Actually, Eviolite wouldn't make Galarian Mime's Defense Stats 97.5 and 135 each. Since it multiplies the actual stat, not the base stat, it could range from uninvested being the same as uninvested Base 108 Defense, 145 Sp Def, to Boosting Nature Max Invested being the same as likewise Base 123 Defense, 161 Sp Def.
I hope Liam sees this. Also, abilities like Pure/Huge Power and Fur Coat work in a similar manner, as well as the items Light Ball(Pikachu) and Thick Club(Cubone/Marowak)
I think I like reading Pokédex entries, but realise how little I actually do that when I watch Form Fight That's why this series is so great, because apart from being such entertaining and fun stuff, it's essentially where I get all my lore knowledge for these Pokémon these days
I'm absolutely rooting for Galarian Mr. Mime here. Before Pokémon HOME came out it was the saving grace for trainers who wanted to give that annoying Dracovish what for, and I managed to pull off a Freeze-Dry on them a good few times until Alolan Ninetales took its place.
I absolutely love that you're using the home models/sprites, they really pop to me personally. That and the green screen with parts when you're on camera is 👌 Everything just seems more vibrant

hey liam!, this is something not many people know, i assume, but boosting a stat by 1.5X actually increases it more than boosting the base stat by 1.5X. which means that an eviolite mr mime has actually more defence than if it had its base stats multiplied by 1.5

What’s actually creepy is the fact that there’s someone behind you, raiding your house for your stuff because they’re obsessed with you and want to stay with you forever. In the age of people spamming the tanky monster that is G-Max Lapras (who puts up an easy Aurora Veil), I've found my self running a Galar Mime, Freeze-Dry with Screen Cleaner.
I am so disappointed how they butchered galar mr mime stats and type, especially since neither of galar ones have filter or technician - and with THAT MANY WEAKNESSES - filter would help
Yup fantastic fight as expected, very fun video as always liam. though this vid has cemented for me all the more that ice type needs some sort of defensive buff, so many weaknesses and almost no resistances is just too painful, It's sad seeing my very favourite type be so difficult to use effectively

I prefer, both Galarian forms to the original and I prefer Mr. Rime to it's pre-evolution. The reasons being that the original is so creepy that it's making Hypno blush. It says a lot that the snarky wiseass in Detective Pikachu is its only not really creepy appearance. The Galarian Mr. Mime is already a considerable improvement, because of its hands, feet, and the fact that its tap-dancing movements are nowhere near as creepy as the miming original. Mr. Rime meanwhile is actually pretty endearing by comparison to either one. As for the typings, yeah psychic/fairy is better in a direct comparison, but since Gardevoir is my favorite pokemon period, I don't really see much use for the original. P.S. Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that makes you scream "Ahh! Kill it with fire," happens to be the one that isn't weak to fire?
The G-Max Toxtricity fair enough. Don't know about you but I've been a fan since Gen I and I have *never* liked Mr Mime, same thing with Jynx they're both just too human-looking! I read once Mr Mime was based off some sort of ladybug, take away the human hands and feet then squint I guess I can see it (but with Jynx I kept expecting Mr Popo from DBZ to pop up "hey sis, haven't seen you in decades!") I'm still on the fence with Electabuzz, cos in the anime again it's just a bit too human and the awful voice it had back in the Kanto anime during its debut episode (I think it was Showdown at Dark City?) I guess if I really have to choose here then Kantonian is better by comparison ... and Mr Rime reminds me of that one guy from Cowboy Bebop who floats around with a top hat killing people ... I just think Mr Mime deserved a better evolution but nah he got the Lickilicky treatment! 😖😖😖

Kantonian is better than the others imho. It has a better stat distribution than Galarian Mr. Mime and a better selection of abilities than both. Also, the transition of Galarian Mr. Mime having less special attack and more speed than Kantonian only to then lose that speed and regain the special attack when it evolves is just weird. Let's get a Lunar Duo fight soon.

I think the weakness and resistances are getting silly, Psychic beats Poison whilst Poison beats Fairy. So how can Mr Mime be weak to Poison if its Psychic side neutralizes the strengths and weaknesses?.
Psychic is super effective against poison, but Psychic doesn't resist Poison..... Life Lesson: just because one thing has *an* advantage over another thing, doesn't mean that one thing has every advantage~
Type advantages have never followed straight rules that if one type is super effective to another the reverse is automatically not very effective. Psychic is super effective against poison but it doesn't resist it, just takes regular damage, which is why mr.mime's fairy typing makes it weak to posion. This is the case with plenty of other situations too. For example, water resists ice, but water does normal damage to ice. Bug is super effective against psychic but doesn't resist it. Ground is super effective to electric, but ground is immune to electric rather than just resist it.
4:35 Ace Trainer Liam, I am disappointed! It's a common assumption, but Eviolite doesn't work like that!!! It doesn't apply a 1.5x multiplier to a Pokemon's base defence stats, it does so to an individual Pokemon's stats, i.e. the values that can be seen if you look at them in the party screen. It's the same amount of an increase as you would get from using a move that gives a +1 stat raise, like Harden. Because of how a Pokemon's stats are calculated, the effective defence increase granted by Eviolite works out to be significantly higher than what Galarian Mr. Mime's defences would be naturally if its Defense and Sp. Def were 97.5 and 135 by default. Love the work that goes into your videos of course but thought it'd be useful and interesting to point that out :p
I should've just not said the numbers, basically lol. I was trying to keep it simple, since it's not just competitive-savvy viewers like yourself that watch Form Fight. Often beginners watch. My main goal was to illustrate that Eviolite gives G-Mr. Mime potentially higher Def and SpDef than Mr Rime.
I prefer Kantonian Mr. Mime over Mr. Rime and Galarian Mr. Mime. I like its typing a lot more because it has like half the amount of weaknesses the Galarian one has and also has an immunity.

4:35 Ace Trainer Liam, I am disappointed! It's a common assumption, but Eviolite doesn't work like that!!! It doesn't apply a 1.5x multiplier to a Pokemon's base defence stats, it does so to an individual Pokemon's stats, i.e. the values that can be seen if you look at them in the party screen. It's the same amount of an increase as you would get from using a move that gives a +1 stat raise, like Harden. Because of how a Pokemon's stats are calculated, the effective defence increase granted by Eviolite works out to be significantly higher than what Galarian Mr. Mime's defences would be naturally if its Defense and Sp. Def were 97.5 and 135 by default. Love the work that goes into your videos of course but thought it'd be useful and interesting to point that out :p
I should've just not said the numbers, basically lol. I was trying to keep it simple, since it's not just competitive-savvy viewers like yourself that watch Form Fight. Often beginners watch. My main goal was to illustrate that Eviolite gives G-Mr. Mime potentially higher Def and SpDef than Mr Rime.

I prefer Kantonian Mr. Mime over Mr. Rime and Galarian Mr. Mime. I like its typing a lot more because it has like half the amount of weaknesses the Galarian one has and also has an immunity.
