You missed out some of the best bits. From Bergen there are a series of spiral tunnels, junctions in tunnels and some real good bridges. The flat areas on the southern road in Iceland is subject to regular flooding with some bridges being washed away when volcanoes inland melt the glaciers. There is a noticeable change in handling character switching from two axle to three axle, also the mid tag axle gives a longer wheelbase when lifted. The rigid 6x4 combo tends to ('push)' oversteer in corners. A lifted tag axle can give you better traction for short distances on poor surface conditions, but reduces handling. Put the new garage and helper where there are the most loads inbound and outbound for your operations. Before I switched to FS17 I reached level 124, 91 small garages, 15 large garages, 255 trucks owned (some spares), full complement of helpers. 2016 Basic game before France was modified.
Since the last update ETS2 includes time spent on a ferry in the route calculation. It helps quite a lot, as you can now include real ferry lines without the GPS doing strange anomalies like going from Latvia to Germany via Sweden, but it's also good for some weird behaviour like here when the time spent on a ferry route isn't set quite correctly.
Technically you would only need to lower the lift axle to take the weight up from 40 tonnes to 44 tonnes to drive legally on UK roads (not sure about on the continent). However the steering mid lift axle does provide better cornering while pulling a trailer. I would like to see on ETS2 the relatively new small mid lift wheels trucks have now which don't provide any steering and are just deployed when the weight of the truck and load is greater than 40 tonnes.
It is also about weight limits on a particular axle, nearly all the trucks today drop the midlift automatically if it senses enough weight, I drive a 2017 Volvo FH and that particular truck wants the mid lift dropped somewhere between 5 and 8 ton.
Hi Dagger, you dont have to upgrade or buy another garage in order to hire workers. Your first garage holds space for three trucks (you, worker A & worker B). You do need to buy another truck tho (i’d buy an pretty standard Scania or DAF). Then you can hire worker A and place them on the second truck. Hopefully it will help you out! Looking forward to the next ETS2 episode.
Breezy actually, the standard garrage is the only "tiny" size garage, so it holds only one truck. You need to upgrade it to small garage which then can hold 3 trucks. In my opinion dagger could get another garage (as upgrading costs the same as new garage I thing) so he will get actually one free gsrage slot. Also I'd love some diversity, so you could give your scania to a worker and swap trucks for let's say a renault magnum, as it in the best truck to drive in my opinion as you sit the highest which results in the best visibility. Also it is actually pretty short so maneuverability is also quite good (especially with tag lift). It is a quite rare truck to see in ETS MP as everyone drives scanias and volvos as they've got the highiest horsepower rating, but that 520 horse inthe magnum is plenty enough even for heavy cargo. I also reccomend using manual transmission with realistic range splitter setup as it gives you way more controll over the truck and makes up for that slight lack of power. Trust me, the less powerfull your truck is and the more shifting you have to do, the more fun the journey is.
Breezy yep, the starting garage is only one slot. Start a new save game and check it yourself. You can change the main garage by movimg your truck to a different place, but the starting garage is indeed only one truck garage.
You are doing it correctly on your ferry choice. Go to Sweeden and then direction OSLO. You are driving very skillfully, it was a nice tour over Iceland, I must say, just like in FS19.
Daggerwin Hi buddy, a quick question which has no doubt been asked before, what’s your preferred method for looking around in cab when driving in this game?
You should visit Nordkapp in northern Norway. Beautiful place and it would showcase scandinavia pretty well since you would have to cross Norway and pass through Sweden and Finland to get there.
Well regarding a liftable axle, if you want to be legal, you would use it once you reach a specific weight, which varies depending on countries, and truck & trailer setup. It's to reduce the wear and tear on the roads mostly, to distribute the weight over a bigger area, and to reduce the beating your suspension and drive axle have to endure. Although I almost always keep it down IRL as long as I have the slightest load, unless it's slippery and I need more traction on my drive axle. Scanias have a "security" function IRL; you can't raise the axle if you weigh above a certain weight. I don't know exactly how much it is but it's only a few tons over empty weight before it kicks in. If you are turning around in a tight space and you don't have a steereable axle, you would raise it to give you a slightly tighter turning circle.
The mid lift on a scania will automatically lower when the drive axle loading exceeds 10 ton. It's to keep the axle weights within the legal limit but decreases traction on the rear axle so when empty or solo it is lifted to prevent wheel spin and skidding. I drive a scania and it has shite traction most of the time.
When a truck has 3 axles, one would lift one only when in tight spaces, i.e. when reversing a trailer or coupling a trailer, because it improves turning radius, reduces skidding and unnecessary wear and tear of tires due to sharp turns and makes life so much more easier for the driver. But, when driving on road (above 20 kph) all axles should be lowered no matter what. Nowadays most trucks (if not all of them) have automatic regulation for axles, they will automatically lower lifted axle when truck goes over 20 kph. When all axles are lowered center of gravity is much lower, therefore more stability for the trailer which means one can more comfortably tow much more heavier loads.
Hi Daggerwin, just wanted to say that when you configure your truck you don't pay until you don't conferm the order. For example, when you upgraded the sideskirts and these were removed by upgrading the chassis, when conferming the order you wouldn't have paid for the sideskirts since they got removed from it. Also, speaking of sideskirts, instead of those you have ultimately bought, you could have gotten the painted skirts with stock exhaust II, as the price difference was small but the look of it is better IMO. Anyway, your truck, your choice of taste. You can upgrade your base garage as well as the others. If you open up the garage management screen if you select your garage, underneath its icon it says "Upgrade". I think from small to medium its 180k £ Nice video, have a nice sunday :)
The mid lift is used to reduce the GAWR(gross axle weight rating) and in Scandinavia the maximum load restrictions are 10 tonnes (22,000 lb) on a single axle.
The lift comes down at round about 8 or 9 tonne but it depends how there set up but it helps keep the weight off the rear wheels spreads the weight but it’s a pain on a hill or a hump as the drive wheels are on the back...
Stick with me buddy, gonna be a long one...I was thinking while I watched this episode. good job again by the way. I was reminded of an older game (MS Flight Simulator) from several years ago. Of course before Microsoft screwed the whole thing up with that last release that basically tanked the whole thing. Anyway, back on topic. Back in the early years of FSX there was quite a large online playing group of folks around the world that established virtual airlines and flew actual flight plans tracking each other quite nicely. In this, there were included groups of folks that were able to use mods and other programs to integrate and work the Air Traffic Control services for the pilots that were flying online. This added to the realism and made for hours of enjoyment with many friends from across the globe. I'm wondering if any of the gaming companies had thought about doing something integrated with a shipping theme. I only think about it with this Truck simulator game both Euro and American. I'm sure there would be enough online players that would join the jun as both railway operators and Waterway freight operators. Wouldn't it be nice if an online world of collaboration could be established where simulator trucks could deliver and pick up goods to an from both railroad simulator players and freight shipping simulator players? Anyway, just a thought I had, and wondered what you thought about it. Lots of fond memories from back in the good old flight simulator days. I figure if we have the train simulators, truck simulators, farming simulators, and ship simulators, why not get them integrated and join some co-op playing... Cheers, great job on the videos, way better than the local television sitcoms these days.
Hi it is paul this is what a midlift A taglift means that you can lift the back wheels of your truck from the ground. A midlift means that you can lift the last but one wheels of your truck. Truckers do this to consume less fuel when they aren't loaded.
+Wilson Xx its just up or down, you can assign another button to lift a trailer axle, i use y because thats next to the u, you can do that at the controls and buttons at the menu under options
Hi Dagger. I don't know if anyone has said this before, but the currency is actually different to each other. For example, i play with SEK (swedish krona) and if i switch to EUR then the "sum" is different. So there is some sort of exchange rate in the game even if it probably isn't "up to date". Check it out. I came to think of this when you said pounds but clearly have euro selected. Have a great one.
You use midlift up when you not have cargo to save fuel, and down when you have cargo to get better weightdistribution on your axels a boggie has lesser weight/axel than a single axel, and that does that you can go on roads with weight/axel restiction with cargo.
I got it sorted!!I put the trailer 1.1 mods and the 2.2 somehow in2 diffrent folders.Figured it out eventually tho, thank God i'm slightly masacistic.Looking forward to finally driving round Northern/southern ireland.Too late now uk time but will free roam to L'Derry and pop in with the wife for a cuppa tea.Iceland looks amazing also Daggerwin".
Midlift you only have to put down whit heavy load or if the biggest piece of the load is on the truck(more than 10 tons) normally a trailer can have 30 tons truck 12 or 20 1 or 2 axles and it lift axle is for saving tyres
Also when axle is down it makes the truck less manoeuvrable. . A tag of mid lift is to do with wheel base between front and drive axle the shorter the distance the more manoeuvrable it is but ride is worse. Long wheel base is more comfortable but less manoeuvrable
Hi there! When you want to buy a garage or multiple garages at other locations while using a mod (like Promods or TruckSim) it is the best thing to buy a garage in a city that’s also in the base game. Why? If Promods stops making maps and SCS is developing more versions and the mod is outdated, than you can’t change anything with the garages since the city where it’s in disappeared ;) So I would advice, buy a garage in the UK in a base city like Edinburgh, London etc
hi daggwer i am from greece and i am a big fan of you i watch you from your fs15 first video and i try to be like you in my game play , you are doing a really nice and fun video i like you a lot .. i dont lose episode of what you are doing . i made a comment in an other episode but you didnt see it i hope you gonna see this one (plz answer me because i think i am the first that seeing you from greece)
The midlift is for eventing the weight on the axles so if you have a 30 ton trailer the weight on the axles isnt or almost isnt legal. ( This is in the nethelands)
the middel wheel is for 12 more tons. its for if you have a real heavy load in the Netherlands you cant drive with to much weight. that decided the law. because its bad for your wheels and bad for the road. my dad said that to me because he is a crane driver. i hope you see this commend ❤ your vidoes sorry for the bad english😂
Hi daggerwin. Your starting garage can be upgraded to 3 truck spaces. It costed €180 thousand. You can then buy a truck and hire a worker. Hope this helps.
i was in iceland and it was my first time using promods and i found it gobsmacking beautiful and very realistic and i went to iceland and i went the snowy way round and i used the ice spots as a ice rink and it was really fun
should have got the 6x4 truck , 6x4 will give more drive axels which is good for driving in snow with lot of load ... lift up the axel if you need bit more traction!!!
F208 is a fun road, more suitable for a rally game :) Southern route is easier, the others are very slippery at some spots, the south route is some 700+km
Just a heads up, Cattle & Crops is now slated for Steam early access release on February 13th. They've pushed it back in the past, but that's close enough to make me think this one's for real. I think you said you'd backed it? That should, I think, allow you to download the latest "Community" early access version if you want to get acclimatised before doing any vids on it.
Hello daggerwin You can upgrade your starting garaged if you first off look at the company status click on company manager then click on garage manager then click on the garage itself your notice Little picture of the garage it will say upgrade click on the button it will say do you wish to upgrade the garage then you can have three trucks and three drivers then you can upgrade it again to have five trucks and five drivers I hope that helps answer your question
hi daggerwin can you got to melton in eastmdlands plz and the mildlift you have that up when you have nothing on the back and have it down when you have a trailer on the back
Hi Daggerwin! Awesome video like always! Can you make a tutorial on how to record ETS2 like you do. My pc is very powerful but somehow it doesn't record well via OBS.
got to garage manager and in the upper left, just below the picture of the garage click on upgrade. The thing is, upgrading Your first garage costs exactly the same as buying a new garage, so go ahead and establish a garage where You like.
By raising the tag axle, you have a shorter wheelbase, so it's slightly more maneuverable when raised compared to a midlift. But it doesn't have a steering axle unlike the midlift
Taglift DOES NOT have a steering axle, because when you raise the 3rd axle, the second one provides traction, and traction axle does not steer. And 3rd axle doesn't steer either, 'cause when lowered, it is the driving axle
hi wonder if you could help me, iv not played my ETS2 in a while so i just need update it with my Promods and Rusmap etc. now i used d.b creation for the ai traffic just wondered if you used it at all or is their something better for traffic?
Daggerwin, Is Iceland accessible by Promods? Also could you please share a link to all the mods you used in the description(like a spreadsheet/list of all mods you download or use)? Also, how did u get that dual scale dashboard? Ty
Nice parking job! Hated the cuts though. They break the immersion for me. Turning off fatigue and loading saves?? You didn't even experience the blackouts or the rescue mechanic. Very disappointing.
I downloaded the promods pack, everything wprked but the map mod.I only got the game on wedensday and DLC.Ipdated to v1.30 yesterday also.Is there something i'm missing for the map mod to work?it just says that it's incompatible.Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm a new pc gamer,i'd love to get the ireland map also as i live in northern ireland.
I live in Selfoss and it is so weird to see how diffrent but still so familiar it looks. Its funny and unsettling at the same time

PhantomMark that’s awesome

Nice to see a longer video 👍
it's really as beatyful in real iceland as it looks in the sim and its even more realistic than the original ETS2 maps
i was in iceland and it was my first time using promods and i found it gobsmacking beautiful and very realistic and i went to iceland and i went the snowy way round and i used the ice spots as a ice rink and it was really fun
quite funny how you can tell you're not used to driving on the right hand side. just driving in the middle of the road.
Out in America I see mid lifts used for heavy loads and better traction with big loads but I have never see it down with no load
except for 33:28 they in real life only take the trailers (pretty cool to watch them loading them onto the ferry with their speacial tractors)
should have got the 6x4 truck , 6x4 will give more drive axels which is good for driving in snow with lot of load ... lift up the axel if you need bit more traction!!!
+Daggerwin you are better off to use a 6x4 configuration for best weight distribution and traction since you have two drive axles instead of one
Great video! I'm living in Kristiansand, so hope you pass trough there if you are going back to the UK :-)
F208 is a fun road, more suitable for a rally game :)
Southern route is easier, the others are very slippery at some spots, the south route is some 700+km
At level 18 you can get a strobe 🤗
Frederikshavn is roughly "Fredriks-harbour" in Danish
Lazy axle is best down when under load, for stability
Fun to hear you pronounce Danish names. Come from Denmark
Best video.

Hi dagger can u please bring back multiplayer on fs thank great vid (:
For some reason your voice sounds like Mumbo Jumbo, nice video!
Great gameplay keep up the great work
a Brazilian in Promods Gameplayers frequent in the channel. hugs.
I love your videos i watch all of your fs 17 videos when is multiplayer coming back?
CodyPlays never
I liked the time lapse song from 17:15 onwards. What is the song, if you can tell?
hi daggerwin can you got to melton in eastmdlands plz and the mildlift you have that up when you have nothing on the back and have it down when you have a trailer on the back
Hi Daggerwin! Awesome video like always! Can you make a tutorial on how to record ETS2 like you do. My pc is very powerful but somehow it doesn't record well via OBS.
Very good video with timelaps
WOW looks amazing!
You can just expand your first garage . It isn t necesary to buy a new one.
How would I expand the garage? Thanks
Go menu, company, garages click the one you like to expand and after on the top-left corner is a box that says expand.
If this didn t help just google it. Good luck.(sry for bad spelling)
got to garage manager and in the upper left, just below the picture of the garage
click on upgrade. The thing is, upgrading Your first garage costs exactly the same
as buying a new garage, so go ahead and establish a garage where You like.
It's not south norway. It is East norway.
I thought the garage had space for 3 trucks
Maybe but I think my starting garage is just 1 space
Yes I might have upgraded from 1 space to 3 spaces, then upgraded it to 5 spaces. So you can upgrade or buy a new one
Daggerwin
Love the 1st. and the 3rd music daggerwin what's it's called.??
Daggerwin how do u get the dual scale dashboard for new Gen Scania? Please help! Ty
Wilson Lau Wei Sheng That’s the new Scania.
You can just upgrade the Garage you already have, to have up to 5 spaces!
Have you seen that there is going to be a new Map expansion for Ets2.. I hope that it is going to be the balkans and some parts of finland maybe...
Please go to Slovenia too when you will go to Italy or Austria.
Since both midlift and taglift have steering axle. they make easier manuverabilty
Taglift doesn't have steering axle, only midlift does
Lorenzo Pappatico I thought it increases manuverability
By raising the tag axle, you have a shorter wheelbase, so it's slightly more maneuverable when raised compared to a midlift. But it doesn't have a steering axle unlike the midlift
Lorenzo Pappatico tag lift has a steering axle the middle one will steer as well
Taglift DOES NOT have a steering axle, because when you raise the 3rd axle, the second one provides traction, and traction axle does not steer. And 3rd axle doesn't steer either, 'cause when lowered, it is the driving axle

Nice parking job! Hated the cuts though. They break the immersion for me. Turning off fatigue and loading saves?? You didn't even experience the blackouts or the rescue mechanic. Very disappointing.

Daimonddcraft1 they are Ai traffics. not his convoy groups.
