- North Star Knife Review wants us to show are "Red" knives. As a collector of Swiss Army Knives, that could be pretty difficult. So I decided to give the tag a bit of a twist and let you see my "Red Ryder" knives. I'll do another reply later with "Red" knives

Never grew up with Red Ryder. For me it was the Lone Ranger. I will confess though that I do like that fixed blade and that SAK version.

Robert Blake played Little Beaver. He also played in Spanky and Our Gang, and then Baretta, and then later charged for murder.
My USA made dark red folder has a claw type can opener.

Cool Red Ryder stuff. I had one as a kid and I bought my GF now wife one when we first met. Mine is long gone haven't seen hers around for a while. Brings back memories though, it would be fun to have the knives too. Nice showing Tobias.

The original Red Ryder comic series ran from 1940 to 1951...a bit before my time, and I don't remember the Red Ryder series in the local Sunday comics section of the newspaper.
That being said, my memory of Red Ryder was from the movie "The Christmas Story" and the Red Ryder BB gun made by Daisy, and the phrase "he will shoot his eye out" made by the boy's Mom in the movie.
My Daisy was a pump action, though I was hopelessly out gunned by my buddies who all had single shot .177 cal. pellet guns. I could pump out a load of BB's but one hit by a .177 left a real bruise and usually ended the "friendly" competition.
Oh, if our Mom's only knew!
I recalled seeing some of the old Movies and TV shows on early morning TV when I was a kid. But A Christmas Story definitely re-sparked my interest in the Character. Many of the shows are on TH-cam.

I can see how they would have been appealing to the youngsters if their parents would have allowed it. Those fixed blades are actually pretty good looking knives.

That was my first bb gun. So I've got a real soft spot for them.I found 2 pretty old ones at a estate sale last year and I'm restoring them to give to my grandsons they are 8 and 7 and very responsible little men I gave them a Barlow each for Christmas but they have to live in pawpaws knife cabinet.they are so interested in knives they watch all of your shows with me and love your characters. Daisy guns were originally made in the lovely town of Plymouth, Michigan. The old factory is now offices and apartments.

Between the furnace, the breaker box, the duct work, and steel on every wall, that compass doesn’t have a chance! 😂

It looks like you have cornered the market on those Red Ryder’s. Is the Daisy one of the Christmas Wish Special Edition’s from a few years ago that was released due to the popularity of the Christmas Story movie?
The Daisy was a Christmas gift. I had been asking for one for like 10 years before one of my kids bought it for me. They didn’t think I was serious about it and bought it as a gag. Little did they know…

a camp to learn how to be upstanding citizens? we had that when i was a kid, it was called boy scouts. and you had to be a real boy not one of these new green haired pinocchio kids, and there was an oath we all took and some still live by
