Thanks Andrew for your patience and dedication. It's really nice to see and hear your videos. Victoria Mendoza Hello Victoria and welcome to my channel. I'm pleased that you like my lessons and that you have decided to learn English. If you have any questions about my lessons, just ask me in the comments and I will try to help. Best wishes Andrew
Thanks Andrew, I just wonder if there really is a way to learn English without making simultaneous translations. that is, as are their classes. because there are many other English courses bearing the respective translation into Spanish and more or less be understood gradually. but in the case of the courses that are only in English and no simultaneous translation. As the learner be provided without the appropriate translation. That is my concern. Thank you. God bless you
Victoria Mendoza I think for *certain* aspects of learning a new language, having lessons in one's first language is effective. For example, if you are a beginner and you want to learn a new English word like "whisk", it is very difficult for a teacher to explain that word to you in English. But if the teacher tells you the meaning in Spanish ("batidor") then you immediately understand. However the problem is that often too much time is spent hearing Spanish and not enough time hearing English. We must remember that everyone learns their first language without any translation into another language and that people who travel to a new country and are surrounded by the new language learn it very quickly because they aren't spending much time translating into their first language and they are immersed in the new language. It feels harder to learn a new language without much translating especially at the beginning, but I think it is definitely more effective in the long-term. Probably the best solution is to combine the 2 methods. Follow lessons only in the new language and try to guess and deduce new words from the context and then to check with a Spanish-English dictionary for reference. Best wishes Andrew
Crown Academy of English Andrew, God bless you for your patience and for the time you spend to answer my messages. I am looking a lot like your lessons directly to my email. There are many questions about it and is very uncomfortable that everyone read our thoughts. Anyway, I am very grateful to God for your good sense of humanity and I will keep in mind your good advice. "Total placing in English only." I try not translate to the maximum. I read a lot, and I understand many of the things I read. I have enough vocabulary in my mind. My biggest difficulty is understanding people when they speak. I can write some short sentences that are literally as in Spanish, meaning that there is no need to change the word order. but when it comes to long texts, letters or poems, because I write many poems, it is difficult for me that the order of the words. Thanks again and God bless you. Deshacer cambios

+danzambra Hello Ambra and thanks for your answers. Here are some comments and corrections: 1. I'm getting fruit and vegetables at the supermarket because I haven't found an open market. --> correct - "I'm getting" (present continuous) is correct if you are describing what you are currently doing *now*. If you want to say that you always get fruit and veg at the supermarket, then you must use the present simple : "I get...." 2. I'm still in bed, so I haven't got up yet. --> correct 3. I get on well with Francesco, my lovely husband. --> correct Well done, you have learned a lot from this lesson. Best wishes, Andrew

Tolobek Satkyn Thanks for your comment. Here are some small corrections: 1. I got a scarf and the best belt for my birthday. --> Correct 2. I am going to get some milk, loaf and butter at the supermarket. Correct - but it is better to change the order because there is a mix of countable and uncountable nouns: "I am going to get *a* loaf and *some* milk and butter at the supermarket." 3. I got up a little later then usually because I have stayed up --> I got up a little later than *usual* because I stayed up late last night. (If the first verb is past simple, then the second verb must be past simple also. We are describing staying up at a specific time, therefore we use past simple.) 4. I get on well with Edward. --> Correct. Well done, you have learned a lot of new words from this lesson. Best wishes Andrew

Thank you Andrew for this interesting lesson because I don't need to get any English book to learn after watching your videos.I got the impression that I am interested in your explanations. I've got many educational videos, but yours are different. They made me get enthusiastic about the attractive ideas you have. Now Andrew,I want to get some sleep because I am so exhausted especially after getting the new job; it made me feel happy although it's tiring. I have to wake up early, have a shower, and get dressed so that I reach the company with the new car I got last month. I hope that I'll get an "A" or "B" in this English text. You are BRILLIANT ANDREW!, thanks again.

i had problems with ( get ) word , but now you are resolving my issue really , you are so perfect teacher ... thanks a lot .. and my answers are : 1/ Iam going to get clothes at the supermarket .. or iam getting some fruits at the supermarket ( i have doubt ) ... 2/ I got up at seven o'clock this morning . 3/ Samira gets on well with me . Teacher , iam going to study them carefully .and your way to leave questions for them , it is a good and useful idea .. thanks really for your attention .
Sarwan ebrahem Thanks for your answers. Here are the corrections and comments: "Iam going to get clothes at the supermarket" Correct use of get but don't forget the article "some" --> "I am going to get *some* clothes at the supermarket." "iam getting some fruits at the supermarket ( i have doubt )" Correct use of get in the present continuous but "fruit" is an *uncountable* noun. Therefore its form is always *singular* --> "I am getting some *fruit* at the supermarket." (I advise you to watch these 2 lessons: 1) Countable and uncountable nouns | English grammar lesson *and also* 2) When to use "some" and "any" | English grammar lesson ) "I got up at seven o'clock this morning ." --> Correct "Samira gets on well with me ." --> Correct Well done, you used all the words correctly with the correct meaning. There were just those 2 grammar mistakes. Best wishes Andrew

maria jie Thanks for your answers. Here are my comments: 1. "I bought lots of food to get at the supermarket." --> We do not say buy and get. We either say "I bought lots of food at the supermarket." or "I *got* lots of food at the supermarket." 2."I got up at @ this morning ." --> Correct 3. "I get on well with my friend,Maria." --> Correct Best wishes Andrew
1. I'm going to get a glass from the supermarket. 2. I'm got upp at 7.00 o'clock today. 3. I get on well with my friend Hassan. Thanks for your patience and dedication Andrew :)
Andress Tello Thanks for your answers. Here are the corrections: "I'm going to get a glass from the supermarket." --> Correct "I'm got upp at 7.00 o'clock today." --> " *I got up* at 7 o'clock today." The tense is the past simple tense and it is irregular for the verb GET (GOT). Here is a lesson about the past simple: th-cam.com/video/0Ri3QTT41f8/w-d-xo.html "I get on well with my friend Hassan." --> Correct Best wishes Andrew
Thanks a lot, the best explanation of get. 1) I am going to get some vegetables and fruits 2) I got up at six o clock this morning 3) I get on well with my boyfriend
At last I got it! "Become" is one of the meanings of "get", but not each "get" implies "become". Right? My answers are: I am going to get some tea and bread at the supermarket. Today I got up at 7 o'clock. I get on well with my flatmates. Thanks a lot for such a splendid lesson! Elena
Elena Zayg Hi Elena. Yes that's right. GET has lots of different meanings and "become" is only one. All of your answers are perfectly correct so well done :) Andrew
Thanks for your video andrew you are the best teacher :) Im going to get a bowl milk I got up 9 am this morning I m get on well with you I will continue to watch your lessons And I hope I wrote correct :)
alican kaya Thanks for your answers. You used "get" correctly but there are a few grammar mistakes. Here are the corrections: Im going to get a bowl milk --> *I'm* going to get a bowl *of* milk. (Don't forget the apostrophe for contracted forms and the word "of" for "bowl *of* milk") I got up 9 am this morning --> I got up *at* 9 am this morning (We say "at" when describing the time we do something.) I m get on well with you --> We can say "I get on well with you." (present simple) or "I'm getting on well with you." (present continuous) I explain the present simple here: Present Simple verb tense | Present simple English verb and the present continuous here: Present Continuous verb | Present progressive verb | English present tense Best wishes Andrew

Congratulations for your channel, it's very useful for me to watch your videos because it helps me with my lessons of this amazing language. Best regards Maite
tere jauregi de juan Hello Maite, thanks for your answers and comment. There is only 1 mistake: "I'm got up at @watch?v=SgTkunIpxHo&t=8m00s this morning." --> " *I* got up at 8:00 this morning." (The tense is the past simple tense and it is irregular for the verb GET (GOT). Here is a lesson about the past simple: @watch?v=0Ri3QTT41f8 ) All of the other answers were correct, well done. Andrew
this video is very helpful 1) i am going to get some noodles at the supermarket 2) i got up at 10 o'clock 3) i am getting on with my friend, buzas thax@@!
counselor Pyo Thanks for your answers. You use GET correctly but there are just 2 minor grammar mistakes: "i am going to get some noodles at the supermarket" --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter: " *I* am going to get some noodles at the supermarket." "i got up at 10 o'clock" --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter: " *I* got up at 10 o'clock." "i am getting on with my friend, buzas" --> --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter and it is better to use the present simple tense: " *I get on* well with my friend, Buzas." (names *always* start with a capital letter also.) Best wishes Andrew

Best wishes

+danzambra Hello Ambra and thanks for your answers. Here are some comments and corrections:
1. I'm getting fruit and vegetables at the supermarket because I haven't found an open market. --> correct - "I'm getting" (present continuous) is correct if you are describing what you are currently doing *now*. If you want to say that you always get fruit and veg at the supermarket, then you must use the present simple : "I get...."
2. I'm still in bed, so I haven't got up yet. --> correct
3. I get on well with Francesco, my lovely husband. --> correct
Well done, you have learned a lot from this lesson.

Andrew

Tolobek Satkyn Thanks for your comment. Here are some small corrections:
1. I got a scarf and the best belt for my birthday. --> Correct
2. I am going to get some milk, loaf and butter at the supermarket. Correct - but it is better to change the order because there is a mix of countable and uncountable nouns: "I am going to get *a* loaf and *some* milk and butter at the supermarket."
3. I got up a little later then usually because I have stayed up --> I got up a little later than *usual* because I stayed up late last night. (If the first verb is past simple, then the second verb must be past simple also. We are describing staying up at a specific time, therefore we use past simple.)
4. I get on well with Edward. --> Correct.
Well done, you have learned a lot of new words from this lesson.

I don't have much time to learn and enjoy from your videos, but I like these too much.
I hope that I'll get an "A" or "B" in this English text.

and my answers are : 1/ Iam going to get clothes at the supermarket .. or iam getting some fruits at the supermarket ( i have doubt ) ... 2/ I got up at seven o'clock this morning .
3/ Samira gets on well with me .
Teacher , iam going to study them carefully .and your way to leave questions for them , it is a good and useful idea .. thanks really for your attention .
Sarwan ebrahem Thanks for your answers. Here are the corrections and comments:
"Iam going to get clothes at the supermarket" Correct use of get but don't forget the article "some" --> "I am going to get *some* clothes at the supermarket."
"iam getting some fruits at the supermarket ( i have doubt )" Correct use of get in the present continuous but "fruit" is an *uncountable* noun. Therefore its form is always *singular* --> "I am getting some *fruit* at the supermarket." (I advise you to watch these 2 lessons: 1) Countable and uncountable nouns | English grammar lesson *and also* 2) When to use "some" and "any" | English grammar lesson )
"I got up at seven o'clock this morning ." --> Correct
"Samira gets on well with me ." --> Correct
Well done, you used all the words correctly with the correct meaning. There were just those 2 grammar mistakes.

I am going to get some tea and bread at the supermarket.
Today I got up at 7 o'clock.
I get on well with my flatmates.
Thanks a lot for such a splendid lesson!

alican kaya Thanks for your answers. You used "get" correctly but there are a few grammar mistakes. Here are the corrections:
Im going to get a bowl milk --> *I'm* going to get a bowl *of* milk. (Don't forget the apostrophe for contracted forms and the word "of" for "bowl *of* milk")
I got up 9 am this morning --> I got up *at* 9 am this morning (We say "at" when describing the time we do something.)
I m get on well with you --> We can say "I get on well with you." (present simple) or "I'm getting on well with you." (present continuous) I explain the present simple here: Present Simple verb tense | Present simple English verb and the present continuous here: Present Continuous verb | Present progressive verb | English present tense

"I'm got up at @watch?v=SgTkunIpxHo&t=8m00s this morning." --> " *I* got up at 8:00 this morning." (The tense is the past simple tense and it is irregular for the verb GET (GOT). Here is a lesson about the past simple: @watch?v=0Ri3QTT41f8 )
All of the other answers were correct, well done.
Andrew
this video is very helpful
1) i am going to get some noodles at the supermarket
2) i got up at 10 o'clock
3) i am getting on with my friend, buzas
thax@@!
counselor Pyo Thanks for your answers. You use GET correctly but there are just 2 minor grammar mistakes:
"i am going to get some noodles at the supermarket" --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter: " *I* am going to get some noodles at the supermarket."
"i got up at 10 o'clock" --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter: " *I* got up at 10 o'clock."
"i am getting on with my friend, buzas" --> --> The word *i* is *always* a capital letter and it is better to use the present simple tense: " *I get on* well with my friend, Buzas." (names *always* start with a capital letter also.)
Best wishes
Andrew
