  • Honda Africa Twin, first ride review.
The Honda Africa Twin is a bike I have been interested in for a few years now but I have never had the chance to ride one. With it being a tall bike I was concerned that it would would be too big as I am only 5'6 tall with a short 29 inch inseam.
I was pleasantly surprised to find I could get my feet down ok.
I took the bike out for an hours test ride to get a fell for it.

Another great review, you're fairly knocking them out 👍😀 This is a bike I so very nearly bought, I got as far as putting a deposit down then changed my mind. To me it felt top heavy and I was only able to tip toe, even with the lower seat I still couldn't flat foot. As the bike is designed for off road uneven conditions and I often have my wife as pillion, I wanted the security of both feet flat on the ground. I eventually ended up with the KTM 890 Adventure R and I'm very pleased I waited to find the perfect bike for me.

Thanks for watching. I have been on annual leave from work so I have had a bit of time to fill. I am use to my Crossrunner which is nearly 250kg kerb weigh and it is top heavy. Everything feels light in comparison. My local KTM dealer is waiting on their 890 Adventure demo bike, it’s on the list. Ride safe.

@@althescottishbiker I just got the Triumph Rocket 3 GT Triple Black, it was delivered on Sunday. I had issues when fitting a mount for my 360 camera, broke the tightening nut so had to resort to an old clamp which kept coming loose.
Ten minutes into the ride it poured with rain, despite removing the camera and the Rode receiver, the receiver got soaked in the pocket of my mesh jacket. I've managed to salvage 15 minutes of footage, it'll be up later.

@@greywolf9292 oh no, that sucks. I remember you saying you were getting the Rocket. I look forward to seeing your footage. Cheers

@@althescottishbiker Yes it was a painful lesson to learn, only the inside pocket behind the thermal waterproof layer is safe in the rain. I wouldn't mind but conscious of the receiver not being waterproof is why I removed it and put it in my pocket. I'm hoping burying it in rice might sap the moisture out of it 🤔 Meantime I've bought the DJI wireless mic system which only trial and error will tell which levels work.

Loved your review, very concise. On the inside seam, is it 29 to sole or ankle, as in trouser. Thankyou.
