Thanks for putting this up! This was the last World Series on radio for Joe Garagiola. Do you have anymore of the 1975 World Series on radio? I’m curious to hear how Red Sox TV announcer Dick Stockton called the World Series on the radio.
I have all the games radio and all but Game 1 are from WNWS. I'd just note that Stockton takes over from Brennaman in the 9th inning when Brennaman had to go downstairs so you can hear him in this broadcast late.
@@epaddon cool, thanks! I listened halfway and just assumed it was Brennaman and Garagiola. Game 6 used 3 announcers and so did Game 7. Stockton did NBA Finals on CBS and Super Bowls internationally. I didn’t know he did a Game 7 of the World Series. The 1975 World Series was the only one Stockton did.
@@rjpsuh06 Yes, he lucked out because of his Red Sox affiliation. The next year, 1976 was the last year local announcers were included in the WS PBP on TV. 1978 was the last year they were part of the network radio broadcasts. They really IMO should bring back local television announcers on postseason or let the teams do their own local television as well as radio broadcasts for the home market because after 25 years, no one I know enjoys watching another World Series on Fox.
This 1975 was the weirdest announcing configuration in history. The radio side (NBC Radio) 1-Joe Garagiola & Marty Brennaman 2-Curt Gowdy & Brennaman 3-Garagiola & Ned Martin 4-Gowdy & Dick Stockton 5-same as game 3 6-Gowdy, Brennaman & Martin (late innings) 7-Garagiola, Brennaman & Stockton (late innings)
I'm sure WMAQ and others carried it. The New York situation I think was driven more by local management at WNBC not wanting to surrender the time like they'd done in years past, especially since this was the last WS NBC was going to ever do on radio.
@@MrJoeybabe25 ESPN has done the World Series since 1998 (CBS from 76 to 97) although the local teams have been allowed to do their own separate broadcasts on their own flagship stations since 1982. Thus we now get three radio broadcasts of the WS each year instead of just one like in the old days.
I love that the commercials are in there! Thank you for this historic game! Love the Redlegs!
Marty Brennaman (PBP) & Joe Garagiola (C) 1st half
Garagiola (PBP) & Brennaman (C) Bottom 5-7
Garagiola (PBP) & Dick Stockton (C) 8-9
Will you be adding Games 1 through 5 of 75 World Series soon? That would be fantastic!
