I bought one of these 40th anniversary standards about a year ago and it has become my number 1 guitar ever since. Mine is black with a rosewood board, but I really like the uniqueness of this caribbean mist green. Pickups are very well balanced indeed, specially in comparison to fender more vintage type of pickups. The neck is really comfortable, not thick nor thin. I also enjoy the treble boost on the bridge pot. All the commemorative cosmetics definitely adds to the instrument’s appeal, definitely a piece of history. Very nice playing, btw. Cheers.

90s Fender rosewood looks so nice. Guitar sounds great

I've been reading that most strats from the early 90s were poplar bodies. I picked up a 94 Am Std and its surprisingly light. I think it might unfortunately be poplar :(

You should be able to check via fenders serial number look up tool. Most of the 90s stuff is still listed with the specs for that serial number. Cheers -Ryan

Hey you make even a strat sound good! I not really a Strat Guy. Maybe it's just me, but I could never bond with a strat. I guess the bridge pickup sounds too thin for me. If I were to get a strat, I would get one with an HSS configuration. That's just me.

The Bridge Pickup on Strat can be a little tricky... but there's a reason why it has its' own Tone Control! Cheers -Ryan
