You guys might want to know why there is no video in the beginning. The real story is that the videographer was so moved by the song that he just stopped filming until the middle. I was there that night and the videographer is one of my close friends and old roommates.
Well why is there still audio in the middle of the song with no video? If he stopped filming we wouldn't be able to hear audio. I call bullshit, sir. I bet this weirds you out that I'm commenting on something you wrote 7 years ago ha.
Probably because the audio is recorded on a separate microphone with better audio quality, a quite common and essential technique for recording good audio fidelity.
J E not weird at all. Nate Chan was filming, Aaron Miller was recording off of the soundboard. They worked together at Cameraphonic while they were collaborating with La Blogothèque.
Bon Iver and Damien Rice are great. I also want to mention Tom McRae, he`s so underrated, it hurts. Check out his song "Ghost of a shark" here on youtube. :)
If that was the case, then why is there lots of footage from the same show from before this? Did he shoot the show, put the lens cap on before the encore, and then suddenly take it off in the middle of the encore? Re: Stacks was the encore, FYI. If you think I'm lying, just search Daily Motion for the other songs: Lump Sum and Blindsided are also shot in full with no "issues." Look him up, Nate Chan. Co-founder of Cameraphonic and Yours Truly SF.
i'm sure the 2 people who disliked this video were extremely embarassed when they realized they clicked the thumbs down button by mistake. this is a lovely song.
Wow already 15 years! The world was safer, more fixed, we were hopeful. Now im bald, overweight, single, and the world is much more tense. Is it me or we lost something?
@BonIverSUCKS gee dude, i would really hate to be living your life.. truly. thanks for being one of life's randomly occuring reminders to enjoy my lovely crapfest of a life, with bon iver as the soundtrack for the moment ;)
Haha, then let me just say that truth is stranger than fiction. I believe the guy who made it and wrote the video description for La Blogothque, my ex-roommate and good friend :)
If there was low battery, then why did it suddenly come on in the middle of the song? That would make no sense. I have no reason to lie about it. Look him up, Nate Chan. Co-founder of Cameraphonic and Yours Truly SF.
In fact the footage is less than a minute long, the rest is missing. I believe it is due to a low battery. Misfortunes happen, I just wish it didn't on this wonderful performance
Bon Iver, In my view now is even better than Damien Rice. And yes Tom McRae is brilliant aswell, Good to see some people actually listen to quality music :)
Take it easy, man! The low battery makes more sense. He was moved by the performance, I acknowledge that, who wouldn't? But why stop filming after 03:25? The audio track is from another source, La Blogotheque are not amateurs to keep an audio file recorded by a camera, believe me. Have a nice day and enjoy the music!
It could be because of the tuning and where he capo's the guitar. I think it sounds better electric. Tried it both ways. Who knows though. Just a guess.
Hey! If you are seeing this, I just wanted to let you know that Jesus loves you! He loves you so much that He died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead so that you could be saved from sin and the wrath of God! This is the Gospel; you can be saved from God’s wrath and hell if you believe and trust in Jesus! God Bless you all!!
16 years ago, but i'm still here.
Remembering the good old days
we’ll be alright. i sure hope.

Hey Warren! Awesome to see you comment on a Bon Iver video

Don't really see the issue with what is mentioned, they just wanted to add to the emotion of the song.
I've realised this kind of song writing comes only from deep pain. A truly amazing song
My future children will grow up listening to Bon Iver
Bon Iver is the God of my sad moments of life.
Thanks for being so perfect composer.
ive been having a tough week and this seems to be the only thing that brings me up
exact same scenario. just learned re:stacks on guitar and have been non. stop playing if for hours.
agreed one of my favorite songs of all time, life is better with this song in the world.
The only reason I can come up that 6 people disliked this is that they are deaf and were disappointed with the black screen..... This is pure magic.
Who needs to see the picture? This is perfect.
Never fails. I hear this song and it moves me to tears. What an incredible tune.
He is so good I can't find words.
That was beautiful. I'm impressed the audience was quiet that long.
I think this video was to highlight the emotion during his performance & if not thats how I perceived it.
Pure beauty.
amazing.... i just can cry and let it go.... tanks bon
gets me every time
Here's to 10 years

And the article linked in the description itself - en.blogotheque. net/2008/04/06/bon-iver-en/
3:00 He sings the wrong lyrics, but it still fits perfectly.
beautiful
is anyone else going to the LA show -- he's playing in the Hollywood Cemetary at sunrise!!. is he doing this in any other states or just in LA?
@JBrands twilight maybe? sound might not be similar, but the emotion sure is.
your love will be safe with me
