    The freshest fruits I have had were at the Ohai ValleySpa and Resort near Santa Barbara. The resorts was nice too. Low Spanish style with herb gardens all over the grounds making the place smell nice.

    Hi, just got introduced to evernote, was using OneNote, had nightmare sync to web and mobile devices, liked the concept of using for receipts. More video on using for improving business will be good.

    This was impressive. I just spent the last 4 redoing my contenting mining strategy. I take public transport to work so I have an hour or so there and back and it gives me time to read ALOT. Like you, I used to email myself interesting stuff I pull off of feedly and then somehow spend ages categorising them on a google spreadsheet. Evernote makes it so much more easier with the tags and different notebooks. A legend as always Evan! Thanks.

    I am in the beginning months of using evernote with scansnap. I am trying to get my head around how to efficiently and effectively use the notebooks and tags. At the moment I feel I have just moved the "pile" from my desk to evernote, but at least searching evernote is easier.
    Thanks for the video.
    Trying to keep it simple

    Really good video! Been using Evernote for about 5 months now. As a makeup artist and small business owner I'm finding so many ways to use it. Your tips about using it for receipts was really helpful as I have been a little insecure about tossing the paper. Thanks for the encouragement. Hope you have/had a nice time here in California. I'm a native to L.A. :)

    Hi Evan, I notice many people asking about the scanner you're using. I personally use the new 'page camera' option on my iPhone to simply take a photo. It auto crops and adjusts brightness, then syncs and performs OCR on Evernote server making them searchable.
    Google 'evernote page camera'

    Great share for dealing with receipts. I never thought of using it that way. The storage and quick search beat going through my shoe boxes.
    I do use Evernote to keep lots of my notes. One useful thing I find is that I can use my BlackBerry to take picture of all my membership cards and it'll save directly into Evernote. I don't have to keep all my cards in my wallet (CAA, Airmiles, Aeroplans, Shoppers.. etc)
    Thanks for sharing your tips. I feel a sense of nearness to you as we are from the same city :)

    My evernote is a bit out of control... I'm wondering if there's a better way to organize my notes. I use the web clipper on Chrome ALL the time (craiglist posts, weekly TV schedule on SideReel, cross stitch/crochet work in progress photos, was doing ToDo lists and at one point had a notebook I called "Brain Log", and college classes) I've been toying with the "getting things done" methodology and trying to phase out my to-do lists (dated lists with check boxes tagged "ToDo" or "Done")

    Can you explain the note names within your receipts system?
    Are they simply the date and time the note was created?
    If so, why do you choose not to name them?

    I like how you itemize your business notebooks according to quarters. I have 2 businesses as well as personal receipts. How would you suggest organizing my 3 areas of receipts. I was thinking to do it as follows:
    Receipts-Pers 2013 Receipts-Rentals-2013, Receipts-Sand-2013. Then I could tag it according to quarters and other Quickbook classifications such as certain properties, or certain expense catagories. At present I need to simplfy my notebooks and tags. Any thoughts or ideas?

    Thanks Evan. Always like your tools tips. Can you clarify the following:
    1. what scanner do you use to scan in all the small visa receipts and awkward sized ones that don't feed into a regular scanner easily?
    2. do you do anything special to make the scanned in pdfs searchable? That is a major missing feature in my current digital filing system using dropbox. basically can only search by file name and adds a lot of unnecessary work when scanning in receipts/invoices to name the file names.

    I am deciding apple,google now, samsung s , or dragon to help verbalize (while driving). meeting notes, reminders, etc to a file that can then be shared with my staff to follow up on action items. Can you help? Do these systems work with evernote? or is another recommended. also what is the best business card organizer you have found?
    I'd like to take a pic of a business card and be able to search any character on it vs a v card (name, business, name, business type- organized list by category).

    I've been using neat desk for the last year, and the software is painfully slow. Scanning speed is decent. I'm curious with ever note, is there any way to total up a group of receipts for taxes? This is one feature I like in neat works. I can get totals for taxes, and it's pretty easy to create new folders, etc. Drawback is it's very slow to do this, but it does have a report feature I really like. Is this something you can do with your system, or is there software that does you recommend?

      Patti S Hi Patti - sorry you're having problems. I'm not sure what you're talking about re: "inbox" - if you could share a little more I'd be happy to try to help.

      OK, thank you. When I scan docs into evernote they are in my inbox, I tag them and they are still in my inbox, I feel like they should go to the file or notebook or wherever they are supposed to go, but they stay in my inbox. Does that make sense?

    • @EvanCarmichael
      @EvanCarmichael  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Patti S When you scan a doc into Evernote you have an option to save it to whatever notebook you want... and there's no such thing as an "Evernote Inbox" so I'm confused as to what the problem is. Does that help?

    • @pattis4301
      @pattis4301 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Actually the Evernote I have does have an Inbox, which was my problem, everything I scanned stayed there and I couldn't figure out how to get it some where (notebook) now I know it goes in a notebook. Thank you for your help. Your posts were helpful too!

    Thank you for the email.
    I am an Agile consultant, wherein I go into a technology company and help with their processes, software development, and technology. I want to organize email communication, proposals, and anything else related to clients. With that said, let me know your thoughts.
    I would like to organize (among other things) my client information. Items such as email communication, webinars given, proposals written, and anything else related to the client.
    Make sense?
