Progressive isn't the continuation of this arc - Progressive is the Aincrad arc, specifically from Asuna's POV. Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night is the first floor of SAO.

0:30 - Right of the back, we get naked Alice in a box. That's all I'm gonna say. Alice has to keep charging her metal body to stay walking. Alice can't eat/drink anything. During the spar, in the LN's, the swords slipped out of their hands because of how weak they are, and since Alice can't move much, Alice steal headbutts Kirito lol The note that Alice received was from Star King, with the help of Kayaba, they were able to help Kirito get back to the Underworld. Sti and Laura are the descendants of Tiese and Ronnie, 7 generations later. There are now Integrity Pilots. Spoilers if you want to know how Tiese marries: Renly I believe it's rumored that Star King and Star Queen died from the abyssal horror, but idk

There are a lot of people that actually didn't give Sao a chance since the first season and really have missed out on something quite amazing in my opinion. Kirito goal was to extend beyond the boarder of the world and manage to find a sister planet. One world is named Admina and the other Cardina and you two won't know this but the emblem in their ship was seen in Accel World set 20 to 30 years later. Please watch Accel World or SAO Alternative
Both pilots are descendants of Ronye and Tiese, but it is hinted that part of their fluctlights might be inherited by these 2 pilots. Also, Kirito is the one that developed the spacecraft, with the help of the elevator girl and the guy that made his night sky sword.
I never understand some of the changes the anime does xD Like in the novels, Kirito vs Alice fight,, it clearly stated that due to both of them being out of shape, Kirito being weaker in Real life and Alice having a robot body, both their Bamboo Sword slip out of their hand upon impact and they fell. But Anime make them so strong that they broke the sword somehow... why ? lol
I really loved watching your reacts to the entire SAO series. It was alot of fun reliving it through your eyes. Especially during this time when most movies were scraped. And entertainment was harder to find. btw, a small translation note. I'm not a japanese speaker. But I've noticed that "star" often isn't translated right. It seems the japanese word actually means a "heavenly body". Which can be a star. Or a planet. It gets confusing for us english speakers. So when you hear "star", think "heavenly body". :) Also, like some have noted, Progressive isn't the next arc. It's a retelling of the Aincrad arc. Moon Cradle is the next story, but it's a story during when Asuna and Kirito were trapped inside Underworld. Then finally Unital Ring is the next arc. But the books aren't finished yet. The first book just got released in english.
The whole confusion over the word "hoshi" caused soooo many problems for the Final Fantasy XV fandom lol. People were getting so confused when the English translation referred to the world of Eos as a "star" when it's obviously a planet.
Well, I learned something there. It's probably not unlike "star" in English, then. The meaning of this word now is a lot different from what it used to be. Originally, "star" just meant any luminous dot in the night sky (maybe also the Moon and Sun), since their true natures were unknown for most of history. What we know (more or less) as true stars were called "fixed stars", and the planets were called "wandering stars". The word "planet" is a shortening of a Greek phrase with the latter meaning. All that said, Japanese, by whatever means, acquired terms with the same meanings: 恒星 "kōsei" and 惑星 "wakusei", respectively, so anyone wanting to specify can use them, and I agree translators should consider that 星 "hoshi" might not refer to literal stars.

What follows chronologically is the "Unityal Ring" arc but before this would be the "Moon Acred" arc, where they tell us what happened during the 200 years that Kirito and Asuna were in Underword. Progressive is what they did not tell us about the Aincrad arc in season 1, the creator made this story to further reinforce the relationship between Kirito and Asuna while telling us about things that were not seen, or were skipped in the first season.
a little correction. That last bit was not 200 years from the last time we saw the underworld. We are not told at what speed acceleration the world is at, we are only told that it has come out of max accel phase. There are a few holes in the plot and time, but we can assume that kirito and asuna did not recover immediately, meaning that there must have been at least weeks, or even months of time before this all happened. If the acceleration was faster than before, it's safe to assume a few hundred more years have at least passed, or maybe even hit the thousand year mark. That's how they're so advanced. A little bits of kirito's exploits are told in the Moon Cradle books, which I hope are going to be adapted into a movie.
That wasn’t Ronye and Tiese in those ships those were their decedents but it’s weird that the red hair girl sees Eugeo(who was long dead before this)and has feelings for him.
I think they're reincarnations of Ronye and Tiese. Remember, the Underworld gets souls/fluctlights from the real world but was disconnected when it went full acceleration, then RATH was dissolved. The Underworld probably learned how to recycle fluctlights from the Lightcube so new children could be born.
@@avillegas8857 Underworld does not recycle fluctlights. Some memories can be passed through generations, because of how Underworld is constructed, but it's impossible to recycle fluctlights. Underworld didn't have any problems with accessing the templates, it was still operating the same. It was just impossible to observe it and LogOut/LogIn people and only that.

@@avillegas8857 RATH basically copied 10 newborns fluctlights(because they have no memories) and used them as a template for new fluctlights. All templates are the same, but they're using 10 of them because it's apparently more efficient.

PROGRESSIVE is not a continuation it is the very first OG arc in Aincrad but very very detailed with every boss battle.. more Kirito and Asuna I depth on their relationship and much more characters

I’m excited about Progressive, but I’m even more excited about the next arc. Kirito, Asuna, and Alice are gonna be gods to the Underworld/Star World inhabitants.
The next upcoming entry in the series is SAO "Progressive" which is a retelling of the aincrad arc floor by floor. It will be adapted to a movie and be released this year. The next main arc is called "Unital Ring" which will serve as the final arc of SAO as a whole. The light novels are still ongoing so it might take a few more years to get an anime adaptation.
Stica and Laurannei are direct descendants of Tiese (and Renly) and Ronye (and an unknown husband), respectively. This isn't really spoiler because there appear to be no plans to adapt Moon Cradle into anime (or even finish it, apparently), but Tiese and Ronye would go on to become the first two unsynthesized Integrity Knights - Tiese Schtrinen 32 and Ronye Arabel 33 - based on their actions during the overthrow of the four kingdoms' royal families. The Schtrinen and Arabel families would be friends for generations, which is why Stica and Laurannei are the close friends that they are.
My understanding is SAO Progressive is a return to SAO told from Asuna's perspective rather than Kirito. The Inter-Intelligence War is going to be a new arc but will probably take years to produce.

Quick reminder that this episode takes place in...well, iirc it is 2026, so about 5 years from now. While this series takes place in a world somewhat more advanced (practical quantum computers with widespread usage, non-invasive brain-machine interfaces with full sensory simulation, etc.), it’s not the future-future. No flying cars or anything, and most certainly no way to impart taste and touch to an android the way they can simulate those senses digitally. tl;dr Alice cannot eat sushi in the real world. That is all I wanted to say.

New season won’t come out for like 3 or more years since the author plans to make it the longest arc which made Alicization long to finish and was the longest arc in SAO so far. Progressive is a spin-off possibly movies since the first will be a movie of when Kirito and Asuna were in SAO going on each floor and clearing them.

this is the prologue for unital ring, progressive is a retelling of the aincrad but in more detail. progressive will give us more sao content and re introduce a character that will be featured prominently in the next arc. Alot already explained it, so I guess we should wait if they will adapt Moon Cradle at least in OVA form and wait for Unital Ring to be finished and adapted. I think they will focus in adaptation Progressive for now to buy enough time for Unital Ring and Progressive LN as well that I think now even reached floor 10.
She's jealous about Asuna in some different ways and about some different things. Alice is like an "alpha female" and them Asuna appeared from heaven saving everyone like a god, as beautiful as a goddess, leading the human realm army better than anyone, fighting as good as the Integrity Knights and faster than them, proclaiming herself girlfriend of a guy that Alice took care for months. Alice confessed these feelings about Asuna in LN vol 16, in a monologue that anime cut. In Unitial Ring, next arc, they are good friends, and of course, Alice accept Kirito and Asuna relationship.

If you consider the side stories Reki Kawahara has written, Sugu and Alice are basically best friends, very similar to how Asuna and Shino (Sinon) became best friends after she was brought into the group.
I think the monsters are "remnants" or either Vecta or PoH. The eye inside that space monster looked like Vecta's. I have no proof and I don't read the light novel, but I think this next and maybe final SAO arc will involve world governments trying to do something to the Underworld and a Hidden threat slowly going out of control in the Underworld that might be a REAL threat digitally and physically, aka reality.

SAO Progressive is not a continuation of SAO per se. It is more of a movie on the beginning of the anime in Sword Art Online the game. My understanding is that it will go over the first few floors of SAO, expanding on Asuna and Kirito.

Kirito goal was to extend beyond the boarder of the world and manage to find a sister planet. One world is named Admina and the other Cardina and you two won't know this but the emblem in their ship was seen in Accel World set 20 to 30 years later. Please watch Accel World or SAO Alternative

Like in the novels, Kirito vs Alice fight,, it clearly stated that due to both of them being out of shape, Kirito being weaker in Real life and Alice having a robot body, both their Bamboo Sword slip out of their hand upon impact and they fell.

I really loved watching your reacts to the entire SAO series. It was alot of fun reliving it through your eyes. Especially during this time when most movies were scraped. And entertainment was harder to find.
btw, a small translation note. I'm not a japanese speaker. But I've noticed that "star" often isn't translated right. It seems the japanese word actually means a "heavenly body". Which can be a star. Or a planet. It gets confusing for us english speakers. So when you hear "star", think "heavenly body". :)
Also, like some have noted, Progressive isn't the next arc. It's a retelling of the Aincrad arc. Moon Cradle is the next story, but it's a story during when Asuna and Kirito were trapped inside Underworld. Then finally Unital Ring is the next arc. But the books aren't finished yet. The first book just got released in english.
The whole confusion over the word "hoshi" caused soooo many problems for the Final Fantasy XV fandom lol. People were getting so confused when the English translation referred to the world of Eos as a "star" when it's obviously a planet.
Well, I learned something there. It's probably not unlike "star" in English, then. The meaning of this word now is a lot different from what it used to be. Originally, "star" just meant any luminous dot in the night sky (maybe also the Moon and Sun), since their true natures were unknown for most of history. What we know (more or less) as true stars were called "fixed stars", and the planets were called "wandering stars". The word "planet" is a shortening of a Greek phrase with the latter meaning.
All that said, Japanese, by whatever means, acquired terms with the same meanings: 恒星 "kōsei" and 惑星 "wakusei", respectively, so anyone wanting to specify can use them, and I agree translators should consider that 星 "hoshi" might not refer to literal stars.

What follows chronologically is the "Unityal Ring" arc but before this would be the "Moon Acred" arc, where they tell us what happened during the 200 years that Kirito and Asuna were in Underword.
Progressive is what they did not tell us about the Aincrad arc in season 1, the creator made this story to further reinforce the relationship between Kirito and Asuna while telling us about things that were not seen, or were skipped in the first season.
Moon Cradle is only about the events during a week 2-years in to the accelerated phase.
It wasn't Ronie and Tiese..
It was their descendants Sti and Laura.
“And the universe itself shuddered at his might” that’s talking about Kirito
a little correction. That last bit was not 200 years from the last time we saw the underworld. We are not told at what speed acceleration the world is at, we are only told that it has come out of max accel phase. There are a few holes in the plot and time, but we can assume that kirito and asuna did not recover immediately, meaning that there must have been at least weeks, or even months of time before this all happened. If the acceleration was faster than before, it's safe to assume a few hundred more years have at least passed, or maybe even hit the thousand year mark. That's how they're so advanced. A little bits of kirito's exploits are told in the Moon Cradle books, which I hope are going to be adapted into a movie.
That wasn’t Ronye and Tiese in those ships those were their decedents but it’s weird that the red hair girl sees Eugeo(who was long dead before this)and has feelings for him.
I think they're reincarnations of Ronye and Tiese. Remember, the Underworld gets souls/fluctlights from the real world but was disconnected when it went full acceleration, then RATH was dissolved. The Underworld probably learned how to recycle fluctlights from the Lightcube so new children could be born.
@@avillegas8857 Underworld does not recycle fluctlights. Some memories can be passed through generations, because of how Underworld is constructed, but it's impossible to recycle fluctlights. Underworld didn't have any problems with accessing the templates, it was still operating the same. It was just impossible to observe it and LogOut/LogIn people and only that.

@@avillegas8857 RATH basically copied 10 newborns fluctlights(because they have no memories) and used them as a template for new fluctlights. All templates are the same, but they're using 10 of them because it's apparently more efficient.

PROGRESSIVE is not a continuation it is the very first OG arc in Aincrad but very very detailed with every boss battle.. more Kirito and Asuna I depth on their relationship and much more characters

Technically they're osmanthus (olive) flowers and not sunflowers, but yes, it's a very cool crest.
I’m excited about Progressive, but I’m even more excited about the next arc. Kirito, Asuna, and Alice are gonna be gods to the Underworld/Star World inhabitants.
The next upcoming entry in the series is SAO "Progressive" which is a retelling of the aincrad arc floor by floor. It will be adapted to a movie and be released this year.
The next main arc is called "Unital Ring" which will serve as the final arc of SAO as a whole. The light novels are still ongoing so it might take a few more years to get an anime adaptation.

Stica and Laurannei are direct descendants of Tiese (and Renly) and Ronye (and an unknown husband), respectively. This isn't really spoiler because there appear to be no plans to adapt Moon Cradle into anime (or even finish it, apparently), but Tiese and Ronye would go on to become the first two unsynthesized Integrity Knights - Tiese Schtrinen 32 and Ronye Arabel 33 - based on their actions during the overthrow of the four kingdoms' royal families. The Schtrinen and Arabel families would be friends for generations, which is why Stica and Laurannei are the close friends that they are.
My understanding is SAO Progressive is a return to SAO told from Asuna's perspective rather than Kirito. The Inter-Intelligence War is going to be a new arc but will probably take years to produce.

Quick reminder that this episode takes place in...well, iirc it is 2026, so about 5 years from now. While this series takes place in a world somewhat more advanced (practical quantum computers with widespread usage, non-invasive brain-machine interfaces with full sensory simulation, etc.), it’s not the future-future.
No flying cars or anything, and most certainly no way to impart taste and touch to an android the way they can simulate those senses digitally.

New season won’t come out for like 3 or more years since the author plans to make it the longest arc which made Alicization long to finish and was the longest arc in SAO so far. Progressive is a spin-off possibly movies since the first will be a movie of when Kirito and Asuna were in SAO going on each floor and clearing them.

this is the prologue for unital ring, progressive is a retelling of the aincrad but in more detail. progressive will give us more sao content and re introduce a character that will be featured prominently in the next arc. That was added to the anime. In the novels she didn't reacted like that, Asuna did later on though which was deleted in the anime.
She's jealous about Asuna in some different ways and about some different things. Alice is like an "alpha female" and them Asuna appeared from heaven saving everyone like a god, as beautiful as a goddess, leading the human realm army better than anyone, fighting as good as the Integrity Knights and faster than them, proclaiming herself girlfriend of a guy that Alice took care for months. Alice confessed these feelings about Asuna in LN vol 16, in a monologue that anime cut. In Unitial Ring, next arc, they are good friends, and of course, Alice accept Kirito and Asuna relationship.

If you consider the side stories Reki Kawahara has written, Sugu and Alice are basically best friends, very similar to how Asuna and Shino (Sinon) became best friends after she was brought into the group.

I think the monsters are "remnants" or either Vecta or PoH. The eye inside that space monster looked like Vecta's. I have no proof and I don't read the light novel, but I think this next and maybe final SAO arc will involve world governments trying to do something to the Underworld and a Hidden threat slowly going out of control in the Underworld that might be a REAL threat digitally and physically, aka reality.
So from what my thoughts are collecting, Kirito’s account is now one of the few “God Accounts”.

Remake and retelling is different, remake basically they recycle the whole thing,while retelling is more in details.

SAO Progressive is not a continuation of SAO per se. It is more of a movie on the beginning of the anime in Sword Art Online the game. My understanding is that it will go over the first few floors of SAO, expanding on Asuna and Kirito.

It's not a reboot. It's an expansion. A reboot would change the canon of the original work. Progressive doesn't significantly change it - it just adds to it.
