guess.

I hope Germany gets a new Focus Tree, because the current one is starting to feel outdated as hell. Heck, Paradox should just make a big DLC to overhaul some of the nations that already got overhauled, and overall the entire Central and South Americas. Germany needs more paths for Fascism, Non-Aligned, Democratic and Communist - and one Communist Path would be inviting Trotsky - which would make Stalin's mustache fall off in terror. As for Monarchy, more options are needed than just going to war, like the colonies Germany lost in WW1 should be possible to purchase from the Allies, and the HRE should be a full branch on it's own. And the Fascist branch should have some options that are shown as a Focus that is 'hidden' but it explains what unlocks it, like Himmler trying to take power as he actually wanted to, but he died before he really got a chance. Though since mods do belong to Paradox, they can just adopt the entire RT56 mod as well, and expand on that massively. Just my random thoughts, though.

Just tried out the alt-historical path. And... it kind of sucks. Does nothing to really fix the economic issues, seemingly no way to remove the Hard Thirties debuff (just temporarily makes it less bad) so you can't go down the Independent Norway path. Sure, it helps with fixing your military a bit faster, but without a decent economy it really feels bad.
As a Norwgian taking denmark is revenge but also takeing sweden "softly" whit guns appeals to me . Defenently gonna do that when i try facist norway or communist norway. I really like the Norwgian focys tree and its actually better than the german one however alittle boring due to historicaly acurate lack of industry, manpower and the lacking will to fight by the norwgian elite before ww2.
