for my LS afinnity build I use: kulu weapon dragon dance mask (cb 2) rathalos mail (we 2) rathain vambraces (burst and lock on) pink rathian coil (ce 2) kulu greaves (ce 2) (80% affinity in weak spots) im thinking to use rath soul braces for critical boost and the new pukei lagoon hat for WE 4 and lock on, however, its too much materials to farm, so it might take some time...

I had a question though, is it at all possible to do it at a rank of 22 or would I be better off just waiting?
For people who don't want to farm that much for Grade 8, WEX only goes from 20% > 25% from Skill level 1 > 2. Don't kill yourself to get that extra 5% if you don't want to.
i'm probably wrong but isn't, historically, the dual blades the best weapon for elemental damage? At the highest water attack boost, pukey S&S has 1642 water damage and Jyura DB will be 1410. does het make both options balanced or one of them is superior?
You cant really compare different weapons. If your a db main then the jyura is currently the best water weapon. If your a sns main then coral is the best. If you can use both weapons comfortably then i'll suggest pick the weapon with the higher water element
Oversight you didn't mention Great Sword / Bow / Light Bowgun in the water weapons section? Out of these only thing I wanted to hear was opinion on Bow given that level 4 is Pierce which makes me think of just sticking with Jyura given I only use it (instead of Black Diablos) for monsters I don't want to use Pierce against.
Same question but I realized that it has Rapid 3 at first charge tick so you just have to spam that.. then it's the Rathalos (tier 2) counterpart of Jyura for bow considering there's no Jagras bow.
DO you really recommend giving up that much Burst (2 if compared to Zinogre Helm / Boots) for Dual Blades for three Coral Pukei pieces? I can see doing helm and mail but not boots
We will have to do further tests just how much long demon mode lasts with power prolonger but more damage is better. So probably stick with more burst ideally
Saw my first one today. Skill set seemed pretty easy fighting it with poison sns. Only skill that seemed to possibly be trouble was the flying one with water spraying in a circle… i could see ulting through it though and making the fight pretty easy.
Nothing can replace that, cuz barioth gloves gives ice attack 2, and depending in which weapon you use youll need its chest; legiana helm only gives you ice 1 and legiana coil ice 2, so even with both you can only reach ice 3, but if your weapon dont let use the helm can be pretty bad

It will but i dont really suggest affinity build in this game. Having to balance low affinity and crit boost is not the best
Is coral sns better than jyura sns?
Check its Grade 10 versions Coral has the highest Water DMG. Its not a hybrid either

Yep wex is affected by crit boost :)
Its still not as strong as elemental damage since you cant make 100% affinity with crit boost just yet

Just think of that attack as a "jumping rope" wait till the spray goes to the other side and jump in below him, then you're safe
I use the lance so i just mindlessly use my shield wahaha

Id prioritize a good weapon over an armor piece
Fun fact, Normal pukei hammer when grade 6 transformed into something like coral pukei(but green )
