Not a hater but dont discourage people for not going Ladakh with small hatchback car i know problems can happen but the thing is you didnt have a rope with u instead u have a chain (btw which is not meant for towing cars) even though ur friend has XUV 500 which can easily pull ur car. So from next time keep a towing ropes with u.

I did this entire circuit from Mumbai on a SCOOTER. I started from Hunder at 4 am so that we could cross shyok at 11am when water was low. There was no issue. You just need to plan properly according to your vehicle.
