    Carrier would be more effective. But, the battleship would be a lot more interesting.

    I’ve always enjoyed Dreadnoughts! Also I haven’t really seen any big ships with carronades!

    I always prefer carriers to dreadnaughts, I always have more fun with them and like the roleplay better

    Thanks for playing this. I somehow stumbled across your channel and these videos and am kind of excited about this game.
    While i am playing my first Fail game i can watch your video for inspiration for what could be and also to notice really obvious things i missed in my own game.

    dreadnoughts are fun though sadly missiles and fighters are king in this game but hey whatever you think is more fun or better for your lore lol

    If you had better shield tech I would suggest a big battleship but lacking that, carriers are the way to go at this stage of the game.

    You did make a slight mistake in Episode #7 while re-arranging your Galactic Map.
    At th-cam.com/video/ETbc-zkgHL4/w-d-xo.html you drag 80 Orionis to the right, overlapping the connection between 75 Ophiuchi and V577 Monoceri. Now it looks like Orionis and Monoceri are connected, which they are not.

    Carriers have ruled 4x games since the old Space Empires and MoO days. I normally design a support cruiser-sized PD/AMM battery for picket duty. Maybe a battleship for a nut cracker.

    Please before next space battle make Hospital Ship; civilian cruiser-size ship with criogenic and 2+ smol rescue shuttles inside.
    When you are forced to retreat like vid #4 small shuttles with low thermal signature can take survivors and return to Hospital Ship.

    I like carriers but find them a bit micro, I might be missing something on how to use them. Either Battleships or Carriers would be fine with me - I'm sure I'll learn a lot. In my game, I also only have one Jump point in Sol and was thinking I might restart after learning how the new missiles, point defense and Ground Combat work or maybe just restart when 2.4 comes out.

    Carriers -
    easier to upgrade for logistics,
    easier to replace losses for logistics (maybe a civilian carrier too for upgrade/replacement fighters transport to the systems where the main military carriers are based without needing to worry about service life of the transport carrier. Can also double for transporting larger ships that would burn through their fuel too fast getting to their new home system.)
    easier to keep alive as it will be at the back.
    Have any of the colonies got maintenance facilities setup yet for their system defence ships?

    Is it possible to sell old military equipmeny to civilians in this game? Itd be kinda cool to see some old military vessel refitted into a civilian cargo vessel or something.

    I appreciate your efforts to make a more immersive experience with the intros and sound effects. Have you considered looking at the audio balance for the effects? For the last couple episodes the lasers/explosions/etc have been really intense, and downright shocking/painful when watching with headphones on. I think bringing the levels down on those would be great if possible!

      I will try to bring audio levels down but it can be difficult at times. And be more aware of I have already tweaked them actually

    Do they geosurvey teams automaticly survey the moons? I might be blind, but have you studied any of them? They also might have resources. Or it wouldnt be viable if they have no atmosphere?

      Survey ships survey both planets & moons - if there is a possibility for a Geosurvey Team to find more resources it is indicated as low-high chance in a separate tab and you have to manually drop your geologists on the survey entity.

    The new version with fixed Raiders has come out and I believe it is save game compatible.
    Will we see that update in this series or no?

      The raider fix unfortunately only applies to new games, so even if it is not a database update, it can still not be used for this particular run

    I'm not sure which of the big vessels to pick, dreadnaut sounds cooler but my unpracticed guess is that carrier squadron might be better in terms of many small targets and smaller weapons if you want to disable but not destroy enemy vessels.

      Battlecarriers are a cool, but utterly pointless design. You give up the benefit of stand-off engagements of carriers by having to get into firing range, and the flight deck and related facilities take up space/mass that could otherwise be used for more armour or weapons.
