Hope that means we're seeing a trimmer in the vertical plugin! I hadn't thought of that setback but now you pointed it out it seems like a necessity to have on the vertical plugin too
Just want to point out how much I respect Harris for only doing ads for products actually relevant to this channel. That's why I always watch these ad reads, even If I don't want the product, but I'll skip other tech/gaming channels trying to sell me on shoes or microwave dinners.
I used it for tiktok multiple times and it makes me gain so much time when the clip doesn't need editing. But Vertical on OBS is really useful to gain time when editing. Both are good in their own way
I feel it's awesome to have this editor, it removes the need of spending extra money on such apps no offense, for streamers with almost no viewers, it's hard to spend so much money on such stuff, twitch integration is great for this, sizzle is super amazing man, saves me a lot of time of editing, i just check the clips and export ❤❤❤
I have been using your vertical tool ever since it came out and LOVE it... I have recommended it on my Discord as I have a lot of people that are follow streamers and were happy to have it.
You're 100% right about the lack of trimming, viewers always cut half way through a word, or right as something is happening, that wasn't necesarrily relevant to the initial reason they clipped it and it's super messy I run clips at the start of my stream and on my BRB screen and whenever I see those one's with the half cut words, it always hurts a little, so Twitch not allowing editing in the vertical editor is a HUGE missed opportunity, you either have to trawl through hours of footage to clip it again properly or you have to manually edit it, which is an absolute pain in the ass
You’re f***in’ awesome bro!!! Didn’t even know Aitum was yours. That and streambeats are amazing. Thank you so much for making my editing SOOO much faster with the little time I have after 14 hr work days 🔥 🤙🏻 🙏🏻 😄
I like the new tool on Twitch, it does what it says in the title, it works. Yes it's limited, and could do with some more features but it works. And to be fair, saying they're "copying your homework" is probably overthinking things, there are lots of vertical editors available, lots of them have been around since the day TikTok released, some even before that, long before you made yours (which i do agree is the best on the market).
A lack of layout editability makes this tool seem like an afterthought for Twitch, when things like streamladder and joincombo have much more customization in layouts. Vertical is easily the champ of making, well, vertical content.
Hey Harris I love this twitch update definitely going to try this out. I tried vertical but unfortunately my computer wasn’t good enough to handle streaming and running the vertical plugin at the same time. Not gaming either, I just have a live art stream. Really love the concept of the vertical plugin would love to use it.
Editor is not bad. But you cant shorten or lengthen a clip, and I wish they would let you move the Twitch logo somewhere. I tried it a couple of days. Def made things easier, but found to many things lacking so still using Davinci. Great vid
That was exactly the thing that I thought was missing when I tested this. I think the trimming part is suuuper important. As for the twitch soundtrack, I had parts of VOD muted in the past when I tried it. But the thing is that they were saying to use the soundtrack + some extension or something that removes the songs from VODs and clips, which I didn't use. Anyways, with my setup I cannot do that anyways, so it sucked to find out that it was not 100% safe.
nice video...Thanks. I think, there is something both are missing: Subtitles...Not a big problem for me, since i use vertical and edit it quickly afterwards in resolve. Which has a new auto subtitle feature, that works great. But I think especially for the people, that can't or don't want to edit afterwards it would be a great accessibility feature, that i think is really important.
"I'm very happy about it... even if it's my competition." We love that. Because competition will always benefit the consumer. And I imagine that's why you're happy about it nonetheless because at the end of the day streamers have the most to gain from all of this.
Harris Heller I must say that You making really good stuff. Every tip video from You is very useful and ofc the streambeats - Maaaaan i love this project. I'm using it on my every stream, audience also likes the music very much. You probably get this a lot but I wanted to thank You for creating things that help so much when You are just starting content-creating journey. What makes it even better is the fact that experienced creators are also able to benefit a lot from your work! Keep it up!
A comment on Sizzle... I signed up, but I hope they expand their list of game options to include other genres of games. I do a lot of platformers, roguelikes, metroidvanias, and action RPGs. I see a lot of FPS options :) Some day!
I have 2 Fortnite Tiktok accounts. One for twitch clips and one for better content. So I use the clip one with the new twitch editor and my main account with vertical for better quality, edit etc. Vertical is still better in more ways and for the long run
i do wish that twitch would allow you to adjust the size of the webcam box more instead of it just being the rectangle shape, or even just rotate the box so that it could fit better or something
I had high hopes for Soundtrack because Distrokid allowed you to upload to it. But as a musician I quickly realised that Soundtrack was basically useless. You couldn't search for my music. You can't make playlists. The ONLY way you could get your music to be played was to cross your fingers and hope that an "official Twitch Playlister" would include your music. But there isn't any way to even submit for playlists. There was NO WAY for me to say "oh hey streamers, my music won't get you a copyright strike, please play it on Soundtrack". I'm glad it's gone. Freakin' stupid.
Thank you so much for this video! I felt demotivated to your video about kick and twitch but I feel a lot better knowing I can’t make shorts a lot faster! You’re the best🫡🔥
@Senpai Start off by saying I absolutely luv the Aitum Vertical plugin and on to Twitch, in my opinion Twitch could have done a lot more than add a vertical editor like maybe raising the bitrate for streaming, better revenue splits, rewriting the rules of conduct. This is a few on a list of many. Instead creators got something already offered on the market and in free editing software.
I just tried Sizzle with 3 of my recent streams of Fortnite, and it failed badly, not sure if its the games fault or Sizzle. But 60% of the clips are me sitting in lobby just waiting for game, 20% of clips are me running around the map not even seeing anyone, and the other 20% is fighting, but it keeps making only 13 second clips so it cuts off mid clip.
I can't get the vertical plugin to use American file save path format... so i stop using it...I even posted it in the discord but no answer.. maybe it's fixed..i like it just cant use it
Whenever a viewer makes a clip that doesn't have great start and end points, if it's a good moment I'll just go back and re-clip it. Takes a few minutes each time but gives me something I'm happier to share. Means that I've got plenty of decent old clips that I can now easily turn into vertical videos thanks to the Twitch feature!
Why not both? It feels like they've been releasing a lot of products lately, between the vertical editor and the alerts manager. It's at least a nice contrast to the policies from a few months ago
The fact that you suggested that they do something like this to make clips worth something back in like ~2019 or 2020 (I remember watching the video where you did mock-ups) and they didn’t do it til you did it yourself…
i love vertical but i had to unistall because after i started using it i started dropping frames on my stream so much really sad about that i wish i could use it still
I am super confused why you think they took this idea from you directly as there were already a bunch of vertical edit services available before your plugin. Don't get me wrong as you do some great stuff but this feels kinda weird.
Yeah, this threw me off too. I work for one of those “vertical” software companies and we’ve been around a lot longer than the plug-in🤷♂️. It made me feel a bit dejected😂. Usually love the content!
It's great to know that your own vertical product offering has features like a trimming editor that you criticized your competitor for not having. Glad to see your criticism is applied with equity... ... ...........
@@MikeNovelli bc of this moronic comment, are you that slow that you can't grasp advertising? Something every company does... Or are you having a shitty day that you gonna complain about that?
Unfortunately, backtrack is giving me encoder errors when I try to record 😑 so I might be using the twitch one until I can get it figured out, I really don’t want to go through the process of removing the plug in and set it all up again.
The Twitch downgrade in quality and lack of exact trimming will keep me from using their option. I agree, it's a perfect gateway drug. People will try it, want "a little more" from it, then find a better option. Tale as old as time. Streambeats reigned supreme. Twitch sounds track was so broken, so unusable, there was no way it would've survived. I've musician friends that never got their songs accepted into the program. Me and several of my friends tried installing several different times through the span of MONTHS and it just wouldn't work. One of us got it to work for a couple weeks then it broke and she never managed to get it running again. Streambeats is amazing for many reasons, but acessibility is the reigning one of them.
Hey, guess what...I used Twitch's new vertical editor, realized I needed more vertical content, found this video, and downloaded the OBS plugin. Go figure. As always, thanks for all the content. Best in the biz.
Probably not. Streamlabs typically doesn’t allow plugins onto their software unless it’s partnered with them. Which is why most people use OBS Studio (or Streamelements Plug-in version), since it stayed open-source and allows anyone to install plugins into the software. Also, I think Streamlabs already partnered with a vertical clip company. Forgot which one though, and it says a lot that someone who uses Streamlabs hasn’t heard/seen it either.
