The Customer brought it to our shop for a Second Opinion! Was the Dealer right or were they wrong? Let's find out! I hope you enjoy the video! #sprintervan #sprintervans #mercedes
Hi Deo, Here are 2 main reasons your TH-cam channel is doing well: one is your mechanical knowledge, and the other is your trustworthiness. Those Sonny cameras are great, but you'll also need a GoPro camera to shoot videos when your camera partner isn't around. Also, break longer videos into multiple parts.
Deo my man. Keep up the great work. Honest mechanics are hard to find.
@abitofeverything1234 Thank you! I appreciate your feedback, we will mix it up, there will be long videos and short videos in the future,
@jcmx0180 Thank you!
Good day sir , I am a regular viewer of your channel, all the way from Grenada in the Caribbean . First I must say ho😊w much I appreciate your honesty and transparency towards your customers , Please keep up the good work honesty is the best of policy
@francisbalwant5545 Thank you, I appreciate you
I very appreciate your truthness to your customers. You also educate them what to expect in each and every option you give. I wish all technians around the world would be like you. From South Africa
@wsnxumalo6707 Thank you!
This channel reminds me more and more of South Main Auto. You know you have a solid following when people drive their vehicles from many states away to come to your shop. This channel provides such great customer service and amazing content. Keep up the great work.
@klwthe3rd Thank you! I appreciate you
Tips to improve the video quality: (1)two battery-powered LED lights(on stands). (2) Operate the camera on manual exposure. On automatic, the camera adjusts the lens for the bright picture area, thus rendering you (or what you are showing us) dark. (3) put the camera on a gimbal stabilizer. A good camera store (like B& H Photo) will be extremely helpful to you. However, remember these are just tools. We watch for the content and the way you share your knowledge.
@jefbishutube Thank you for the Tips, I appreciate it, my cameraman and I are learning about this as we go!
great advice, i also though of the gimbal for video stability.. the content is great. cant add oor subtract
Looks great, so far. Nice job Matt, for setting him up with quality products.
@Mark-um3hm Thank you!
I learn something from you every time watch an episode . Thank you .
@florinselegean2853 My Pleasure! I'm glad to hear that
Thank you for correcting yourself customers do not like to hear that I think they would rather hear I know that's the issue🙏👍
@johnniezuniga6841 My Pleasure!
Thank you for this one. Your video picture is great, and the sound is okay. I worked on Sprinter for many years, too, and I always find the same problem with that engine and the 3.0 wastegate every time. However, I have to replace the whole turbo to fix the issues. I took a wastegate from another fleet I worked on and put it one with the bad wastegate, but two months later, it ended up failing so just replace the turbo from now on. I like long-format videos. One thing I find on EGR valves always have a code for the valve but 90% of the time it is the EGR cooler full of carbon causing it. The fleet I work on is ambulance and they idle all the time and are always full of carbon. I have always heard from drivers that it has no power. I can easily step on the gas and see if, in the limp mode under 3000rpms, it is over it is something else. I had a funny one this one year had to trace the trans wiring out because it was shifting funny. The engine was replaced on 3.0 and the wires ran in a way that melted one of them causing crazy shifts and would not go over 2000 rpms. I removed the seat to get at TCM and ohm the wires out first and then was going to do a voltage drop test but there was no need. The wiring was the issue. It was on back order the wiring harness from the TCM to the Transmission. So making new wires and connectors and rerouting wires away from the exhaust worked great then. One thing I learned about sprinters is to always take them on a 60-mile test drive to verify emission repairs.
@markstuart872 Thank you for sharing your experience with these sprinters with us, I appreciate you, I'm glad to have you here
Enjoying your videos

Hi Deo.
Excellent (unusual educational) troubleshooting. Your customers are lucky to have you near, because it is not so usual the mechanic guy tells the customer the real truth whatever is.
Best regards from Madrid (Spain)
Jose
@tecnology-today Thanks Jose! I appreciate it
You are an honest tech, kinda rare to find those days. I have a 2005 t1n , so I'm all ears when u diagnose a problem . I've heard there's a plate in the tranny that causes problems, the remedy I'm told is to drill a tiny hole in the plate to fix the high boost pressure, not sure if this is accurate, tks again for all u do .
@theeaskey My Pleasure! what kind of plate is that?
Great video educational 👍🏿✌🏿
@Rootsreggae777 Thank you!
I am happy you have a new kits for recording that’s makes your videos greats..before you are filming and shaking and not pointing to the parts you fixated and also you need a stand brighter lead light because some of parts you filmed we can’t see them..however all your videos are great and amazing…thanks again 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍
@thearrow5793 Thank you for the feedback, we are improving every day
Deo, I'm glad the algorithm brought your channel to my attention a few weeks ago. I subscribed immediately, you are a great mechanic. Loving your contents and this video is awesone. Nice upgrade of equipment. Matt will figure things out in time ❤
@SunShyne_Culture Thank you, I appreciate you
The video quality and audio are excellent.
@erics9213 Thank you!
Another Great video Brother!!!!
@MichaelJeffery-v8l Thank you!
I think it's clear to see the last owner sold it as they knew the van had problems and it be costly to repair, you are correct to do the job right it needs a transmission and a turbo
@stevenprestwich521 Yes! that's true
Good videos…you go through the diagnosis and explain why…most mechanics would like to keep their diagnosis secret in case they’re wrong
@redneckways1617 Thank you!
Great camera work, I always learn something new every time I watch your videos. I'll pay you a visit one of these days, me and my wife have a fleet of cars.
@EAPonce-qr7sw Sounds good, stop by anytime, Thanks

@jamesgichuhi2174 Thank you James
Very good! Info to us! My friend!let me share with you this problem that I had on my 2.1l sprinter! A friend and I did previous this problem a high pressure fuel pump work! then after we put everything back together! the check engine light on it was maybe 60% power engine! We couldn’t find what we did wrong! We scanned the Codes scanner said something about the water pump,EGR flaps and vacuum system!Took it to the dealership they told me that I need to change all what the scanner told us! 😢 I it was like 3K repair so I went to a mechanic shop they told me the same! And charge me $ 500 only for tell me that at the end I went under the engine and looked up ! With a flash light and I see this wire harness of this vaccum value smash with a brake bolt to the frame! That was the problem!!!!! We didn’t see when we bolted it because there is not room to see it just with the fingers to put it on!!!! 😮😮😮
@miguellomejoral1005 Wow, that's crazy, I'm glad to hear that you figure it out
This quality bro ...i salute...we are following
@GivenDewa Thank you!
Hi the sound is great and also the quality of the video is also good.
@johnpaulotieno6133 Thank you!
Answer from 39:00 in video....vacuum to water pump engages sleeve around impeller, coolant no longer circulates, forcing engine to warm up faster..emissions and cabin warmth quicker in winter..also..as stated by other commenter..after market WP(non MBZ)...has a blank vacuum nipple, it does nothing, so of course it will hold vacuum but does NOT have an impeller sleeve, and it can set codes for the WP and the transducer...only OE will fix it
@milesmahan I appreciate your clarification, Thanks!
You said you’re not a professional in this video. I think you’re not giving yourself enough credit? You have more patches on your uniform, than a boy scout. Lol You certainly are a professional.👍
@Mark-um3hm Lol, Thank you!! I appreciate you
Great video and clear sound. And I love the long format video.
do you change the converter when you put new transmission in
@PS-pr5ki Thank you, that's good to know
@st.elmohollingsworth4776 yes, a Reman transmission comes with a torque converter
I can't stop thanking you Mr Deo and Mat for the great work you're doing. Kept it up
@sekirembekafrank3659 My Pleasure! Thanks
Excellent as usual
@sheerwillsurvival2064 Thanks!
I was watching the video, I just finished watching the video, the answer was at the end of the video.
@reynaldofigueroa7881 Good!
merci
@danman9017 De Rien!
Great sound brother; however, the Sony camera needs a proper gyroscope "GIMBAL" stabilizer for video image stabilization; otherwise the video is crystal clear.
@Mr_INTP Thank you! I appreciate your feedback, I will talk to Matt about it!
Great job sir
@andersonchimukono8498 Thank you!
being the owner of a 3.0 sprinter i notice on the 4 cyl the tried and true vac actuated turbo has come back, much less complicated system,and it looks to me that if the actuator would be bad you dont have to disassemble the whole van to change it.
@roberts6236 No! butt I prefer the 3.0L engines, they are better in my opinion!
Hi Deo, could you please ask the camera man to zoom more on the scan tool when you are looking at the data pids, they were very clear when you are doing it on your own than now that you have a camera man.
I could barely see the graphs on the scan tool when you were road testing this sprinter and analyzing the data.
@joelawoyomi9102 Thanks for the feedback, we are about to start using a screen recorder for the scan tool, and we will also get better at zooming and camera angles, I appreciate it! Stay tuned it's gonna get better
Hola amigo me gustan tus videos , muy bueno 👍🎶🥁
@williamfigueroa6662 Thank you my Friend!
Great job engineer.. I love the whole process of diagnosis..as a mechanic, you have really helped given me bunch of ideas as to working these vans 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼... I salute you...
# well my opinion anyway is you shouldn't advise her on a trans flush..
# you and I both know the flush is not gonna work due to the condition of the fliud you removed and behavior of the transmission...
Bless up senior....
@Kekeliautos Thank you my Friend, I appreciate it, you are right the flush would not work
Well done 👍 friend
@RichardGibson-r3i Thanks!
The replacement of the Water Pump is to protect the Turbo from early malfunction. If the Water Pump starts leaking tomorrow it will destroy the new Turbo prematurely.
@Toronado2 No, leaking water pump would destroy switch valves or transducers not the turbo
Great content ! much better video and audio quality, but Deo you need to do an effort to not repeat your self too much. Bon courage !
@hexgeneration6567 Thank you for your feedback, I'm working on it, I'm gonna stop repeating myself
Hello Mr
When u change oil use tow type of medicine oil one name is synthetic Atf protectant and another is instant shudde fixx
I used very good
@JanatShah-ny3yj Oh really?? Good to know, is it an additive?
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair yes exactly
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair yes exactly
Godfather great one 🎉
@MprahEnock-db8ti Thank you my Friend!
Interesting, do you ever try replacing the valve body and or the solenoids around the valve body? also I have found that the shudderfix red tube product works wonders on these transmissions. Usually a lot of issues with harsh shifter can be attributed to some of the pressure solenoids. at least that is the case on the 5 and seven speed transmissions. Not sure about the new nine speed.
@sprinterfix No, I don't, Good to know, thanks
Good jobs
@luciensenor9589 Thanks
Dear, I suggest you to check the catalytic converter maybe melted and blocked it makes same symptoms. If catalytic converter temperature between 400 C to 600 C is OK. same issue happened in my car was 740 C and was melted but my car have no turbo.
@firstalawal Oh really! Good to know thanks
While you were riding all on the hwy. As soon as you knew it had transmission problems. You should have gone back to the shop and change the filter.
@blackericdenice Changing the filter is not gonna fix this
@ Driving around while it’s messing up doesn’t either. My sister had an 88 Suburban that was slipping at 75% throttle. Aamco told her changing the filter would not help her unit. It was too late because she didn’t have it serviced sooner. I dropped the pan and tried it anyway. The fluid was black and the filter was restricting flow. The slip went away. That crap about debris helped the clutches grip is a lie.
He gave her that option , and told her the possibilities .
I am surprised that he even mentioned the change ,on a moveable car , and especially for someone that was that far away from home.
@@WISHBONEL7 She ask for the change because she heard me say a lot of units would last longer if people change the filter.
good video my friend
@humbertoarellano8887 Thank you!
Wow that second transmission shudder was too loud and scarry, that proof that the new cameras is excellent, and also proof the transmission has seriouse issues,
@abdoualilahthomas8031 Thanks my glad to hear that you hear that shudder from the new camera and mic
A friend of mine was recently charged 500$ for a blow motor replacement,I told her to never go back to that shop again.
@himgod6495 Oh really!!
Great video How much was Infinity trans?
@bradhelms8780 0ver 4K
I don't suggest flushing the transmission, It may get worse as you said, i suggete that the customer keep driving till the transmission gone worse and then try flushimg it, but anyway, transmission need to be fixed first before you go to the turbo.
@abdoualilahthomas8031 Yes!
i learn so much from your videos! i have an observation: when there is a problem with the engine you always figure out how to fix it but when there is a problem with the transmission you immediately decide to replace it - can't transmissions be repaired?
@ManWander Thanks! I can fix some transmission issues or the electrical and electronic issues of a transmission but the deep mechanical issues of a transmission would have to be handled by a transmission specialist
In this country is less expensive to replace it then repair .
The transmission rebuilder ( Specialist) are not good enough .
Most of the rebuild transmission we get are about 50% coming with some defects, except from the dealer o Gasper .
So image if the specialist fails !
What I want to tell you is rebuilding a transmission is a serious job for some on who is dedicated to one area only .
Hi Deo hey I just wanted to let you know if is ok with you if I try to go to your shop to learn more about mechanical experience I like the way you explain it
@carlosmurguia2841 We are not taking interns right now, I will let you know when we will
Almost every car dealership will do anything to rip customers for their own profits! THAT'S FOR SURE and NO DOUBTS ABOUT IT!
Example: When I bought my 2019 Toyota Tacoma, Fowler Toyota dealership tried to convince me to buy extra warranty for me Infotainment and extended warranty for bumper to bumper.
To make the story short:
#1: When 1 of my windshield wipers went bad and I asked for a new one...I was told the windshield wipers only warranty for 1 year.
Case #2: When 1 the rear mirror outside on the driver's side fell and I had no idea...I went back to Fowler Toyota dealership, the service manager told me that it's not responsible.
I had to call Toyota factory and explain the situation, it checked all my vehicle purchased history all Toyota and, finally, got me a new one.
All Toyota dealerships are BOGUS! NEVER TRUST ANY DEALERSHIPS UNLESS EVERYTHING IS WRITTEN BY CONTRACT!
But my 2019 was bought brand new and the manufacturer's warranty was 3 years for bump to bumper warranty and 2 years for maintenance.
@DejNtab Oh that's sad, I'm sorry to hear about your experience at the Dealer
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Yes, Sir! My complaint went NO WHERE! I'd even even to Fowler Toyota dealership's website and wrote a TERRIBLE and HORRIBLE review warning its nowadays and future customer but seems like everyone just IGNORE the ISSUE....
I took my 2009 Corolla to Jim Norton Toyota dealership for and oil change and the technicians change the oil lube but didn't fill up new oils. I took it all the way to the top management and they did REDO EVERYTHING bc my Corolla's engine was about to be BLOWN UP!
Check illumination as you are not visible sitting inside the vehicle
@malikishtiaq7950 Thanks for the feedback, we will work on it
Hey deo quick question,
is it we can shut the water pump vacuum tube?and same time upgrade with a normal water pump ?
@ronezha it's not a good idea
Hello, it would be very nice of you to answer my question. If I have the error code P0101 algorithm error, what should I check and how do I fix it? sprinter w906
@Borisboros Test your MAF Sensor
You make it clear, but is it written in the repair contract?
@vanbraxton8422 Thanks!
Now you gotta order better lighting equipment to light up the area your filming 😊like inside the sprinter 😅
@vanbraxton8422 we are working on it
Please keep us posted , especially if she changes her mind .
@WISHBONEL7 Sure!
Hi Deo, can you advise me, what is the best scan tool for any type of car?
@ajithkithsiri8054 There isn't such thing as best scan tool, they are all good and bad, it's gonna depend on the type of vehicles that you fix
Great diagnosis
@thesilentonevictor Thank you!
What was the outcome? Transmission flush works?
@reynaldofigueroa7881 she ended up not doing it
Awesome Video
@luxuryacuraz Thank you!
Personally I would have just done a drain and fill on the transmission. Drain 3-4qt and fill that with new fluid, if the transmission shifts better wait 5,000 miles and do another 3-4qt, if that gets better then do a drop pan and filter. As for the transmission pan, I would have left that as is until after all the drain fills confirmed the transmission was still operating. But why didnt you quote her an aftermarket transmission pan instead of an oem? much cheaper to use a dorman pan, its not the best quality but it gets the job done.
As for the wastegate, why didnt you try to remove the wastegate and try to free up the wastegate internally. Or take it to a turbo repair shop and have them free it up
@ibidu1 Good suggestions, but your suggestiond are temporary fixes, I don't like temporary fixes!
You didn’t change the filter inside the cr-v transmission. You have to disassemble transmission to change that filter. The filter outside doesn’t do anything. It was put on by someone who doesn’t know how transmission works.
@blackericdenice oh really???
They sell those external transmission in line filters , later model Honda added those from factory
@ They don’t help because the main filter catches the clutch material first.
@@blackericdenice the filter inside the transmission is at suction side , the inline filter is on the return side from TCC to oil pan .
What is the difference you said ?
the inline filter is pick in up before getting to to pan , the traini filter inside before Star the circulation
@@JoelAutomotiveInaction The torque converter get fluid straight from the pump after it has gone through the main filter inside the unit. Like I said before. The inline filter was added because someone @ Honda sitting behind a desk. Didn't understand how the transmission work.
If I were the customer, I would certainly want to see the video first before making a decision.
@TheAnalogKid2 Oh really? Lol, Why??
How often transmisson fluid be changed?,
@clementwilson4739 every 35K miles
What state you in?
@AV-gs5ou I'm in Frederick Maryland
Just one request when servicing a car on the video try not to skip the video so much. Am a mechanic and am trying to learn some skills on how to fix various cars on this channel.
@johnpaulotieno6133 Ok! so you prefer the long videos?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair yep. Step by step.
One thing customers should stop doing is telling another shop what another shop told them they need. Some mechanics will not even look at the car or just read codes and agree with the others. Its a setup for failure.
@marlinyoung1606 Oh really?? do you think some shops do that?
Another great video nice investment on the new video gear. I have a 2008 Sprinter 2500 that the timing chain snapped. Is the engine finished or you recommend replacing the whole engine? Thanks
@ozzy4941 Thank you! I would recommend replacing the engine
@ thank you you for your feedback. Keep up the good work , quality and helpful content.
I have a 2005 toyota corolla Ce, but the air fuel ratio sensor is not supportive always incomplete the drive cycle about the emissions test. How to fix it this problem.
@rommeltolentino5954 did you install an OEM sensor in it? I recommend you have a pro mechanic who can diagnose your vehicle for you
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Thank you very,You are the best mechanic. But no fault code or no check engine light. Almost driving two thousand miles now.
You should have said the flush is not going to work, you know when all the metals drain out that's it there is no grip to the gears.
@mindimarcano3856 Yep
Hi i have mercedes sprinter van 2014 2.1 engine with check engine light on i have changed dpf filter and dpf sensor pressure still on. when engine is cold it's normal goes over 3000 rpm when get hot didn't go over 3000 rpm .so what the problem can be ? please thank you
@ahmadhussen1850 What codes do you have in the PCM?
Thanks for replying p047128@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair
if it was my car id pull the turbo and free up the waste gate. problem today is mechanics dont repair parts they just remove and replace. but seeing its a customers car i would say get another turbo
@billbarney4937 Ah OK! WE do that to avoid comebacks
How much should I expect to pay for OEM transmission on 2010 Toyota RAV4 xle, just transmission price only
@DathSouphannarath I'm not sure
Shouldn't you get codes from the transmission on yhe scan tool?
@vanbraxton8422 there wasn't any
I guess I shouldn’t be BUT I’m amazed how incompetent some of these so called technicians/mechanics are.
@jruerph Lol
She was smart not to fix it. Sell it as a mechanic special and someone can either fix the waistgate or put a used turbo and used transmission in it.
@larry7690 Yeah!
There is a car that come on my shop it was a suzuki alto the customer said the car bumped on a pothole very hard that where the problem started when you start the car raving it it's fine but when you put shifted to D or R the engine start to shake violently it like the engine whats to get off the car we changed the transmission but still the same thing what might be the problem
