Taste-wise, horseradish wasabi tastes a lot like dijon mustard, but with a sharper kick and less sweetness.

wasabi (and mustard and pepper) are different from chillies because the heat comes from a different much more volatile compound.
you see the stuff that is in chillies is a large stable molecule, this is why you feel the burn building up slowly until it hits the peak before lingering there for a bit before it slowly mellows out.
the stuff that is in the other spicy foods are smaller compounds that evaporate at body temperature, so as soon as it hits your mouth the pain is instant and as quickly as the pain hits you, the pain is gone.
i liken chillies to someone twisting your nipples for an hour, whereas wasabi is more like a quick punch in the nut sack that just barely gets you, but hurts thrice as much.

2:39 umeume, short for umai umai, is a slang word of Kanade's which in this case has the same meaning as "nom nom". So basically "to eat" or "yum yum". She famously said it a lot during her first marshmallow reading stream, and it became a household meme ever since. Not to be confused with umeru, "to fill/add in"
