I'm not sure. If read somewhere about their early era it's only youngjae, jb and jr used to be lead, and yugyeom sub. But now many write young+jb as main, and jr+yugyeom as lead. Maybe they change a bit as everyone works on their potential.
I'm 100% sure that Jaebeom was stated as Lead Vocalist back in the day, because I remember being surprised about it since he sang just as much as Youngjae. I'm glad that they changed it though, he totally deserves to be Main Vocalist, especially according to this ranking.
@@Taleneki nope. He's main vocalist from the start. If you watch the Girls3 mv making, they (2jae) call themselves 메보 line or main vocal line. Coz both of them are main vocals. Youngjae even said that Jaebeom is the one who thought him to sing adlib. So, both Jaebeom and Youngjae are the main vocal from the very beginning!.. 💚🌴
I'm okay with the rank, and people put Youngjae first mostly because while dancing Youngjae is More stable than anyone in the group. His voice can hear exactly as the audio record, and that's where the other vocalist can't go. But right now i think that JB y really stable too and i agree whith you about the versatility.

Dancing cant be include to tell technique, it's about stamina. So, if you said Youngjae can handle while dancing, it's bcs he has decent stamina and control.
I wish we could strike the term 'stable' from vocal discussions. It's so often used to describe a singer's voice when nothing else good can be said. Like, okay you managed to be in key and didn't lose your breath. You've done the bare minimum...
I don't think they put Youngjae first only for that, people tend to like his voice more because he has the Strong type of voice, while JB has the highest/R&B voice. I think Youngjae's voice is seen as those more like opera voices and ppl usually like those more (I love those too). JB's voice is harder to be recognised because he uses different types and techniques over their songs and you usually notice Youngjae's strong voice first, but if someone knows GOT7 well they will know JB has a great voice, versatility and technique, not to speak about his high pitch voice range. :) I mean that's only my opinion tho.

@@woonawoona your wayyy is a little biased but it's of course your taste. Jbs range is of a main vocal. Jy has a nice time but limited, nothing wrong with that. No singer has to have high notes to be good. For me Jy tone is sweet if he stays low but he said it himself he won't reach Jb's notes at all. It's not us shading anybody. It's a vocal technic point and even he knows it better as a singer
I totally agree with your list and I love it how you give proper explanations and not just rank them randomly without a reason. JB is first for me as well, his voice is just so unique and out of got7 he sings with the most emotions IMO. He and youngjae are one of the best vocalist in kpop and probably the most underrated one too and I agree with the jackson reasoning too, he keep saying he can't sing but that's actually the total opposite, he can sing really well.
I love that you gave JB No.1 ranking...& He's really amazing...runaway is my fav song too...if you ve heard jb's ad libs in runaway.... everyone will get to know how amazing singer he is! I just wanna add that I legit searched up about GOT7 after randomly hearing JB's voice in some compilation video. For a moment I felt like I was in heaven. I loved his voice that much!!! At that time I was new to Kpop and couldn't really recognise people well. In fact for the first few days I couldn't really recognise him by his face but by his voice.
I actually hadn't checked out what professionals had to say regarding the Got7 vocal line, but I'm pleasantly surprised to hear you also think JB is the strongest vocalist in Got7. Please keep these coming, I really enjoy your vocal analysis videos!
I want Jackson to sing more He has such a unique voice in my opinion you can't find many artist who sound like him now and days his solo songs does have him singing buts it's really hidden by the beats and music. He sang the song I love you 3000 which mainly stays at the same tone which wasn't very impressive cuz it doesn't showcase much of his unique voice and it has a lot potential
What I like about the boys is how they’ve grown. Like if I compared bullet to the heart or out of my head to their earlier stuff, you can hear the difference in their capabilities and control. It makes me so proud to see how they’re growing.

He cannot show his full potential because his voice doesn't fit the GOT7's concept. His voice is not common in k-pop, that's why mostly he does get less lines than JB. JB's voice is easier to insert into any song. Moreover, GOT7's tipe of songs often fail to show the strength of his voice. Youngjae just needs a solo.

But I'm pretty sure youngjae has a more developed mixed voice and thus has a higher range for that type of voice, which is more supportive and technical than using falsetto. I like both tho! Tbh my fave got7 voice is jinyoung but their vocals are all amazing in their own way and very distinct 😊
Yes I agree JB's voice is so unique and versatile. He deserve to be the number 1. But for me all of them has a very distinct voice that blend really well like a rainbow
Yup, this would be my ranking as well. Jaebeom's voice is just so unique and a huge part of GOT7's sound. I have to agree with you on Yugyeom, I've never been a big fan of his voice, but I do have to say that his voice shines a lot more in the album Focus (by Jus2, GOT7's subgroup consisting of him and Jaebeom). It suits this seductive urban style of music (I'm really bad with genres so I'm not even gonna try) and complements Jaebeom's voice beautifully.

I think JB's voice is really versatile and unique. Youngjae voice kinda open and operatic for me and that gives me goosebumps. But I can't really tell who's better since I'm not a professional but I prefer JB's voice because of its versatility.

I agree with your opinion, Jackson really have a good voice but lack of training, but his voice is really really good, I hope he will get more training for his vocal, his voice really have potential. Jinyoung voice is really smooth and clear, his voice become GOT7 vocal identity, like when you hear his voice you will thought "Oh it's GOT7", and he's my most favorite voice too. I agree with you about the rank. However, they all can sing but it's not in the same quality that's how great boyband did for me. If everybody in the group can sing equally well, they would compete in the songs and that's disaster for me like it happened before in some groups. One of the main reason I love GOT7, they have many dimentions in their voice and rap which very flexible. No matter people said, I like all of their voice, 7 members with different tone and styles. How interesting! JB is my bias but probably I would put Youngjae in first place because the insane power of his voice; he always sounds clear and stable. But if we talk about feeling and other criterias, JB is number one for me. He has not such a powerfull voice but instead his voice is versatile, unique, different and soulful; in my opinion it's full of life. Jinyoung's voice is beautiful, by the way, I agree. I also love the way Jackson sings, another very unique voice! Thanks for your video!
I agree with the ranks i love Youngjae's instrument but for me it tends to be power all the time and not very versatile. Jb on the other hand i have no words for him he can do so many damn things with his voice people sleep on him. Stop sleeping on my r&b King Im Jaebeom
Great ranking. Totally agree with JB at the top. The only change I'd make is Jackson over Yugyeom. You are kind to say that Yugyeom has "forward facial placement". He sings in his nose. (Honestly, I personally find his singing outright annoying.) BTW, nice point about Jinyoung's lovely falsetto. Also, he's one of those high baritones who's often forced to sing at the top of his (natural voice) range and can't even do some of his solo tracks live because they are too hard to sing reliably.
BTW, I wonder if people seeing this after 2021 have considered that Youngjae's voice sounds a little different after some physical changes he's undergone.

Totally agree with your ranking.... Exactly what I thought! When it comes to singing, yes, you deliver the notes with powerful vocals (sometimes too loud that it hurts the ear), but the more difficult ones is the pulling back of the vocal power, which not many could do, but I think JB is getting there.

I really love Jackson's voice but I prefer when his voice is deep and raspy when he sings like in his solo songs 100 Ways and Bullet to the heart. He has a really unique voice and I'm glad that he shows it more in their last album album Not By The Moon.

Someone hit the female key 5E which is rare to hear from a male vocal. And tell me who he was?! Stop dragging others voice to make it fit YOUR OPINION (see again, it's opinion) and just respect it. i could see youngjae doing opera mostly because of his very open sound. but quite honestly, although he’s got a really great voice, i don’t really like it within a lot of got7’s music purely because his voice -i feel like- doesn’t fit a lot of their songs’ style. it fits for some, but personally it feels out of place a lot of the time. and i wish it didn’t seem that way. but it’s perfectly fine to disagree with me, as it seems a lot of people don’t share my opinion.

In my opinion, actually note wise, especially for the lower ones, Bambam is more stable than Mark. I feel that Mark sounds shaky sometimes even when he raps. I think for Bambam, at the beginning when they debuted before his voice changed, he had a much lighter voice where he can hit those higher notes easily and he actually sounded really stable. Then, his voice changed and became a lot deeper, at that time, he was already mostly rapping and I don't think the company made him focus on his vocal anymore. So, In my opinion, he actually knows the notes, but he just doesn't know what to do to reach those higher notes after his voice changed. Besides that, I totally agree with the comments that you have for the other members! Thank you for this video!
I 100% agree with you ! JB is the best singer of this group, and one of the most beautiful voices of kpop. GOT7 is blessed to have him as leader. Jinyoung is my favorite voice, but he doesn’t have JB’s abilities, and still has some live stability issues. As for Mark, he lacks confidence as always. If he was coached properly, and took some risks, he could improve a lot and make a better use of his deep voice.
I never thought I’d listen to a 22 min video but you were interesting enough to keep me on the whole way. I enjoyed your simple to understand explanations (for someone who doesn’t know music), as well as your very diplomatic approach to it, such as adding in that you might just not have seen all their abilities yet. Also for putting both Bambam’s joking and serious version AND CAPTIONING THAT!! Would like to chime in that I would also like to see you do a DAY6 version if you haven’t yet. Something I’d appreciate is maybe captions across the vocal clips like what you might be observing during each one that we should pay attention to as well. For me, I’m just relistening to vocals that I’m familiar with without perfectly knowing what I should be hearing or looking out for that you are.

jackson is something he says he can not sing and then he drops a solo album with a bunch of singing, i think he just didnt have confidence in his voice but he has improved a lot i really liked his solo stuf and the way he used his voice there
For me I will put JB and Youngjae put in 1st place. I love JB's versatility same I get shocked by Youngjae's vocals and stability . They really balance each other, one of my most favourite kpop main vocalist. They both are one of a kind of combination in KPOP. My favourite voice among them is JB because he put more emotions. Jinyoung is the king of falsetto and melodies for me. Yugyeom isn't that powerful but addictive. Gonna annoy on Jackson saying he can't sing after listening Bullet to heart and Let me switch part. Mark's rap is my favourite, that is so smooth. Yes, I enjoy BamBam rap too because of swag. I agree Youngjae has more potential but he doesn't get a chance to show it because I notice that he every time get the same type of lines (hitting high note which he slays), like same with Jinyong getting falsetto and pre-chorus most of the time. I love how Jackson got pre-chorus of NBTM for showing his singing ability. I want such an opportunity for Youngjae.
1- JB Youngjae 2- Jinyoung 3 -Jackson / Yugyeom 4- Bam Bam/ Mark. Bam bam & Mark have less vocal videos on TH-cam but they actually can sing. They got deeper voices like Jackson so ofc it will never sound like Jb or Youngjae but they both definitely have vocals. Jackson was actually trained singing, you really need to see videos of him singing it’s sounds really good. Yugyeom has more of a soft/nasal voice but sounds really good and is soothing also props to him to have a tone that allows him to switch rap/ sing. Youngjae Jb and Jinyoung are litterally the whole trinity. These videos doesn’t really showcase all of their vocals, I’ve seen them twice live and they really have ALL a really good singing voice !!!
You really underestimate those guys vocals even tho I agree on a lot of points, they have along and exo and Shinee the best vocals of all kpop and I’m talking live, I’ve seen a loooot of groups very famous and some less in concert and by far those 3 are can’t be surpassed live wise they be sounding like the their audio version.

@@woonawoona your wayyy is a little biased but it's of course your taste. Jbs range is of a main vocal. Jy has a nice time but limited, nothing wrong with that. No singer has to have high notes to be good. For me Jy tone is sweet if he stays low but he said it himself he won't reach Jb's notes at all. It's not us shading anybody. It's a vocal technic point and even he knows it better as a singer

I totally agree with your list and I love it how you give proper explanations and not just rank them randomly without a reason. JB is first for me as well, his voice is just so unique and out of got7 he sings with the most emotions IMO. He and youngjae are one of the best vocalist in kpop and probably the most underrated one too and I agree with the jackson reasoning too, he keep saying he can't sing but that's actually the total opposite, he can sing really well.

I just wanna add that I legit searched up about GOT7 after randomly hearing JB's voice in some compilation video. For a moment I felt like I was in heaven. I loved his voice that much!!! At that time I was new to Kpop and couldn't really recognise people well. In fact for the first few days I couldn't really recognise him by his face but by his voice.
JB drew me to GOT7 and GOT7 drew me to kpop

He has such a unique voice in my opinion you can't find many artist who sound like him now and days
his solo songs does have him singing buts it's really hidden by the beats and music. He sang the song I love you 3000 which mainly stays at the same tone which wasn't very impressive cuz it doesn't showcase much of his unique voice and it has a lot potential

He cannot show his full potential because his voice doesn't fit the GOT7's concept. His voice is not common in k-pop, that's why mostly he does get less lines than JB. JB's voice is easier to insert into any song.
Moreover, GOT7's tipe of songs often fail to show the strength of his voice. Youngjae just needs a solo.

But I'm pretty sure youngjae has a more developed mixed voice and thus has a higher range for that type of voice, which is more supportive and technical than using falsetto. I like both tho! Tbh my fave got7 voice is jinyoung but their vocals are all amazing in their own way and very distinct 😊

Yup, this would be my ranking as well. Jaebeom's voice is just so unique and a huge part of GOT7's sound. I have to agree with you on Yugyeom, I've never been a big fan of his voice, but I do have to say that his voice shines a lot more in the album Focus (by Jus2, GOT7's subgroup consisting of him and Jaebeom). It suits this seductive urban style of music (I'm really bad with genres so I'm not even gonna try) and complements Jaebeom's voice beautifully.

I think JB's voice is really versatile and unique. Youngjae voice kinda open and operatic for me and that gives me goosebumps. But I can't really tell who's better since I'm not a professional but I prefer JB's voice because of its versatility.

However, they all can sing but it's not in the same quality that's how great boyband did for me. If everybody in the group can sing equally well, they would compete in the songs and that's disaster for me like it happened before in some groups. One of the main reason I love GOT7, they have many dimentions in their voice and rap which very flexible. No matter people said, I like all of their voice, 7 members with different tone and styles. Their voice are so unique and distinctive.

JB is my bias but probably I would put Youngjae in first place because the insane power of his voice; he always sounds clear and stable. But if we talk about feeling and other criterias, JB is number one for me.
He has not such a powerfull voice but instead his voice is versatile, unique, different and soulful; in my opinion it's full of life.

Great ranking. Totally agree with JB at the top. The only change I'd make is Jackson over Yugyeom. You are kind to say that Yugyeom has "forward facial placement". He sings in his nose. (Honestly, I personally find his singing outright annoying.) BTW, nice point about Jinyoung's lovely falsetto. Also, he's one of those high baritones who's often forced to sing at the top of his (natural voice) range and can't even do some of his solo tracks live because they are too hard to sing reliably.
BTW, I wonder if people seeing this after 2021 have considered that Youngjae's voice sounds a little different after some physical changes he's undergone.
We both love Run Away, a song Jinyoung wrote and both finds him our favorite personal vocalist in Got7 I have to stan.

Totally agree with your ranking.... Exactly what I thought! When it comes to singing, yes, you deliver the notes with powerful vocals (sometimes too loud that it hurts the ear), but the more difficult ones is the pulling back of the vocal power, which not many could do, but I think JB is getting there.

I really love Jackson's voice but I prefer when his voice is deep and raspy when he sings like in his solo songs 100 Ways and Bullet to the heart. He has a really unique voice and I'm glad that he shows it more in their last album album Not By The Moon.

Leave your Ranking bit stop telling him whom he should make first or second. It's up to people's taste. I think Yj has the most powerful voice as the main moan vocal but Jb's very much versatile and unique. For those who doesn't listen to Got7 songs that greatly go check out Love Loop. Someone hit the female key 5E which is rare to hear from a male vocal. And tell me who he was?! Stop dragging others voice to make it fit YOUR OPINION (see again, it's opinion) and just respect it. You don't have to say Yes it's true but also try to be less biased but objective. He said it's bcs of the versatile and vocal rage..Not that Yj is sooo bad.

i could see youngjae doing opera mostly because of his very open sound. but quite honestly, although he’s got a really great voice, i don’t really like it within a lot of got7’s music purely because his voice -i feel like- doesn’t fit a lot of their songs’ style. it fits for some, but personally it feels out of place a lot of the time. and i wish it didn’t seem that way. but it’s perfectly fine to disagree with me, as it seems a lot of people don’t share my opinion.

my favourites are definitely yugyeom and jinyoung but I understand why jb and youngjae are main vocalists.
In my opinion, actually note wise, especially for the lower ones, Bambam is more stable than Mark. I feel that Mark sounds shaky sometimes even when he raps. I think for Bambam, at the beginning when they debuted before his voice changed, he had a much lighter voice where he can hit those higher notes easily and he actually sounded really stable. Then, his voice changed and became a lot deeper, at that time, he was already mostly rapping and I don't think the company made him focus on his vocal anymore. So, In my opinion, he actually knows the notes, but he just doesn't know what to do to reach those higher notes after his voice changed.
Besides that, I totally agree with the comments that you have for the other members! Thank you for this video!

JB is the best singer of this group, and one of the most beautiful voices of kpop. GOT7 is blessed to have him as leader.
Jinyoung is my favorite voice, but he doesn’t have JB’s abilities, and still has some live stability issues.
As for Mark, he lacks confidence as always. If he was coached properly, and took some risks, he could improve a lot and make a better use of his deep voice.

I never thought I’d listen to a 22 min video but you were interesting enough to keep me on the whole way. I enjoyed your simple to understand explanations (for someone who doesn’t know music), as well as your very diplomatic approach to it, such as adding in that you might just not have seen all their abilities yet. Also for putting both Bambam’s joking and serious version AND CAPTIONING THAT!!
Would like to chime in that I would also like to see you do a DAY6 version if you haven’t yet.
Something I’d appreciate is maybe captions across the vocal clips like what you might be observing during each one that we should pay attention to as well. For me, I’m just relistening to vocals that I’m familiar with without perfectly knowing what I should be hearing or looking out for that you are.

jackson is something he says he can not sing and then he drops a solo album with a bunch of singing, i think he just didnt have confidence in his voice but he has improved a lot i really liked his solo stuf and the way he used his voice there

For me I will put JB and Youngjae put in 1st place. I love JB's versatility same I get shocked by Youngjae's vocals and stability . They really balance each other, one of my most favourite kpop main vocalist. They both are one of a kind of combination in KPOP. My favourite voice among them is JB because he put more emotions. Jinyoung is the king of falsetto and melodies for me. Yugyeom isn't that powerful but addictive. Gonna annoy on Jackson saying he can't sing after listening Bullet to heart and Let me switch part. Mark's rap is my favourite, that is so smooth. Yes, I enjoy BamBam rap too because of swag.
I agree Youngjae has more potential but he doesn't get a chance to show it because I notice that he every time get the same type of lines (hitting high note which he slays), like same with Jinyong getting falsetto and pre-chorus most of the time. I love how Jackson got pre-chorus of NBTM for showing his singing ability. I want such an opportunity for Youngjae.

Bam bam & Mark have less vocal videos on TH-cam but they actually can sing. They got deeper voices like Jackson so ofc it will never sound like Jb or Youngjae but they both definitely have vocals.
Jackson was actually trained singing, you really need to see videos of him singing it’s sounds really good.
Yugyeom has more of a soft/nasal voice but sounds really good and is soothing also props to him to have a tone that allows him to switch rap/ sing.
Youngjae Jb and Jinyoung are litterally the whole trinity. These videos doesn’t really showcase all of their vocals, I’ve seen them twice live and they really have ALL a really good singing voice !!!
You really underestimate those guys vocals even tho I agree on a lot of points, they have along and exo and Shinee the best vocals of all kpop and I’m talking live, I’ve seen a loooot of groups very famous and some less in concert and by far those 3 are can’t be surpassed live wise they be sounding like the their audio version.
