Soo there’s gonna be a roguelike where you design a roguelike, and the goal is to make your playerbase bigger and keep their enjoyment high. The final boss is getting game critics to enjoy it
Wow, that's fantastic! Thanks, Aliensrock, for playing Grow the Seed. We really love your editing. That baby tree was hilarious, adding that lil' pacifier is a nice touch. We're also joyful to watch you rocking our strategy game and growing that baby tree and scoring fruit currency!
I think this is a unique game. I was so excited when I tried the demo and ended up adding it to my Steam wishlist. I can't wait for the full release.🔥🔥
I tried out the game and (at least through the demo) thought it was a bit too easy. I still thought it was fun though, hopefully the new levels add more challenge in the full game! Also there seems to be a bug with the spray can, if you mash it it's easy to double-fire and shred pests
If this is the real production team. Would you ever consider removing the click attack during battles? It’s completely pointless and only takes away from the experience. I only say that because you normally just select that you want to attack in roguelikes not actually having to aim the attack.. I get that it would be unfortunate to have no defense on the surface and then the birds could kill you on the first week but there are simple ways around that by making bugs able to travel above and below ground to anywhere within their radius. I think it’d be an easy fix and would make this game 100x better if you could simply observe while the battle is happening so that you can see where your weaknesses are and the areas you need to adjust for the next weeks battles. I mean I’m just one guy but I feel like the idea has merit.
Finally a game I've actually played before! I'd recommend taking the extra pest routes, as they give you more level ups/cards. You just need to make a better defense. Also, only have scarabs underground and use caterpillars for stem defense. The wasps are only really worth it for the final boss.
This reminds me of that time I had a graywater pipe coming out of my house. The local tree *really* loved that pipe, the entire thing was just completely covered in roots. Had to redesign it though because those roots were plugging it up, so now we're both happy.
ONE second into the video and the editor already made me laugh 😂 Careful with the quality there, you might be setting an impossible standard for the future!
19:36 I was looking away from my computer and just looked back in time to see the Ram ram the tree. The editing was so good I thought it was actually in the game fore a sec.
Wow this new doki doki episode was so good I loved how you read each sentence with so much emotion and how you cosplay each girl EVERY SINGLE time they talk The first 2 seconds were a jumpscare
Omg yes thank you. I saw a random person play this and he didn't pay attention to the tutorial at all. I'm so excited to watch someone good at games play this
i was thinking it was awkward that I only had one root coming directly from my tree which doesn't look right but later on I realized that long winding roots are bad. Creating a realistically bunched-up tree is actually better for defence! By the end after I suddenly unlocked achievements and got miracles I found I was horrendously short of essence. I didn't see the goals until I completed them so I didn't realize how important they were the whole time. I also never had food problems, I wonder if that needs balancing. Overall, seems like a casual and relaxing game despite being a rogue-like that focuses on balance rather than crazy decks. Maybe that's okay. I noticed they changed "draw card" to 1 cost -> draw 2 cards. Makes more sense, wish I'd gotten that before the end of the demo.
15:15 trees are usually imbalanced to the way where the sun is so they get more from it (usually it's just the leaves but sometimes the tree itself is)
I think a cool way to make the root growth a little more realistic would be to make it a fog of war style where it's dark and the further you extend the roots, the more resources you see, that way you aren't reaching a single root arm out for miles to find one good resource
Day 1129 of telling Tyler that he never finished his minecraft series and that he should finish it. That intro there had me slightly concerned at first lol
10/10 for this game. The only thing I’m dreading about this game is the stupid click to attack…. Like I’d rather just play well and then just let the bugs defend. It’s boring and pointless to add an attack feature with the mouse. 0/10 for that part. But the rest of the game is still so cool I’d play the hell out of it if it were only available.
there is a similar concept to this called beecarbonise, card based game about saving the environment starting from 20th century industry into modern tech.
I feel like I remember there being a game a while ago that had similar root/stem placement mechanics although it definitely wasn't a roguelike and I think it was just like a chill/casual game.
Now i wanna see him play DDLC. Although with how old it is, the story is pretty much known already and Tyler doesnt look like hes scared thar easily anyways
Damn have they got a public issue tracker? I gotta report that tree for being buried too deep, need that root flare exposed please. This looks like a really cute game !
I did not read the thing properly, and did not know how to make the flowers turn to fruit. So I just had a BUNCH of flowers all hosted with wasps and hatred. This would have made the game so much easier...instead I woke up and chose violence...
I don't know if you take game requests here or not, but I would like to recommend 911 Operator. It has some pretty strategic and micromanagement heavy elements and I think you might enjoy it.
I think you're supposed to have access to a orange tree and a different level or at least when I tried they weren't listed as out of demo but I couldn't get either to unlock so I dunno
Dude it really sucks that devs don’t make this available on mobile…… like I would literally buy this game if they would just put it on mobile…… why limit your recourse gain?
The last youtuber i saw play this hated the attackers (manly scarab) due to them only attackin 1 enemy at a time and the price (he lost to the boss in that vid) (also thats just what i remember)
i swear developers be really making rogue-like games of literally anything
I’m gonna make a rouge-like game out of your comment
@@robertcampbell3302 Game Dev Tycoon but roguelike? I'd play it
Hmm... that got me an idea... watching the grass grow deckbuilder roguelite...
@@michasokoowski6651 I mean there's Crop Rotation
Soo there’s gonna be a roguelike where you design a roguelike, and the goal is to make your playerbase bigger and keep their enjoyment high. The final boss is getting game critics to enjoy it
Oh I was VERY concerned for a second there. Well done editors!
Fr I'm having war flashbacks
same
I had to stop the video for a minute.
Was not expecting a Doki Doki jumpscare
"growing a tree"

Yep ..
Baby tree concept editing zooming are truly something ..
😂😂😂

Game name?
I never thought that planting would be such a challenging game.
As an avocado farmer I was really happy to see you prioritizing the roots. people don't realize half the tree is underground. great vid.
This reminds me of that time I had a graywater pipe coming out of my house.
The local tree *really* loved that pipe, the entire thing was just completely covered in roots.

As someone interested in botony, growing plants really is sometimes like an -excruciating- interesting strategy game
ONE second into the video and the editor already made me laugh 😂 Careful with the quality there, you might be setting an impossible standard for the future!
Pretty unique game, looks like a nice change of pace!
Maybe you can try out Crop Rotation too, now that it's in full release :)
19:36 I was looking away from my computer and just looked back in time to see the Ram ram the tree. The editing was so good I thought it was actually in the game fore a sec.
I saw one guy on youtube playing it and instantly knew Tyler will play it too
Same lol
Same :D
Bro I just discovered this channel and I’m fr LOVING how he not only shows off underrated games, but makes entertaining and fun vids about them 🔥🔥🔥
Wow this new doki doki episode was so good
I loved how you read each sentence with so much emotion and how you cosplay each girl EVERY SINGLE time they talk
The first 2 seconds were a jumpscare
First impressions from the intro was that it's like that Oil Tycoon game
I would pay a ludicrous amount of money to see an Aliensrock Doki Doki Literature Club playthrough.
very interesting... I can't wait for the full version.
really captures that hidden gem flash game energy
Thank you Tyler for being the most strategic tree to ever exist
Omg yes thank you. I saw a random person play this and he didn't pay attention to the tutorial at all. I'm so excited to watch someone good at games play this

This game is so Interesting. The visuals are so cute and the defensive game play is so clever. Pls Tyler, play this again.
Makes me want to rewatch your Turmoil series for some reason
The idea of Tyler playing through DDLC is hilarious to me, i kinda wanna see what the fuck would happen
Mental flashbang in the beginning
15:15 trees are usually imbalanced to the way where the sun is so they get more from it (usually it's just the leaves but sometimes the tree itself is)

your right, this game is really interesting, i think a video of the full game when it releases could be pretty good
Gotta love how there's just small patches of water just scattered through the earth. Ya know instead of an actual water table.
tree build idea: keep it small, but grab as many draw/flower cards as possible.
Day 1129 of telling Tyler that he never finished his minecraft series and that he should finish it.
That intro there had me slightly concerned at first lol
ooh this is fun! watching you play it properly and your tree thriving
That huge grin at the end frame showed it all.
I am ROOTing for more TREEsome videos!
19:35 GETTING ATTACKED BY A CAR?! I died!
I’ve definitely seen a flash game like this before
I did NOT expect that intro slide.
You owe me a new cup of juice.

The fear in my heart when I saw Doki Doki literature club
Normally don't like strategy games, but this was pretty fun!
there is a similar concept to this called beecarbonise, card based game about saving the environment starting from 20th century industry into modern tech.
I'm rooting for this game ❤
This feels like turmoil, i love it
Oh no, the tree will grow a 4 Mana 7, 7.
I dont like deck builders but i might actually grab this. It reminds me of that one oil drilling game a bit which was super fun.
oh this game is SO cute 😭 i love this kind of chill and kind aesthetic. reminds me of terra nil
i love this. i hope you make more videos on it when it releases
It’s a good day went your favourite gamer TH-camr than recommended most of the steam games I play even if I’m picky with my games posts❤
I’ve played this before and it’s pretty fun.
Looking forward to more of this game
I swear it says "what if grooming is a strategy game" and I was like what if WHAT? Turns out it was growing lol. My sleep deprived eyes.
When i seen it originally i just knew that i wanted to see him play it :)
Fear Tyler and his mighty botany degree.
Finally, a game iv already seen before Tyler plays it.
I love this game! You need to do more!
That's a neat little game.
I wonder if you can stem back down into the ground at a different point to allow for rooting further from the center?
That looks kind of fun!
It reminds me of something, but I can't place my finger on it
Looks a bit like Turmoil
@@Wolfie2TMXi could kinda see slay the spire too. different cards you play plus a path you get to pick
I feel like I remember there being a game a while ago that had similar root/stem placement mechanics although it definitely wasn't a roguelike and I think it was just like a chill/casual game.
There's a board game with similar branch-growing methods. I can't remember the name of it though.
Heliotropism, by Verde?
Ah the beauty of life. Eat, grow, and get others to beat up what you can't beat yourself.
CHALLENGE MODE: Build your tree strait up and roots strait down.
Now i wanna see him play DDLC.
Although with how old it is, the story is pretty much known already and Tyler doesnt look like hes scared thar easily anyways
What a challenging game!!! 🤯😲
Tyler finally touched nature
I really like this game please play it more😄
This seems really fun!
Tyler DDLC playthrough when?
You need to make more of this!
Guess you could say there is a lot of stratatree.
Since trees don't grow downwards I imagine the underground tiles being the soil which surrounds the tree close to the surface
This game reminds me of that oil game from a bit back
you should look at these doomed isles if you enjoyed this game
its still being developed but is really fun
hey Tyler the fruit you must harvest in 2 day
and if you harvest 3 time you will get the achievement
this is a tip for this game
Damn have they got a public issue tracker? I gotta report that tree for being buried too deep, need that root flare exposed please. This looks like a really cute game !

another day, another game tyler plays with apples
I don't know if you take game requests here or not, but I would like to recommend 911 Operator. It has some pretty strategic and micromanagement heavy elements and I think you might enjoy it.
Huh, very neat game with an unexpected premise
I think you're supposed to have access to a orange tree and a different level or at least when I tried they weren't listed as out of demo but I couldn't get either to unlock so I dunno
You didnt have to give us PTSD at the start of the vid
You should try a game called relicta(3d puzzle game like Talos principles), i'm curious what you think about it!
I wish TH-cam let you change font sizes so I could write hahahahaha with consecutively smaller letters.
I remember the day this released
I think the intro was funny :)
I wish my mom would let me play.
Dude it really sucks that devs don’t make this available on mobile…… like I would literally buy this game if they would just put it on mobile…… why limit your recourse gain?
The tree must grow.
this game is a fever dream
We need more.
YES he played it!
Next hotpick rougelike:
Upgrade your Chemicals
Please play backpack battles! It's very your style
I played a game JUST like this minus the card system wayyy back in the Flash days
Am I the only that remembers a flash game that was basically like this?
Guys fun fact trees don’t actually get food from the ground most of their mass comes from what they capture in the air
I think this game was recommended to me once.
4:38 as a midwesterner this is totaly true
The worms are way too op for no reason 💀
The last youtuber i saw play this hated the attackers (manly scarab) due to them only attackin 1 enemy at a time and the price (he lost to the boss in that vid) (also thats just what i remember)
got scared there for a moment
Pretty cool
great game!
