cheers mate, yeah it makes me smile. Too many mods to list, but if you want that sort of power you will need the usual exhaust, filter & intercooler. To get over 300hp you'll need an RS turbo ( or bigger ) & bigger injectors. The clutch will need upgrading to an RS item. The block is prone to cracking, so you'll need to get the block mod for piece of mind. I use mine on the track so I have fitted an LSD & forged the block for strength. The ecu is different to the focus, I got my map from Pumaspeed, it was at 353hp here, but now it's forged I will be getting the map tweaked again. Be prepared to spend between 5 & 8 grand to get to 350 -400bhp! Not cheap, but fun 😊 & it's good to be different.
No problem mate. I'm definitely willing to spend that kinda money on it. I originally wanted the focus st but insurance companies want an arm and a leg 😂whereas if i get an s-max, they want a third of the quote i got for the focus st. i need a bigger car anyway so can't go wrong really 👌 i was thinking of having the m66 box out of the focus put in it aswell because of the shorter ratios but i have no idea if its a straight swap or some retrofitting is required. if you have time, would you mind reading my thread regarding my whole s-max idea? this is the link: www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/89575-somewhat-planned-s-max-25t-st-sleeper-build/ Thanks for replying mate. i really appreciate it 😊
Richard Ryan (The Stig) That's pretty much what I've done to mine. That map will not get you over 300hp even with all those mods. I have the m66 fogs box on mine, it makes a big difference to the acceleration, you loose a bit of top end rush though, but much more fun, straight swap! I have a 3J plated LSD in it, much better than quaife on track, jut for the road quaife is good. Put a group A filter on it & get an ecu holder, looks better & makes a nice noise. I changed the actuator & recirc valve to turbosmart & along with a HKS evc6 boost controller gives you much better boost control. Same exhaust system as I have, Airtec intercooler & I put an RS oil cooler on it as it's bigger. I have ksport 8 pot brakes with 356mm calipers & bc gold coilovers. It's a quick car that suprises a lot of people, I like the sleeper idea thing, I just have red RS wheels, but apart from that it's stock outside. And if you're getting it forged, then get the block mod done at the same time, it will save a lot of heart ache later, a friend of mine cracked liners in 2 ST's!!
Nick Holder do you have a custom map on your car or was it a maxd out one? So basically I should get the mods done then have it mapped? I'm definitely gonna have the m66 box put in then. From what I've seen its a cheap mod to do so it's a no brainer really. I'll think I'll go with the j3 LSD as it seems to distribute the power better than the quaife and I wanna do track days in it. If I do get the scorpion exhaust, I'm thinking of having the resonator deleted but not decided yet. I'm gonna have the rs oil cooler put on too.
