I kept getting goosebumps throughout the video. All i can say is this No one fights better and serves this great nation better than the United States Marines they are truly the most elite fighting force on earth! And will always be the most ready when the nation is the least ready. Stay motivated and Happy birthday to the Corps and to all the Marines, Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful.
As the proud Daughter of a Marine, Richard Bates (USMC Chosin Reservoir) "The Chosin Few," and the wife of a Marine, Dennis Long, USMC Vietnam era I wish the United States Marine Corps a Happy 240th Birthday! God bless you all and thank you for serving this great nation! Semper Fi!
I recently reached out to my parents, who are both back home in India. They moved to the United States in 1980. They came here to provide me and my brothers a better life. To thank them, and the country which provided our family a better life, I joined the Marine Corps. Without this country, and the sacrifice my parents made, I wouldn't be here, without the Corps, I wouldn't be the man I am today. To all the Marines, in country, deployed, with their families, THANK YOU, for giving me a second family. We are the best. Now pop that collar, walk with that cocky swagger you deserve, and remember, the Corps will remain with you till the day you die.
Happy Birthday Marines !!! Very proud my son and nephew is serving the U.S Marines, one in Hawaii and the other in San Diego! !! God bless all the Marines and their leaders, with strength, honor, and wisdom !!
I remember running off the bus in 1980 to stand on the yellow footprints where my father and grandfather once stood. The feeling of pride was stronger then anything I had ever felt. At last I was going down the same road as the men in my family. The next six years made me the man I am today and allowed me to overcome many obstacles in my life. I haven't put on the uniforms hanging in my closest since 1986 but the same pride still flows through me as it did then. Happy Birthday Boys. Semper Fi and God Bless you all.

Happy belated birthday to all Marines! Marines are a unique breed. They run toward danger when every instinctive thing tells them the exact opposite. I am so proud to have served, 93-99, 2nd FSSG, 26th MEUSOC, MSSG 26, and am honored to have served with some of the best human beings on the planet. I personally think that one of the best attributes of a Marine is Honor. It was a great thing to know that when you needed help, another Marine was instantly there. To me that was/is a good feeling. It lets you do things that would otherwise never be possible. Semper Fi!!!
That was heart warming and I'm so very proud of my son who is a USM, and I wish the entire USMC a warm happy birthday. God Bless The USMC. respectfully a Marine Mother.

It saddens me when 23, Oct. 1983 is still being glossed over. 220 of my fellow MARINES where popped in a second. The message said other conflicts in the 80s. Thats what happens when our CIC turns tail and runs. Once a MARINE always a MARINE. Semper - Fi devil dogs. Long live the Corps. (for all you non MARINES just google 23 oct 1983)
+Kelly Miedema The people who count haven't forgotten you or your brothers. I was in high school at the time and one of the Marines there had graduated from my high school a few years before. When he was able to come home on leave he came and gave a speech at our school. Watching that corporal talk and watching his bearing and his confidence in who and what he was is what led me to finally enlist in 92 (a little late, I know, but I spent some time in college). I finally retired in '13 as a GySgt and having worked with some of the finest men to have ever walked this earth. Beirut will never be far from our minds. Semper Fi, brother!
+Michael Taylor 220 MARINES, 18 SAILORS, 3 SOLDIERS. 128 wounded 13 later died from wounds received. 258 total deaths on one day for a mission that was destine to failure. "They came in peace" and left in pieces. The largest loss of life on one day for the MARINE CORPS since Iwo-Jima. Reagan could have done more for these brave MARINES before the blast, and for their families after. And as he looks on Heavens scene he should apologize to everyone one of those men before he is allowed to walk on the their streets. Thats one of the reasons I only stayed in for 6 years. The other was to be with my family more. I live on a hill 3 miles from the rear gate of Pendleton so every 23 Oct. and 10 Nov. I do a left face and tip one to the Corps. And I know what you mean by a little late. I was 26 when I stepped on those yellow footprints, following in my fathers footprints. He served from 1950 to 54. He served on Korea and made the Inchon landing. Thanks for your sacrifice Gunny. 258 RIP.

You'll pretty much never 'ask' for anything for the next four years: ) If the Doc says you're flat footed, you'll get inserts. Don't worry about that so much as conditioning yourself for running and hiking in boots with a pack. I'd suggest starting to train for this now, but get into it very slowly and STOP if anything hurts.
Is there any way possible to get an age waiver approve at the age of 37 to join the Marine Reserves without prior service? Or is there anyone in the Marines an officer or someone with rank that I could submit a petition to ,for this to be consider?
