I’ve seen him twice in concert and he’s amazing! This is him…he is both. Half of the country songs on the radio he wrote…now it’s his turn. He has really country songs like Country as Hell and Rednecker… then he has others like Give Heaven Some Hell and Wait in the Truck! Love it all!
I'll add my vote for, "Wait In The Truck," (the official video) which is pretty much pure country, but with a storyline that will have you invested in 15 seconds. The songwriting/storytelling is amazing. Country, but absolute badass 🔥 in a different way, because when it's over you'll either be thinking hard or have a strong opinion in one direction or other.
So great you made that Puddle Of Mud reference. He covered Blurry and absolutely nailed it. You’ll have to check it out.

Hardy's new song "Jack". You gotta pay attention to the words A LOT, then pay attention to the inflections in his voice, then realize that the music and all the imagery in the video all are perfectly in sync with the story as it unfolds.
*I had never heard of Hardy until this morning when I checked out his song "Sold Out". Wait, what? How have I never heard of this guy? I've now listened to all his songs and made a playlist with him. I can't wait to see what he does next!* 🤘🤘🤘
Same thing happened to me about two weeks ago. He has an amazing blend of country,2000s alt rock, with hard rock and a bit of metal thrown in.

Hardy is the hottest songwriter in country music right now. If you want to listen to his other rock sounding songs I’d recommend Jack and then Sold Out. He has a couple more country sounding ones also with amazing songwriting like Wait in the Truck

A lot of people have actually heard many of his songs, they just don't know he wrote them. This is a play on his writing styles and the differences between them. I think the more I study him, I am finding out that he is just now coming out with his own styles he loves to write about and performing them himself. It is the story embedded in the lyrics of this song. He was hired as a song writer in the lyrics and now he is coming out and becoming recognized as the artist behind those lyrics we are so familiar with, It is cool to watch this happen!
Hardy is doing a show with puddle of mud this month in South Carolina. He’s the opening act . His blurry cover is amazing.

If you want some more of his rock stuff i’d definitely check out “Blurry”, “Sold Out”, “Jack” and “Boots”. But you really need to check out “Wait in the Truck” to truly appreciate his lyricism and storytelling ability as well as versatility as an artist. I always love watching people discover Hardy, he’s such an amazing artist!

Hardy is a true artist, some of the more intense songs are Sold Out, Wait In The Truck, and Give Heaven Some Hell. I've seen him live, and I was a fan before, but now I'm a fan for life!! He is, by far, one of the greatest storytellers there has ever been. I'm still seeking out his music....actively!
I am so thankful that you made the reference to Shinedown - "The Crow and The Butterfly" --I was trying my best to think of --who had a crow album... (old age) Hardy is a lyrical genius- born in a small town in Miss, originally was writing for other artist and is signed with "Big Loud" label in Nashville- "down on 16th avenue"- but, he has made it known he will be doing he own style of music and not conforming to their normal. The reference in this song to the mockingbird and the crow-- is that they are opposites. One copies everything others do and follows others-- while the crow is the outcast, and flies alone. Also, on the album itself-- this song splits the tracks -- half of it is country(mockingbird) and the other half more rock(crow)

He's talking about our hometown of Philadelphia, MS.
So HARDY has sort of just come on like a gang buster in 2022, and especially the past two months. For his career, he's had three or four solo country songs released to radio. One went #1. He's had a second #1 as a featured artist. He has also been a writer on nine other country #1s. He's owned all the songwriters' awards the last year and a half. He's had a country album, but he's also done two others called Hix Tapes 1 & 2 where he has mostly other artists singing collabs with him and with others, but that HARDY writes on all of them.
This year he's been touring with Wallen and they have blown up cities wherever they've played. But also this Spring he released a rock song "Sold Out" with no warning to fans or anyone in public that he was going that way. It went #1 on the Hard Rock Songs Chart in its 2nd week out. He had a short headlined tour this Summer / Fall called "Sold Out" that sold out. In probably August or so, he released a banger hit country song "Wait In The Truck" with a video release and released as a single to radio all subsequently. In early October, he released another rock song called "Jack" that's peaked #2 on the Songs Chart so far.
At 2:30 a.m. on Oct 9, he and two crew members and driver all nearly died in a tour bus crash on their way back from playing Bristol Motor Speedway with Wallen; bus went off the side of I-40 just inside Nashville's County line (Davidson). He missed two shows; one to have been with Wallen; one with Ern.
Later in October, he released this song; plus two others (one country, one rock); announced his album Mockingbird and Crow to be released in January; and explained to fans what he's doing with a half ROCK half country album. The ROCK part is in all caps; country in all lower case. If you go back to the video from around August, you'll see that it was in his plan for a while, because all the credits on the video are lower case; even his stage name HARDY is in lower case "hardy". Last week his three rock songs that have been released in his career so far were 3,4,5 on the Hard Rock Songs Chart. Wait In The Truck is 16 on the Hot Country Songs Chart, which is much tougher competition than the rock chart, and is 21 or so on country radio. It is also a top viewed country video.
In a recent podcast HARDY told Tracy Lawrence that he was releasing "Jack" to rock radio. Ppl are discovering HARDY in droves from all races and genres, and even his fans are rediscovering where he is going with his music and talent. He released his 2023 tour schedule "Mockingbird and Crow"; put tickets up for sale. It has sold out.
