    Today, I completed the kitchen herringbone parquetry.
    Solo. Just like yourself.
    Went with the herringbone style, instead of the chevron, straight, or basket weave application, settled on the herringbone because I am adhering to a coastal country theme.
    And the herring, is correlated to that.
    So I ran with it.
    Your video assisted too, by the ease with which you made it so doable.
    And I did the same.
    Took my time .
    And careful, but confident.
    Looks super . I feel very satisfied and gosh it's a great feeling .
    Isn't it ?
    Your no fuss get it done confidence, assisted.
    Thankyou.

    Looks like you did a great job. What are the tolerances for how flat the floor is after plying for parquet? My joiner has just put 6mm ply over my chipboard subfloor and there's approx 10mm drop over 1m in places. Too much and do we need to self level first?

    Amazing. I've seen a bunch of manufacturers recommend starting with a triangle. You managed to install this floor very quickly without the triangle. Do you ever use one for larger rooms?

    • @Gumball89
      @Gumball89 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would if a natural hardwood floor is laid but since this is engineered flooring there is no need

    • @spebbmaster9242
      @spebbmaster9242 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gumball89 Thanks Stephen, isn't engineering floor has real wood top layer too? Just wants to be sure as I'm planning a bit DIY myself in the spring. Thanks!

    • @Gumball89
      @Gumball89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@spebbmaster9242 it does have a top layer of 3-5mm but it would be unlikely to expand like hardwood. If your home is a fairly consistent temperature year round, I would leave the wood in the room it’s being laid out in for about a week beforehand to “acclimatise” and expand or contract before laying it. This will help to navigate any risk of expansion, as it’s likely the wood will have been stored in a colder environment than a home

    Hi
    Thanks for the video. I’ve seen some suggestions about putting down a foam underlay between the wood and sub floor - is that not possible with glue down floors?
    I’m assuming it’s only for floating but wanted to ask

    • @NicksWoodFlooring

      I didn’t start from that wall, I started from the middle of the hallway coming towards this room that is shown in the video.
      In this room the wall was a bit off comparing with the hallway that’s why we have to cut the corners of each board.
