- I had to make a third part due to complications meaning people calling me .......but enjoy this little clip.
How to fix noBus on a Jeep Wrangler. You'll need a small and big 4 way screw driver, something to pry with (pocket knife, straight screwdriver) rubbing alcohol and cotton swaps.
Thank you. I have been living with this issue for about 12 years, and Chrysler has been telling me to replace the ignition/starter switch which I have done 3 times. I think your suggestions will finally solve the issues!
Tom Ruark I hoped it worked out
This instructional video was perfect. I just did everything you did and when I started my Jeep up, there was "no bus" on my dash :). Thank you! Hopefully this takes care of the problem. I had some guys at an Auto Zone tell me to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes. I did that but it only lasted a couple of weeks. Here's hoping your fix is the ticket!! Thanks again!!
Have the "no bus" on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee. "Check Engine" and "airbag" light on. Then fuel gauge did not work. Then speedometer did not work. Then various combinations of above and/or all worked. Poking around web - seems what you did is the cure or at least most popular thought. Running second is the idea that if the motor will not start, the "no bus" probably means the crankshaft positioning indicator needs replacement. Good video - gives me the idea of what to expect. As you - usually use rubbing alcohol on electrical stuff, but for this have also bought a spray can of "electrical cleaner" to give it a shot. Will try this in a few days.
Well, I thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I had this going on with my 2000 Wrangler for two years since a new radio was installed in it. If I were to hit a bad spot in the road, I live in New York City, I would get that error. NO BUS. I will give it a try now that I see how easy it is to remove the parts of the dashboard. Thanks again. By the way, I have also a water leak coming from the front dash window I guess. I know there is a gasket of some sorts under the window and was wondering if you ever worked on that problem. ???
Great videos! I am going to try all this. My jeep runs and I have most gauges, I'm not getting the no bus that I used to get, but my turn signals and after market stereo do not work. I need to get my annual inspection but I don't think it will pass without turn signals. Any thoughts on if this would fix that issue? Thanks so much!
Thank you
NoneMechanic101 you're welcome
