I like the fact that the “Guest” accommodations are not a cozy retreat. That means they won’t stay too long. Just my wife and I would be amazingly happy in this rig. I think I like it better than the Winnebago 25 RG. There is also enough room for my “Reclusive” cat. I love it! The camp kitchen is perfect, the dorm fridge is the icing on the cake. This rig is beautiful!
If you like that 2405RG Winnebago, then I think you'll like the new Cougar 23MLS coming out too. It's like the 2405RG, but very updated and modernized with an AWESOME bathroom
This floor plan is perfect for me . For me it would be for just two people. I love how everything is easy access and spacious. The fride is eye level .which is rare
Almost perfect. I just wish it had a little counter space in the bathroom. I need a place to put my hair stuff when I am dressing in the morning. I love everything else about this one.
I like the smaller fifth wheels and travel trailers, this one is just about as long as I'd want. I'm sure you'll do a video of the new smaller ones when they arrive, in the meantime I hope you manage to get some rest, and thanks for the detailed and informative videos you do.
Would have liked to see cross ventilation in the bedroom. Like the seats and the booth, fireplace is a must. Update 6/21: shortly after watching this my wife and I bought one and have been camping every month since we got it in January. In short, LOVE IT! Ours has the fireplace otherwise it’s exactly like the one Josh is showing. It is everything and more than what I expected.
My fella had a recent health scare that became the catalyst for an adventurous midlife crisis (i say with love) , we are now the proud owners of a Ford F-350 dually diesel AND we just bought this 5th wheel! Yeah...my head is still spinning, but it turns out this viking girl loves both! Ours has the solar panel, and instead of the theater seating, it just has a couch. I am wondering if changing to theater seating is a massive cost? We are scheduled to pick it up and our walk through/tutorial next week. After looking at so many different options, I was shocked at how many of the beds had my feet hanging off, so I loved that this has a true queen size bed. As a recent reality show contestant in Norway, I learned that camping is a definite lifestyle, and I am excited to become a part of it! Thanks for the video!
Really like this one, a few changes I'd like for my personal preferences. None should be very difficult. Wish you were closer to me, it's a 2 day drive 1 way.
Like this compact layout, and like they even got a good size shower with built in seat in this camper! And I do prefer a dinette over table and chairs. Like the theater seats too. But one improvement I'd like to see is to have the back of the dinette seat (the one next to the theater seats) fold down when its not needed for the dinette, so the one theater seat could have a table of sorts to set food, drinks, a laptop etc. on (even at home my laptop sets on an end table next to my recliner).
Also like it has the roof mount solar prep from the factory!! Would like a fireplace too (if it could be added without loosing too much cabinet space...and actually I see on Keystones web site it is an option). InCommand, 2" receiver hitch and some other standard features nice. This layout really growing on me the more I look at it.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I do like the 25.5REOK too. But the bigger shower in the Cougar (and a couple other tweaks) really has this 25RES appealing to me for some reason (...where a few weeks ago it was not even on my radar).
....BTW my 45' x 24' RV Port finally went up 10 days ago (hope to have the 14' x 22' door on it in a few weeks), so I am getting closer to actually picking an RV to buy, and not just comparing all the floor plans of them LOL
Really depends on the truck. The heavy payload 1/2s would be plenty fine here. Those are not very common of course. 3/4 all day would be great of course.
Hi Josh. Love your videos. Can you point me in the direction of tire pressure recommendations? I'm about to throw on some 10 ply Goodyears on my F-150 and tow a eagle. The tires say they are good for 80 psi but I don't know how much pressure to put in them.
Can you get this with a front cap window? I would also prefer free-standing Dinette. Can you get it with a fireplace? If so we might have to take a road trip. 😄
Cougar does not currently offer a optional front windshields. Either they have them or they don't. Table and Chairs as well as fireplace are available as normal options however!
I don't get into R-Values because there are too many in this business that push completely false or hollow "40" or "52" utter nonsense. 0-110 tested and proven. *That's* what matters.
Significantly superior heating with floor ducting. Cabinet ducting has its own benefits, but it loses a *lot* of effectiveness. Here's a video with some more details on that: th-cam.com/video/cK7xe1-FdA8/w-d-xo.html Neither system is "better" They're each better at different things Actual testing has shown floor ducting heating to be the best option for folks actually interested in cold camping.
We'd love to give you a call, but we do not have your contact information. I've flagged this thread to withhold your responses if you'd like to leave a reply so we might reach out. You're welcome to test it first.
Another awesome video! This is the shortest length and tallest height fifth wheel I have seen. What that means to me is that is has the most weight; worst cornering and worst aerodynamic drag per square foot of living space. So my question is, what is the longest length and shortest height fifth wheel? A front bunk would still be usable at a camp trailer height, while giving better handling; lower center of gravity, lower weight and lower aerodynamic drag, while providing more square footage. Does anyone in the industry even go there?
FW height is going to always hover around the range you see here due to the way the consumer market has moved away from non-stand-in bedrooms even in a smaller FW market. Front bunk models have been done here and there, but proved weirdly unpopular. I've never understood it.
Great video as always. I'm sure you have discussed this before, but will a this 5th wheel work with a short bed 2012 Tundra? Are the auto sliding 5th wheel hitches good for short bed trucks?
"Short bed" used to mean 6.5 ft bed. Now there are also these 5.5ft bed models, so we need folks to be a little more specific to answer with confidence. If a 6.5ft bed, then you should be able to get JUST shy of a 90 degree turn w/o modifications or sliding hitching If a 5.5ft bed, then you're likely going to want some kind of assistance be it a pivoting pinbox (like on the new Eagles for 2021) or sliding hitch (which can work in those "shorter than short bed" models)
I see these half ton cougars pins are much further out in front of the cap than most others. Are these officially short bed towable? Six foot four, short bed)
It *just* became available as an option. When we ordered much of our inventory the fall revisions hadn't been fully implemented. That became available *after* we ordered it. However, you can find we do include that feature on this one bit.ly/2q0DlKL
All Cougars are electric slides across the board. I'm not aware of any FW builder using manual slides at any brand. Regarding towing -- would need to know the bed size rather than cab type as you could have a truck with different size bed and cab arrangements.
Our pricing is below MFG advertising allowances. It's an annoying thing called "MAP" pricing. We don't like it, but we play by the rules at our facility. You'll notice there's a "Get Web Special Price" button that will trigger our system to email you pricing immediately. I hate the work around, but it can't be avoided here. Here's a link to get right back to the camper: bit.ly/35EIwQC
Same place as most fifth wheels -- in the front under the gooseneck area. The spare tire would simply need to be relocated. The bottom of that compartment actually has the punch outs for generator exhaust systems.
Sorry about that! There's a reason I do a lot of things habitually -- that way I don't miss stuff :) Take a look at this video: bit.ly/2ZZFJ6T It has the same bed/bath upper deck

If swapping seats from the factory, then it costs almost nothing. Aftermarket it costs a mint.
Need space for office, freestanding dinette, rounded nose for short bed truck, and under 1500# pin weight. Four season warranty is great.
