HOI4 does a super disservice to New Zealand. We contributed massively to the defence of Greece, Crete, and Egypt. We also fought hard in the Pacific, and right through the entire Italian campaign. A New Zealander was in charge of the defence of Southern Britain during the Battle of Britain. We deserve a better tree and more depth.

New Zealand has its own steel, its own coal, and is as large as Britian. We do lack a population to build quite as much industry, but a focus tree where we take in fleeing Chinese migrants or Pacific people's from the war with Japan to boost construction slots and gain bonuses to infrastructure and generate useful amounts of resources and factories would be one way to take the little corner nation that could, and turn it into a pocket powerhouse while Australia absorbs most of the early casualties. Maybe by making planes and lend leasing them to all your friends or building dockyards and making a navy, or selling Big Bob Bulldozer conversions to the world!
ngl, they should redo the tutorial to be set in New Zealand as well. Managing a little economy, a small army, and having lots of Big Brother nations to help you out (as well as a small focus tree so you won't get lost), would probably be a good rework.
