The first 100 mile HG flight in Aus - by Ron Grey (Gray?) in 1981. Whatever happened to him since? The late Phil Sjostrom of SA was the FAI Observer for the flight.
"He (Presumably Ron Grey) was a very clever guy and developed a mass spectrometer under his own brand GBC scientific instruments." Of course Phil Sjostrom (also in this video) went on to make instruments (vario/ altimeters) for HG many years later.
