This journey is Romont, the Chartreuse de la Valsainte (ancient monastery), Lake Geneva, Montreaux (of Jazz Festival fame), Verbier (famous ski resort), Valais (mountains), brief flight over Italy, then Locarno and Ascona on the shores of Lake Maggiore.

Moved from Australia to Geneva just over two years ago. Never looked back. Two awesome countries to live in.
I lived by Lago Maggiore for a number of years in the 90's. We owned a small business in Stresa on the Italian side, and used to visit Locarno weekly to explore the restaurants, clubs and gardens on the lake. The approach always reminded me of the South of France, seeing the Mediterranean style villas along the shores of the lake. Magical.

During this coronacrisis, also called fearcrisis and where the worldeconomy is crashing from the cliff, i loved to see this beautiful Swiss landscapes, remember it and hope some day when we stand up from the ruins, i might go again and enjoy this great country.

I'm Swiss Italian (born in Locarno, my parents now live in Ascona) and just watched in amazement...beautiful images! I suggest also to have a look at images of Verzasca Valley and Morcote...and check out the Locarno Film festival, held since 1946, which has welcomed stars like Marlene Dietrich, Jean-Luc Godard, Susan Sarandon, QuentinTarantino, Hilary Swank etc...not to mention the concerts in the main square, where many great artists performed: Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, Peter Gabriel, and many others...
i'm Swiss Italian, living in Winterthur, i have to admit, the most beautiful places are Ticino and the Alps, incl. Geneva and Wallis. Nord East Swiss is also nice, but nothing like Ticino or Wallis
Switzerland is a beautiful country. I was there with my daughter in 2008. We had coffee at the most adorable little coffee shop on top of the mountain. Love from Cape Town, South Africa 😍😄😍

Based on my life in architecture, I find a lot to love in these aerial views of Switzerland. So typically European, in the insistence on aesthetic coherence. Cities are unities of proportionally connected buildings and open spaces. I wish that Americans were less ignorant -- most people live their lives in shopping malls, sports facilities and the freeways connecting them.
When God created the world, and completed His project, He finally shook His hands and Switzerland was born.
One of the places on the list for a visit. 😃

Always thought this view from above was wonderful, until now - Gruyère we saw was thrillingly beautiful and here it lacks colour, and the beauty of walking in and the curves of the street is missing.

Wonderful and amazing nature,thx for the astonishing and impressive shows of Alps and lakes. In the 15.45 minute, one old bridge over the 800 meters from the river down,I would like to see that view.
