Guide Dogs is celebrating 90 years of helping people with sight loss live the life they choose. As part of this, we’ve created ‘Flash’, a short, animated film, and our most recent TV advert, that celebrates our amazing dogs, volunteers, and staff, who have been at the heart of our life changing work since the beginning.
Follow Flash the pup, on her 12-month journey alongside her puppy raiser. Watch as she tries to gain the early experiences and skills needed to become a guide dog.
Flash is named after one of the UK’s first four guide dogs. She was partnered with World War One veteran, Alan Caldwell in 1931.
Our 90th Anniversary pup has been named after Flash too. Born on 13 January 2021, Flash was recently partnered with her own puppy raiser and the public will be able to follow their real-life journey throughout the year on social media or by visiting: bit.ly/3npnZsZ

He presents training in 7 days. Each of 7 items are commands that he believes a dog should know. They are presented in part ii of the book th-cam.com/users/postUgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq . The parts of the guideare divided: part i know your dog part ii the seven commands part iii cures for 7 behavior problems. Each chapter presents a topic, a dog's story, and a "what to do". It was written simply and you can jump from chapter to chapter to review anything as needed.
We ordered thissince we are planning to get a dog and we've watched dog lover on tv many times. The book th-cam.com/users/postUgkxGQVgV21bQ7B9b9duQ1ByImyT9xHbjOKq is a simple read and easy to understand. I like that it gives examples. We haven't put it into practice yet, so that will be the true test.
I like the way the dog avoids the words of the sounds of the distractions he’s supposed to ignore. Very clever use of visuals. 👍

Beautifully drawn
Mirrors some of the things that happen in puppy raising. The highs and lows can be massive but in the end it's so rewarding to see the puppies grow up and move on to do something that changes lives beyond comprehension.
All dog owners should have to train their dog like this. It is kind.

Flash is certainly a sweetheart!
GOD gave me 2 beautiful Labradors. Charcoal he is scared of fireworks and some things that are big, like the big food bowl I bought them and Mandy she does not seem to be scared of anything so far, she does have hip dysplasia which does scare me, worrying all the time about her and what the future could hold for her, yet I TRUST in GOD for these 2. GOD gave me this brother and sister pair and now I could NOT imagine life without them. GOD knew what HE was doing even though I do NOT know what I am doing at times, I TRUST in GOD for ALL HE DOES in MY DOGS LIVES and MY LIFE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Cam I just say its not the best at highlighting what us puppy walkers train.. unless I'm training wrong and I should let my puppy dive face first into its food as soon as its on the ground you are raising awareness of puppy walkers and wanting more help without looking out for the puppy walkers you currently have volunteering for you
A couple of questions: what's the overlap in the puppy walker training and the guide dog training? Are all training volunteers dog walkers? In which way does it harm you, as a walker, to find a less than ideal training practice by someone that's shown to be anything BUT a professional puppy walker? Just curious...
