    In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
    Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

      I've got a genius idea for this one. Travel really far. Discard a shoe. Get Alex to agree that it has been discarded. Ask him a philosophical question: If you were walking along a road and you saw a discarded bottle, then picked it up, would it negate the fact it was discarded in the first place? Logically, the answer's no. Pick up shoe and put it back on, having discarded it. Repeat with three other things. That way you keep your clothes and meet the specifics of the task :)

    Watching this episode I suddenly recognised the road! I’ve been down there many times and had no idea that’s where the house was. Checked Google maps and saw it is actually marked, then checked street view and saw why I had never noticed it before. Those gates do an effective job at obscuring it if you don’t know it’s there.

      The task isn't about whether they're discarded or not, it's about spreading them out. You'd still need to travel somewhere else for your other items even if you could retrieve them immediately at each point. Finding a nearby tube station that went both N/S and E/W would be ideal, as you could send clothes on trains in all directions.

    7:50 Holy shit, this is actually genius. Let's say you can only travel "D" distance total. The best possible area you could make is by traveling a square with side length D/4, having area (D/4)^2. However, if you instead give yourself five "nodes" to work with, the best shape you can make is now a regular pentagon of side length D/5, which would have area (5/4)*(D/5)^2 * tan(3π/10), which has a greater area than the square with the same perimeter.

    • @samwiseshanti
      @samwiseshanti ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Funny I was thinking exactly the opposite! Put two next to eachother and make a triangle, then you only have to move twice, put one down straight away, then travel as far as you can, then another, then just go in another direction and then when the time's up pop two down and you'll have a kind of rhombus (but really a triangle). The task is that the shape must be as far and wide as possible, not have the biggest area.

    • @JamesV1
      @JamesV1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I do not know about London´s public transport option, but at the instant and with "at my own cost" in mind I would run to the nearest bus stop, steped on a bus for a one stop and stuff one of my socks (preferably taken down before stepping on that bus) behind a seat or something, then stepped of. If I could send alex with my hat/shirt/coat in the other direction of same line, that would work, too.
    For "wide" parameter I would just leave that sock on my bus and would go to another line going in completely different direction, leave a sock there and then step on another bus with most of clothing still on and would continue till time end.
    I suppose that some TM´s team member would track every piece of my clothing, so it would work pretty well. Using a subway/train for this would be even better (they travel faster) ;)

    • @Trockenshampooleopard
      @Trockenshampooleopard หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why not ask the bus driver or any other passenger if s/he could take care of the item? That way you wouldn't even need to get on the bus.

    • @AlexaFaie
      @AlexaFaie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's often because someone dropped them and someone else saw them on the floor and thought to put them on the railings to put them at eye height (and out of puddles) in case the person who dropped them passed by that way again.
