Mr Kitoko your job is always amazing. It seems as if no diagnose is impossible with you. I with you also continue filming conversation with you clients if they are comfortable with that. I also wish if you can also include estimate quotes(parts) costs (not your labour)on the options you gave your clients. From South Africa
I am a new subscriber, and I love watching all of your videos, I've learned a lot. Thank you very much for your effort of sharing your knowledge about engine diagnosis and repairs. Mabuhay!
Thanks for putting out these videos Deo! You can synchronize the diesel cylinder using one of the cheap noise pickups on an injector (especially on mechanical injectors). I bought some from Joes auto electric.
I left my car Mr Deo today his amazing person I feel 💯 comfortable. He got whole package integrity, confidence and kindness. You got to see him to believe it. Thank you 🙏
Huge money ~ 15K+ for a rebuild engine. Certainly worth removing the head and seeing what the valves look like. Check the turbo for destruction too, can send compressor wheel fragments into the engine.
but in this situation can you know this is no timing issue because you have one cylinder compression problem this is valve or piston ring issue because when it was timing issue you had on more cylinder compression problem or and dont forget your our best teacher thank you
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I don't sleep most nights after coming back from work I have to subscribe my data and charge my phone to learn more on your channel
Do you think it would be good to use a Borescope to check the Valves and put a Little Oil in the Cylinder to see if the Compression picks up , (ONLY A SUGGESTION) , I LIKE YOU'R CHANNEL IT'S GREAT THANK YOU
You are the man Deo, very good diagnostic video. Questions if it was a timing issue wouldn't it show on some of the other cylinders? Is each cylinder timed individually? I dont work on diesel was just curious🤔
If you were to remove the valve covers, would that not show you whether the valves were opening and closing or whether there was an issue? What about scoping the inside of the cylinder and turning it over slowly to see what the valves are doing or seeing if they're burnt?
I have the same problem with my car, VW POLO CFWA 1.2 TDI, I have a long crank the only time it starts it’s when I spray starting fluid, replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel sensor and regulator but still. 😢I get p0087 and my fuel pump relay gets hot and I replaced but still. I check the wires with multimeter for continuity or short circuit but nothing. I suspect injectors because every morning it start with a starting fluid and it smooth but once the engine is fully warm I hear knocking and tapping sounds. Help Deo🙏🙏
Hi Deo love the videos. Just a quick question..could you have put cylinder 1 at top dead centre and put a smoke machine down that cylinder to show whether or not you had a valve issue.?
When you initially operated starter motor the cadence was off..I remove injectors and take compression reading on all cylinders then sell tear down cha Ching
Hello my friend I have quick question my dodge sprinter 2500 has one issue when I applied break some time vehicle is stopped it means off completely and I have to start again please tell me what I have to do because I checked no codes after diagnosis thanks
Seems like the injector on cylinder 1 stayed stuck open and over-fueled the cylinder.. which probably burned a hole in the piston! Maybe even cracked it.. so that’s a bummer.. maybe you can try removing injector 1 and insert a small borescope camera into the injector opening and verify.. also, how would you proceed to do a cylinder leak down test?
Get yourself an endoscope or inspection camera then you can remove the injector and locate the problem without disassembling the engine…that can save labor and sometimes a more accurate and quicker diagnosis
I had a 2003 Honda Crv, 175k miles, a beater car with issues on the car. Couldn’t find a good dependable mechanic in my area willing to spend time diagnosing the car, ended up selling it to one of those online sites that buy cars.
Do you not have an inspection camera? You could’ve at least looked in the cylinder for damaged valves or cylinder scoring. That’s way easier than having to tear the whole engine apart
Hey, Bro you were 🤞 lucky you put the leads on cylinder 1 and the Spyke were right there..what if you put them on any other injectors how would you tell cylinder 1 was fault. next time you need to educate us on that.. please 🙏
You right about pay for diagnosis, but you need to find a porfessional and honest mechanic first,and thay the problem, because most of shops just trought parts on the car.
203,000 miles on an MB diesel is LOW miles! I have had 16 MB diesels (1975-1985-turbo/non-turbo). The lowest mileage one had 385,000 mls when I sold it. The highest mileage had 425,000. All were running perfectly when I sold them. MB has plummeted in building reliable products! If I was the owner of this Sprinter, I would be furious (if the engine had been maintained)! Is this the lowest mileage MB diesel you have seen that needs a replacement engine?
I'm just a student, I'm learning many things from you
@TatendaDhulau Good, You're welcome
Impressed because along the route through your diagnosis you are still explaining and teaching in layman terms 👍👍👍

Very interesting video.Would be good to see the engine strip down to reveal the cause of the low compression.Thanks👍.
@richardjones3112 Thanks, we might have to take the engine apart in the future
Awesome diagnosis
As always

Great impression of the crank test.😊👌👌👌
@drdeth1966 Lol
Looking forward to a follow up video to find out what caused the loss of compression. Hopefully, it's not a hole in the piston.
@williamwhite9767 I will make a follow up video after the customer decides what way to go!

Do you ever do a leakdown test on diesel engines? Maybe to try and pinpoint if it is a valve or piston problem
@mechtechtools77 Yes!

@JOMaMa.. Cool
Can't you put a scope down in cylinder 1 and see if that Pistons moving at all or if it's damaged
@topnews1007 that can be done!
Hello my friend I have quick question my dodge sprinter 2500 has one issue when I applied break some time vehicle is stopped it means off completely and I have to start again please tell me what I have to do because I checked no codes after diagnosis thanks
@HabeebKhan-h8r it's hard for me to tell, your sprinter needs to be diagnosed, fuel starvation maybe, how does it drive?
Can you do a cylinder leak down test on a diesel?
@kevinarmknecht1075 yes you can with the right adapters
i would have thought 200k miles on a sprinter was still low miles enough to repair instead of replace - is tearing it down that labor intensive?
@ManWander Yes! butt we can do it if the customer decides to go that route

Do the manual compression test. Engine may a just valve adjustment.
