As a single oap I'm keeping track of the hits being made on my income. Tv licence £169.50. Refuse collection £56 a year. Fuel allowance £300 a year . Lost indexing of tax free income allowance £404. Loss of 25 % rebate on council tax £740 a year. Loss of bus pass ???

As a pensioner who worked and paid taxes until I was 70 I was particularly disappointed at the loud celebration from MPs cheering at the removal now of some money towards my winter heating. My taxes paid for the health and education services and the infrastructure of a safe country for these younger MPs to grow up in …they show a complete lack of empathy and should be ashamed to vote for such a cruel action towards many vulnerable elderly people. And it’s ingratitude for the support we gave them.
I’m from an ex-mining community, I’m a floating voter. I’ve supported many parties over the years, but I despise the modern Labour Party. I’ve noticed since the General Election, people who were reluctant to state their political colours, people would quietly say what they felt only to likeminded voters, are now very vocal, and their rhetoric is anti government and anti migrant. By attacking the pensioners Labour have made a catastrophic error, all working class people see themselves as people on state pensions in the future. What they can now vision is migrants being fed, in a warm hotel, with no bills to worry about, whilst their families and neighbours may very well freeze to death in their homes this winter. At this moment in time, Reform are the only party talking to the man in the street. The major problem faced by the Tories is that they do not pursue conservative policies. During their last administration they did not deliver on a single important issue: Brexit, immigration, law and order, free speech. Turns out Labour are even worse, but as long as the Tories slide to the left, they will never regain the trust of the British people, and thus will not become electable. Finally, it is quite incorrect to say that illegal immigration is the major problem. It is approximately 10% of LEGAL migration, and these legal migrants are in the main low skilled workers who work cheap and are recipients of benefits far in excess of their tax contribution. Not much of an attack on K Starmer's immigration earnings, by the way.

I was always told that you can tell which is the most cilivised society by the way they care for the elderly and the most vulnerable in that society... the British government is really failing in that. As a pensioner who worked and paid taxes until I was 70 I was particularly disappointed at the loud celebration from MPs cheering at the removal now of some money towards my winter heating. My taxes paid for the health and education services and the infrastructure of a safe country for these younger MPs to grow up in …they show a complete lack of empathy and should be ashamed to vote for such a cruel action towards many vulnerable elderly people. And it’s ingratitude for the support we gave them.
And your taxes paid the pensions of the then elderly!
I’m from an ex-mining community, I’m a floating voter. I’ve supported many parties over the years, but I despise the modern Labour Party. I’ve noticed since the General Election, people who were reluctant to state their political colours, people would quietly say what they felt only to likeminded voters, are now very vocal, and their rhetoric is anti government and anti migrant. By attacking the pensioners Labour have made a catastrophic error, all working class people see themselves as people on state pensions in the future. What they can now vision is migrants being fed, in a warm hotel, with no bills to worry about, whilst their families and neighbours may very well freeze to death in their homes this winter.
At this moment in time, Reform are the only party talking to the man in the street. Nigel Farage made a clever move by going in the jungle on I’m a Celebrity, it showed the British People he isn’t the monster the media ( who are terrified of losing their cosy relationship with the main parties ) have portrayed him as. Now he’s in Parliament, people can see the questions that Reform are asking, the questions people want asked, the questions the political parties are desperate to ignore.
Starmer, Reeves, Lammy etc have ZERO idea, they literally have no clue what the voters outside their university educated inner M25 circle friends tell them about us, as far as they are concerned we are the great unwashed, the ill educated, the racists who need saving from the Tories. But we are strong, we have numbers, both parties need our support to govern. Look at Boris, he took Mays disastrous election results and turned them 180 degrees, and why, because he promised to “get Brexit done” which successive governments conveniently ignored that referendum result. The major problem faced by the Tories is that they do not pursue conservative policies. During their last administration they did not deliver on a single important issue: Brexit, immigration, law and order, free speech. Turns out Labour are even worse, but as long as the Tories slide to the left, they will never regain the trust of the British people, and thus will not become electable. Finally, it is quite incorrect to say that illegal immigration is the major problem. It is approximately 10% of LEGAL migration, and these legal migrants are in the main low skilled workers who work cheap and are recipients of benefits far in excess of their tax contribution. Not much of an attack on K Starmer's immigration earnings, by the way.
Never in my 70 years as a British-born and bred citizen, have I seen a country going down the drain so fast as now. I am so pleased I am on my way out - What is the future for our grandchildren.
