@beckybrynjolfsson Since you are on a wonderful learning quest, where I began as well, His Name is actually Yeshua! There wasn’t even a letter “J” in Biblical Hebrew until 500 years ago. The Father has an actual Name from Scripture too. That Name is Yahweh / יהרה!! A Bible you would love with the original Hebrew names throughout, is called “ISR” it stands for International Scripture Research, or a different abbreviation but same Bible is “The Scriptures 2009” I’ve learned so much! Check out Leviticus 23! Changed my life! Blessings upon you as you study to really know our Creator!! From our wonderful Father Yah, in His Son’s matchless Name, Yeshua. Ahmein and Ahmein

Thanks so much for your admirable efforts to present reliable and concise information. I would like to offer a couple of suggestions to improve your videos. Please slow down a little. You speak clearly but at this speed it is very hard to keep up and savor what you are sharing. I feel exhausted after a video . Second, this might get me some unfavorable comments, please learn the the function and pronunciation of the apostrophe at the end of names etc. E.g. Jesus' is not pronounced Jesuses. Just simply, Jesus. This is an often ignored rule in English today. Keep up the good work, I learn much from you.

I read somewhere that Herod built the third temple. There was Solomon's destroyed by the Babylonians, the temple ordered by Cyrus "of which little is known", and Herod's was the third, ultimately destroyed by the Romans. Or is that information out of date?

I would like to hear about biblical archeology from the perspective of the political situation on the ground today / right now. With Palestinians currently facing the state sanction stealing of their homes and violent daily intimidation from fanatical hard right settlers, such as in East Jerusalem's neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah. Or some of the far right groups in the country, who whole heartedly support colonial dispossession, offering major funding to archeologists. Or when as a Haaretz article (June 23, 2020) describes, how Palestinians can have their homes demolished in Israel and the Occupied Territories in the name of an archeological discovery. I for one was disgusted to read that Israel Finkelstein saw no real moral dilemma in excavating in parts of East Jerusalem following the removal of people and the demolition of their homes (The New Yorker, June 29, 2020).

this episode triggers a question. as a non jew or foreigner, you weren't allowed to enter the tempel. well. is it possible or even feasible to come up with a list of places that i will never be allowed to enter based on religious or spiritual issues? if i wanted to visit all such places for the sake of say, a documentary, or my own spiritual growth (whatever that means), how many conversions should i do? is that something achievable in life? just wondering...

Also an atheist. I find this fascinating how history creates religion and narrative which in turn shapes history. There is nothing supernatural or “holy” here, just humans doing what they have done since the cognitive revolution… telling stories to create communities. Unfortunately, many will tell you otherwise. Either way this content is interesting and the sources are reliable.

This is state of Israel not the biblical Israel. The true location of the 12 tribes of Israel ( Igbo or ibo language: I Zara Eli, meaning ' you answered God' ) are at this day in Igbo land and settled according to the " The Order of Encampment and Marching' as God instructed Moses and Aaron in [ Numbers 2:3-32]. Their location was around the Temple at Jerusalem (Igbo language: iyi e rusala m, meaning "evil should not touch me") which is the Holy City Called today Owerri ( Igbo language: Owe eri, meaning Leaders from time immemorial ) in Imo State South Eastern Nigeria is the Original city of Jerusalem.

The so-called Temple Mount may not in fact be the site of Solomon's or Herod's Temple at all. Instead, it may be the site of the Roman barracks - the Antonia Fortress. Remember that the Romans destroyed Jewish Jerusalem after AD 70. They turned it into a Roman city and occupied it for over half a millennium. They would not have left such a huge structure as the "Temple Mount" standing. It is likely that the real site of the Temple is in the old City of David, which is a few hundred metres away from the Dome of the Rock.
