The original is pretty good, and the song is a banger. Makes you feel like your in a war and makes you motivated.
Its incredible how this tech has evolved over the years. I initially had a vocaloid phase back in the 2010's and drifted away from it for various reasons, but I've reconnected with it over the past year or so, and seeing what vocal synthesizers can do now is just amazing. Back when I first became a fan of this sort of thing there was no denying that using a vocaloid was a stylistic choice at best, and for many it was probably just a compromise. I still enjoy that era of vocaloid, but I enjoy it in the way one might enjoy retro video game music even though we have access to much more powerful, realistic sounding synthesized instruments in the modern day. Its not that its better, and it never will be, but its a unique sound that some people have a talent for using to its fullest.
But this? I could have easily been fooled into thinking this was a human vocalist singing if the title didn't say it was a synthesizer. Some other artists have made works that I actually DID fool me at first because the fact they had a synthetic vocalist wasn't shown front and center. 12 or so years ago when I first got into vocaloid I couldn't have even imagined that, and yet here we are, with this intriguing technology that once managed to captivate the world continuing to push the boundaries.
I see Hiroyuki Sawano and Stardust, I click. Incredible job!

@@vicerine22 Vocaloid will always be a historically significant piece of technology that really exposed voice synthesizers to the world at large, and while we would have reached this point eventually anyway, it might still be decades out if Miku hadn't swept the world like she did.
That said, just because Vocaloid got us started is no reason not to acknowledge the fact that its falling behind. Its no longer the most advanced player, and indeed is lagging significantly behind SynthV from what I can tell. The fact that it revolutionized the field doesn't change that.

(very late response) but yeah sawano hiroyuki creates a lot of music used in animes, notably attack on titan, which uses a lot of german
