Honestly it was a really fun game to be able to play. I do understand the pain of the arctic base, the map size really made those matches kind of a pain.
Having firefights and weaving around corners in this game is super addicting and fun, reminds me of old SOCOM. But there's certain suits I legit cannot stand like Unicorn and Banshee with their crazy stunlocks. I'm sure it's matchup knowledge but it did make learning a little frustrating. Ended up really liking Full Armor 7th a lot. Game is surprisingly fast once you figure out you can cancel most recovery animations with a dash, which I was hoping for since Gundam always struck me as fast mecha action.
This depends on what skills your mobilesuit has. A lot of higher cost/later era units would have the ability to interrupt any action with a boost. Usually raids and generals but rarely on supports.
tip, the GM rifle is a weird MG where you want to burst fire. it tightens it's grouping really fast which makes it really good for medium range. when targets are close, THAT'S when you mag dump.
I'm played gbo2 for a long time I like that game very much and it's extremely competitive among lots of players but one thing I will say is practice your timing on using your boost and melees also some suits are extremely strong when there's a good pilot behind the controls and sometimes the quickest way to take the pressure off your team is to focus there strongest player first most of the time it's the raid keeping the enemy raid locked down will give you the room you need for your teams raid to take out the support and that's has been keen for victory multiple times also do remember to have fun
I've been playing this game since before it got the western client on console, I won't really pick away at this match specifically since you're brand new to this. So I'll just throw some fun facts at you, like how you can fire your vulcans while boosting, and the GM rifle you're using here can do a 3-round burst that has far better range and accuracy than holding down the trigger. But yeah, if you have any questions about the game, I can definitely try to answer them
Oh interesting. Is there a button you press to change the fire mode? A more accurate 3 round burst probably would've been better in most of these fights.
Had fun on the test i hope the release date announcement is around the corner but most likely its gonna be announced in a event of sorts me and my buds are definitely hyped for it 😁
Anniversary is in 2 months, so they may be pushing to launch it then (also would 'encourage' some spending on the game with all the promotions they have then)
I hope the steam version eventually gets sorted out. Its so lonely with us just being on Playstation. I want new people to fight. Your footsies are great, but your engagement distance is lacking. Remember that your weapon's range can be discerned from if your crosshairs are blue or not. Sometimes you can eyeball it but its generally better to shoot when it turns blue. Also yes getting pilot kills with their suit is more points, a pilot kill to my knowledge is an additional 100pts.
As a long time player of gbo2 here is my advice. If you have a controller use that, camera controls on m+kb is weird Only jump if you have no other option since it is slow, uses a lot of boost and leaves you vulnerable Machine gun/gatling gun is only playable at low level gameplay the meta is to stun into a melee combo, so think bazooka or certain beam rifles. theoretically it is indeed a rock paper scissors system but in actuality it is raid >>>> support newer raids > general older raids ≥ generals general > support at close range support ≥ general at long range The fastest way to build skill is getting proficient with raid units
managed to get in over 20 hours during the playtest and I enjoyed it a lot. it takes a while to get used to since it's a pretty unique game but once you do it gets very fun.
Wait, this is the first time you played it? By the way, a tip is that when you repair your suit. Don't fully repair it and just enough so that your suit won't trip when boosting, as it will going to be destroyed anyway. Edit 2: you can see if your in advantage or disadvantage if you look at the crosshair is pointing at an enemy MS. Example is here, when your shooting at a support, it showed disadvantage, when fighting against a raid, it showed advantage. If your fighting the same type, it won't show anything.
Gundam battle operation is definitely played a lot slower and it takes a lot of adjusting to get used to it. When I began, I was sorta repulsed by how slow you turn. I think the game's pretty fun nonetheless.

Love this game, I fell out of GunEvo very fast since they never changed any of the player incentives and in game currency is still only obtainable in events or via paying real cash. This one also feels a lot more like a mech game than GunEvo which feels like a regular hero shooter. They don’t even do anything to make you feel big in that unlike this one where you get the on-foot perspective along with buildings, cars and such
This game and gundam evo are quite the opposite. I like gundam evo but GBO2 too. GBO2 is played more tactically and slower and evo is faster. But i like both. GBO2 needs longer to get games though, at least for me. But i enjoy both
I tried the network test build and the game is probably not something for me It should be my fault, expecting the alternative for Gundam Evolution since it doesn't seem to last very long The gameplay is heavier and tons more sim-ish than I expected, that sorely isn't wrong but quite complicated and overwhelming for me, who just want to have a dumb fun with the mass-produced MS like GM Type C and Jegan (inb4 GIT GUD could you understand I come from modern FPS) Speaking of the mass-produced I can not help thinking this is gonna be P2W hell, as my lv5 Zaku II worth almost nothing against those with more cost and better weaponry. The good thing in Evo is the game is not P2W anymore since the devs are keen to adjust and rework, besides the only problematic unit imho is Barbatos, which is completely free to pick Plus there were a number of the PS3 to 5 veterans and due to every player starting with same D rank they were just pwning newbies like me. At least I should leave this game for a while after official release so that those Newtypes get proper higher rank and I can start playing without getting completely destroyed I'm going to stick with Evo till its death, yet the future is kinda grim since this is pretty much only good game to move to
SO, theres a lot to unpack here, but let me address some things. First, its actually not pay to win. The cost-System is confusing, but think of "Cost" as "League" or "Power Level." Yes, your 300 cost Zaku II is not going to be able to go toe to toe with something like the Unicorn. But the Unicorn is in the 700 cost league. Unrestricted is the only place where this imbalance is profoundly felt, and players generally just treat "Unrestricted" as "700 cost." In the 300 Cost matches (which were absent in the network test but pop up time to time on the actual game, as do 200, 250, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600, 650, 700, in modes of Brawl, basic, simple, ace, and target shuffle.) the Zaku II is quite fine. It has a ton of HP and custom part slots for a 300 cost suit, and bringing LV5 weaponry is a huge boon to its success. Theres also a ton of Zaku II variants that range from 200 to 500 cost, and post-one-year-war grunts like the aforementioned Jegan (500-600 cost) so don't feel too dismayed. They also drop balance updates every month so even if a suit is underperforming, they are capturing data all the time to possibly make it more viable. There is also "Mixup" which is a bit more fair for undercost MS as it magnifies the point values somewhat multiplicatively, and the lower cost your MS, the more HP you get after each respawn. a 200 cost Zaku for example needs to die about 9-10 times to cost as many points as a single unicorn, and each death it takes, it gains 3k max HP up to and exceeding that of the Unicorn, its not recommended, but you could eventually attrition it down in Mixup. I also wouldn't assume Evo is dead yet. Its still being rolled out (just got its Australian release a week or 2 ago) but it is facing stiff competition with Overwatch 2. That said, it may grow in following since its roster of playable options is growing faster than Overwatch 2's and it has a much bigger pool to draw from.
