    Nice hunt Austin! I think you gave the Exterra a good run! You were definitely in the right area for old silver coins with the shotgun shell head stamp! The last time I found that type of head stamp next to a huge oak tree, I also found two silver Rosie’s & a Barber Quarter! My guess is it fell out of squirrel hunters pocket while he was leaning up against the old tree. All three coins were a couple feet from one another & only 2-3” deep! 👍 Thank you for the nice Park hunt.

    1/3 the price and 90% of the performance. This is my second machine, my first was a go find 22 which kinda sucks on Finnish soil because it's dense and mineralized. Haven't found much yet because I haven't had a chance to go anywhere interesting, but it did find a tiny Finnish 1 penni alumminium coin from the early 80s at a depth of solid 7 inches.

    Hi Austin,
    Moved on to the xtp from Simplex +. I'm struggling with accurately locating targets. Even using the pinpoint function I seem to be always a bit "off". Any suggestions?

    • @carolrice2063
      @carolrice2063 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know that about Everytime that I was using the Simplex + I would be doing the same exact thing as well but I have also just got the X-Terra Pro and have you checked out with a Coin that can be done in your hands and also the ground but have the X-Terra Pro pinpoint button on and swipe the coin in front of the coil and go up and down and Side to Side and from what I have noticed that it's almost At the Minelab V12X Logo but also I think there's another one that is closer to the center of the X-Terra Pro and the shaft but I don't have the X-Terra Pro in my hands NOW to give you the positive answers but the X-Terra Pro V12 x Logo for sure is the one that I have been using. But I have also noticed that I can do a few swipes with the Pinpointer on and I will be high and the next time I would be a little bit lower than right on the target and then the third time I was just on top of it...... But yes definitely do take a coin and leave the X-Terra Pro in the collapsed positions and then turn it on and swipe the coin that is in your hands and find the Correct Center and Put a little bit of tape and Or something else that you will notice every time you go to detect and won't fall off Or get in the Way of Detecting..... But the V12 Logo is actually already put on the Coil and that's what I have been using it

      For me I say the best way to learn is through experience, keep on trying and I think you'll find that "sweet spot" not sure if you notice but I always try to kind of back the coil away from the target until it stops beeping and then I know it's right at the tip of the coil. Its kind of about visualizing where the target is before popping that plug but it can be challenging sometimes!

    • @jonl1320
      @jonl1320 ปีที่แล้ว

      While using the pinpoint mode, have you tried to lift the coil up from the ground to the point of just barely getting the signal? It may help to narrow the reception field to help pinpoint the target.

      Maybe next time you get a Great Sounding Target, put on the Horseshoe Button and that's will Now give you a Iron Grunt if it's a JUNK Steel Target but usually it's the top of the coil just off the edge and it will sound off " Grunt " but also if you can find a Bottle Cap and hold it in your hands and swipe it to the Coil and just Off the Edge and it will help you out with the iron nails but I have the X-Terra Pro and I have always used the horseshoe button on the target since I just got the X-Terra Pro and the Simplex + iron All Metal Mode was that I would have to stop Detecting just to get to it and then push 5 buttons to get the Simplex + All Metal Mode , but then the Junk Steel Target's will sound off with a Grunt but a good target will still sound the same exact Tone's and won't be changing..... and I Do believe that the Vanquish also has the Horseshoe Button that you can push also......

      @@kevinhavens8289I Do Alot of my figuring out things in the house when it's Way to Hot 🔥🥵 to go detect and then the Shade isn't any better and you can't really screw up with the Any Minelab Detector's and it's has the factory reset on it and I have a friend who has the Vanquish 540 and is also trying to figure it out and they've had it for over a year now and still getting Or Trying to get a idea of what, where, and How but I have just got the X-Terra Pro it's just about 3 week's old now and maybe 🤔 7 hours of Detecting outside but about 20 hours in the house , Swiping Targets that I have found with the Simplex and Teknetics Detectors and the Teknetics I can't do anything with it but just go ahead and detect and the Simplex + they have No MORE Updates for it and the X-Terra Pro is a Totally Different Game Changer Detector that tells me more about the target and the Simplex + would always tell me that there's a Valid Quarter Target in the ground but it's a JUNK Steel Target that I found instead but having the horseshoe button to push is a totally must use now that I can get to it ALOT easier than the Simplex + And the 5 buttons push to get to it. But If you do get the detector inside the house and just lower the sensitivity down and you can see and try out alot of things and If you think you have screwed up anything and just do the factory reset and it's back to normal again.....

    • @carolrice2063
      @carolrice2063 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And on the X-Terra Pro I don't have to do a Whole Detector Factory Reset but I can just reset any one program Park 1 and Or Park 2 and not the Full Detector, but I can also do the Whole Detector Factory Reset, but I have only done one of the Field 1 just to get a idea of how to do it but I didn't have any kind of problem that needed to be reset but just trying it out and you might have to look at the X-Terra Pro and it's a Waterproof 💦 detector than the Vanquish and also no more Batteries that you have to Buy and it's cheaper than the Vanquish but it acts like a Top End Detector for a Single Frequencies Detector and if Notka Macro Product's would go ahead and get the Simplex+ a update for the EMI Problem's that It has, I wouldn't of bought the X-Terra Pro but now that I have WoW 😳😮 it's quiet until I get a good target Tone but the Simplex would Squawk on the swing end and then Squawk again and the other side but it took me awhile to get use to it and the X-Terra Pro is a quite a great Detector that I'm having ALOT of fun with Detecting again and I ❤❤❤❤ it......

    It looks like a good solid machine for the money. Kinda how like the vanquish is kind of the best bang for buck type…Just turn on and go get it. I started with the vanquish and i’m currently using the legend. I like the legend, but it seems like i spent way too much time fiddling with the settings and ground balancing. The turn on and go…just seems ( maybe it’s just me) …more productive? Whereas I can spend more time digging holes than playing with settings. To date I haven’t noticed a great deal of depth differences and only slight differences in target separation. I’ve been running the legend in all metals mode so i can hear everything and it is fairly accurate in terms of information. However , to date I have not found a machine that separates the jewelry from the pull tabs😁

    • @carolrice2063
      @carolrice2063 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And the X-Terra Pro is ALOT easier to get to the All Metal Mode and 1 push button and I normally do the 15 MHz and when I get a target that is just sounds just to good now I can just push on the all metal mode and check it out and keep Detecting in the 15 MHz Park 1 and the ground balance can stay with the first settings that you have started with Or some just leave it on zero 0 and just Wing it.... but the X-Terra Pro is a Game Changer Detector and I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ IT

      @@bottomfeeder12 Well I have noticed that the X-Terra Pro will give me a warbly target Tone and Or a Cut off Tone but usually it's Iron on the cut off and the warbly Tone is usually the aluminum foil top but it can almost be anything but it will let you know and I have a bunch of stuff that I have found with the other Detectors that I check out with the X-Terra Pro and ALOT of the Simplex + Iron Quarter Target's that I have dug because the Simplex said that they were a great target and the X-Terra Pro just yawns at them and doesn't say anything about the iron unless I push the All Metal Mode button "Horseshoe" and then I can just walk on to another target but nickels and pull tabs are pretty close to each other but it's a different Tone's between the two and the aluminum is a little higher than the Nickel Tone and it's just a lot better detector than anything in the Notka Macro Product's line up and then some people are trying to be at Full Sensitivity and then they are saying that it's too much of a Jumpy VDI problem detector and needs a Update to help with it but If they would just lower the sensitivity down to something that is not so ridiculous and I have mine at 12 Sensitivity and I'm still getting Targets that are in the 4-6 inches deep but I also haven't been doing the ground balance and it's At 68 from 2 weeks ago Hunt and it needs anything to help give it something to work Off of from the ground and on the Vanquish the noise cancel is just when you turn it on and the X-Terra Pro can be done multiple times if it is needed and the X-Terra Pro and the Garrett Carrot can work together and not cause any kind of Feedback like it does with the Simplex + and I have to mute the Simplex and then you will forget to unmute the Simplex and be Detecting without hearing any kind of Targets Tone's and I have done that many times and I also have many different Detector's 7 of them and the X-Terra Pro is the best one for the money and the only fault for the X-Terra Pro is that they don't have any headphones sold with it but the option to be able to connect with 🎧 is on the X-Terra Pro and other people say that it's a another additional expense but I take the money that I have been finding with the detector and Use that Money 🤑💰 for all the stuff that I want to buy and that's how I bought the Simplex + Was just from the found money and not from my pockets....

      Get the X-Terra Pro and it's going to cost you just $269 and it almost has the same exact Numbers Range as well as the At Max and the reason that I'm recommending the X-Terra Pro is because of the Simplex + and they're not doing anymore Updates for it and it's not really that old of a Detector but To already be shelved the Simplex says ALOT about the Notka Macro Product's Company and the Simplex+ All Metal Mode is a 5 button push to get to it and the X-Terra Pro is a 1 Button Push to get to it and the New Simplex Ultra is a 6 button push and that's why I'm telling you to get the X-Terra Pro and once you get the ground balance settings done with you can just go with it and detect and don't have to do it Everytime you turn it on and I have noticed that it will stay with the settings on the ground balance.... but I love ❤️ the X-Terra Pro.... and the only thing that is different from the At Max. is the Max is a multi frequency and the X-Terra Pro is a single frequencies but for the beach it's a 8 MHz frequency and the X-Terra Pro also has the 5-8-10-15 MHz frequency but not at the same time but with the pro switch they are very easy to get to them and check out a Target And I have used the all metal mode ALOT More since it is easier to get to it and I have forgotten about it too and dug up some iron but it's still a New Detector to me and I was using the Simplex for about 4 years but as soon as I got the X-Terra Pro the Simplex is collecting Dust.....

    'Head stamp' is not the correct term for the shotgun hull, or whats left of it. A head stamp is the markings on the hull.

      I took it to park that was recently rained on last night and lots of false signals I think maybe my sensitivity might have been up to high but I didn't realize it until I left. I kind of missed the bounty hunter It just had like two tons and it was real easy to use this one sounds like it's playing music to your ears
