Matt does nothing short of compose his parts. They are so methodical, intentional, and intricate. He's writing a symphony of drum heads and cymbals.

Matt is the top metalcore drummer hands down. Not the most technical, not the most "groovy," not the fastest, but he encompasses all the skill and technique to conquer the genre.

You know somebody its good in something that, you dont have a remote idea how to do what he is doing, but you want to do it.

ABR the real solid metalcore ever...never disappointing their fans
The problem I’m seeing here is that I’ve been watching this guy for literally almost the entirety of the ABR career, and as each new release comes out, somehow he stays consistent with many things, yet the creativity is so wild enough that he makes this look just as easy as the old material... but it is most definitely not. I can hardly keep up with how genius and heavy his drumming is. Each album just keeps getting more cool, yet more hard to play. Thanks a lot, my head hurts every time I try to fathom every minute detail in these songs.

Only insecure people would be offended by that, by comparing themselves. If anything, it should give us inspiration. Heck, if anything this comment that I’m making right now might be more offensive than yours. But that’s okay. The truth can be hard to swallow ;)
That’s why the vid has like 30 dislikes, some drummers are extremely jealous of better drummers. I guess they think they feel offended by Matt’s amazing drumming.

The fills have fills, everything perfectly accentuated, meanest and cleanest tune ever on those heads. 2:40 is reminiscent of Messengers while simultaneous proof that they continue to grow and are, in this guys opinion, one of the best bands metal has and will ever see. Matt Greiner along with the rest of this band are truly blessed in their abilities as musicians. They don't know how to disappoint. All hail the king of china!!
Can't wait to see them tour again. Was bummed when they canceled their shows and I couldn't attend, but man I can't wait to see them tour with this new album. It's going to be insane. Please start it off in Lancaster county :)

GOOD LORD that breakdown though
It's hard to put my finger on exactly what it is about Matt's playing. I'm not really even into metal that much anymore (getting more into the hardcore side of heavy music), his playing seems to focus around the most musical parts of metal drumming. Very solid and crisp, and every now and then he busts out pretty impressive double bass or blast beat speed, but always with precision.
If any metal drummer could get hired for an Rnb gig based off of their metal drumming performance, I think it would be Matt Greiner. Classy humble yet sometimes surprisingly flashy drumming, all while having a sound completely his own (somehow in a way that isn't obvious).
I wished I had 2 hearts to love this more, and four legs and arms also to be able to keep up. All you percussionists should bow down to whatever god this man says exists, because he speaks and is the truth. Much love to MG for the inspiration, he never fails to keep progression of a stagnant world moving forward and I couldn't love it more.
Also Chris - if you did the sound on this one - thank you because you nailed it!

Seriously. Not very many bands come to mind if you were to ask which bands don't have a single bad song? ABR is the only Christian metal band I listen to. Relient K is the only other Christian band (not metal) that I listen to. As a former Christian, these are the only two bands I cannot resist
