Please how do you draft overlap slit directly on the material without using pattern

Hi, you may Draft directly on the fabric simply by adding the allowance just like you would for zipper allowance. But it is best to add the overlap allowances on the pattern before placing on fabric so one doesn't forget. Thanks

When you cut out dart, all you have is seam and you simply join/ sew it together after adding seam. Thanks
