  • I usually don't do maintenance videos on my bikes but this next year I thought I would expand the channel content.
The first one was changing the front sprocket on the Thruxton R.

I find working in the garage so relaxing. Your record keeping is great.

😄 That is because my memory is crap.

Actually more complicated than the bikes I've done with a single drain plug and an external cartridge type filter. Always nice not to find any lumps of metal stuck to the magnet. 👍👍

The first oil change on the Royal Enfield had what I would consider a lot of metal, but since then it has been fine. I believe this is my 5th oil change in 5 years and 4700 miles so it should stay fairly clean. By the way have you heard if Triumph is reintroducing the 765?

@@flatcapcaferacer Think I would expect more metal on the first change. Depends a little how clean RE's manufacturing process was and running in wear. Not sure I understand what you mean on the 765?

@@Banditmanuk I thought I heard (can't remember where) about a regular Speed Triple 765 or TFC. I thought the moto 2 gp version was the last of the 765s.

@@flatcapcaferacer As far as I'm aware the TFC Daytona 765 were the last, Dick Shepherd the collector owns the very last one. There's always rumours but Triumph say there isn't enough demand . Said the same about the larger capacity Daytona Sports bike but now they have a kind of half breed with the part faired 1200 Speed Triple RR.

Surprisingly complex for a single cylinder. Do you feel like 2 liters (or so) of oil is enough for good cooling ? Have you ever found the engine running hot ?

I never look forward to oil changes on either of my Enfield’s. I think the Himalayan is worse, but the gauze is easier than on the Classic. Ah well, small price to pay for the pleasure I guess 🙂👍🏼

They are lovely bikes aren't they? I'll have a video coming up in a week or so they will highlight the one big issue I have with my Classic 500.
You probably already know what it is so don't spill the beans.😄😄
