Very nice 👍! Love your German shepherd! I had one when I was young. I found him locked in our barn. I don't know who put him there but I'm thankful that they did. He grew up with me and he was a great babysitter 😂🤣🤭 when I had my first born son. When my baby was a year and a half, we spent a lot of time outside. We were close to the road and King wouldn't let him get close to the road. My son finally gave up and the last time he stood in my son's way, he laid down in front of him and my son got on his back and was pulling King's ears and snout. King just sat there and took it!! He was a great protector. That was 45 years ago. My son remembers him well. King passed away when my son turned 10. King was 16 years old

That is a GREAT place to build a cabin, in the middle of large garden with fruit trees!! My Grandfather built our house where it was surrounded by fields and in the middle of an orchard. We ate fruit and vegetables that didn't have chemicals in them. We had plum trees, grapes, blackberry and raspberry bushes that we made jelly and wine from. In September my Grandfather would take 50 Kilo sweet corn and 50 Kilo winter barley and put them in the spring that was in a corner of the land, after a few days he would remove the corn and barley and spread the grain on a large canvas blanket in the sun to dry. He mixed corn and barley with spring water and heated up the grains for an hour. Then the mixture was cooled down and yeast was added. The mixture fermented and made alcohol. We had a large still and the mixture was distilled. We made apple cider and it would turn into alcohol and he would distill some of it. We enjoyed drinking cider when it first started to ferment, it was fizzy apple soda with a little bit of alcohol in it. We did the same with blackberry juice. The Priest would come to the farm to bless fields, fruit trees, our home and still. Everyone got wine and whiskey. That was over 70 years ago.
I learned how to make the finest beer from my Grandfather. He would boil some malted barley and add it into 100 Kilos of malted barley that he soaked overnight in cool spring water to raise the temperature of the cold mash and he would let the warm mash rest for about a half an hour, then he would boil more mash and add that into the large batch of mash to raise the mash to a higher temperature and he would boil more mash and raise the large mash to another higher temperature. The liquid would be very sticky from the sugar and he would taste the mash and if it tasted bitter he said "Mother Nature loves us." We have a kettle that has a special bottom in it that has thousands of slots cut in it. My Grandfather would scoop the mash out of the kettle and placed it in the kettle with the plate in the bottom with slots in it. Then he would gently pour hot water over the mash and drain the malt liquid until he had 100L of clear malt liquid. He would boil malt liquid for two hours with hops that he grew and cooled it with a large copper coil that had spring water flowing through it. Before adding hops he would skim off the stuff that would rise and he mixed it with grain and fed the hogs. They loved the sweetened grain. The cold liquid was placed into a special oak barrel that was lined with paraffin mixed with beeswax and yeast was added, after a week he would remove the beer from the barrel and put the beer into another barrel lined with wax and after two weeks he would put the beer into another barrel lined with wax where it was sealed and aged for four months. During Easter he would tap the barrel. The beer glistened like the sun, perfectly clear, bright golden and full of life. I'm too old to make beer anymore but when I was young I made beer the same way my Grandfather made beer, after the first hard frost and with finest malt, hops and beer yeast and with blessing from the Priest and local Witch who knew a lot about Mother Nature. When the mash tasted bitter, Mother Nature loved me. I learned from studying brewing science at university that glucose tastes very bitter and it is glucose that makes alcohol in beer. Glucose is one of the three building blocks of life and enzyme that releases glucose from starch is Alpha. Alpha to the Omega, beginning to the end. Alpha is contained in our saliva and it releases glucose every time we eat starch, at the same time very sweet sugar is released so we do not taste bitter glucose, until the day we end.
