that steering wheel reminds me of the ones ford used for the 1980-86 F series pickups/ econolines except those werent color keyed. Henry fords statement you can have any color you want as long as its black applied there. personally I like the years with the round headlamps better.

The disc front brakes off these 70s Granadas are used for 60s Mustangs drum to disc conversions. Also Lincoln Versailles were stripped of their Complete Rear Axles for their Locking Rear Ends and Rear Disc Brakes.

Early V-8 Granada issues with aerodynamics
Around 115 mph air pressure under the front will unload front suspension to the point the steering can be cycled side to side
Lock to lock.... front tires will go up in smoke.....
All the while with little to no steering input.......
However , if overdone treads will overheat then separate from the tire......
When applied properly front tires can be preheated before entering a turn allowing for better gripshun, yah gripshun is what the old timers
    Used to call it

My Mum had a ford granada when she was young. hers was a 1979 and it was a light blue coloured car with dark blue interior. she bought it of a neighbour in 1983 and had when she had 3 babies. I was the youngest and only son born. she kept it until 1991 when that car bit the dust so she had to have it towed to my local auto wrecker

  • @heyrod59

The "rough idle" could be more than a carb rebuild as cars this new/old don't do well on ethanol used in gas today. Then there's vacuum leaks at the intake manifold and ancillary hoses. Oil leaks are what they are, if they're not real bad , you leave them alone. Wouldve been nice to see the underside of this nice driving example........

  • @knowbodiesfull5768

  • @jamesbass9797

That's not leather in the interior it is vinyl and that is not a coin collector either. It's an ashtray. lol What you have there is a baseline model Ford Granada. Leather interior on this car was an option for the Ghia models only and not base models. What you have is a good candidate for a total restoration. Probably cost you around 25k to get it done correctly. Problem is you'll have more money in it than it's actually worth by a good 15k at least.

No. There's no evidence of such excessive mileage. I'm not gonna give away the store here, but a car with 150k miles, the pedals would be worn down, and so on, but I will tell you first hand. These cars are guaranteed to practically self destruct at 90 to 100k miles. That's all the 70s cars are good for.
