Man I saw this movie cover so many times and looked right past it because of the name of the movie now I’m going to have to watch it lol plus Tom Hardy is a great actor
True but he probably wouldn’t have the right attitude for it. Martial arts gyms are ruthless places, he’d probably just attack his coaches if he didn’t like how they spoke to him.
I saw the movie and thought "surely this isn't real" and started watching videos about him. If anything the movie was nowhere near as wild as it actually happened. Great movie though.
I have that movie! Tom Hardy said he moved like a shark. Muscles everywhere. The mental hospital part was hard to watch. He never should have been there.
The reason he failed in his parole application, a person who worked for the newspaper came up with an idea to pretend to be Charlies son, Charlie brought into the idea. That person would then feed the newspapers with false stories to make them both money, I believe that due to the amount of press coverage he was getting caused his failure in his attempt to be freed. Similar has happened to other high profile prisoners, the authorities really do not like high profile prisoners being released.
Was in Hull prison with him for 9 months guy is alot cleverer than most people think he is. Unfortunately i cant ever see the government letting him out of prison . The system is a joke
@Ihategoogle-xb2hiGiven a chance? He had countless chances in his life. The safety of the general public outweighs giving the man another chance. He is not even in prison capable to put a stop to his violent frenzy. Should one or more people die during this next 'chance'?! This guy can't follow the simplest rules of society...so no, his lifelong imprisonment was entirely his own fault.

Charlie was one of the nicest people you could meet. He just wanted respect. I had many conversations when I was down the block in Walton hmp. The prison authorities made him out to be a mindless psychopath but he was far from it. Very clever and thoughtful person. He should not have been in prison for so long. He has spent more time in jail than most serial killers! The authorities feared him and that is no excuse to keep him incarcerated for so long. Respect Charlie! Full respect!
I am curious to see his maximums now: How much could he dead-lift, and how much could he bench-press? And what was his testosterone levels? I am surprised that no physiology doctors were interested to measure him, I mean the Universities Athletic departments and Training centers should monitor him closely! Imagine if he had meat someone like Cus Damato (trainer of Mike Tyson) at the age of 22 just a few days before he did the first stupid action that led him to prison initially.
the first part of your comment shows you're a weirdo and totally missed the important points in his story (testosterone levels ? wtf), the last part on the other hand shows you have at least some common sense...

Listen, I'd happily calculate for you the apparent muscle density and mass of Charles, then prove with physics how a man of such stature could possibly do so, but I don't think I'll change your mind. Cheers!
@burybury4206 muscle at utmost density is 0.3kg per square cm. Assuming Charles Bronson has around 6% bodyfat (that is more than he supposedly has) this means that weighing at 114 kilograms measured in 2004 ,his apparent musclemass would be 84% of his bodily weight, easily making up esitimate 91 kilograms. Now a single strand of dense muscle is capable of lift a 0.03 grams exerting 5 kj of energy in the process. In short bicep head there is at least 1500 strands, varying numbers in other muscles. According to this, based upon average muscle structure of a caucasian male, Charles bronson would be able to lift 2,27558 times his own weight, assuming him being fully rested and well fed. This means that he would be able to lift and throw around 246 kilograms. Explosive energy output of a human is around 130% of their Stable energy output, 110 % for women. According to this, punch of Charles, theoretically if supported by all of his muscles in perfect conditions could deliver the equivalent of 280 kilograms concentrated in the area of his fist, accelerated to at least 70 per hour, assuming he knows how to throw a punch, which shows similar effects to being hit by a small car. I believe this firmly illustrates just how dangerous he is as a person, due to nothing but his own hard training.

You should watch the episode of House, with the death row inmate. You can recognise some elements from him with Bronson. He was a kind and calm man, no one understood why he suddenly killed someone for no reason or gain. It turned out he had a rare adrenaline secreting tumor. So he could act completely calm and rational and once in a while, randomly, he could enter into a kind of rage psychosis. And when asked afterwards he couldn't explain why it happened. Perhaps something psychical started it off, but changed him so much he never really developed a rational personality. Same with the inmate, he was a good guy with a tumor, but after being in prison he was definitely not a good guy anymore. Like sending a sane person, accidentally, into a mental institution (like Bronson described) you're not sane anymore after some years. So even. if they discover the mistake years later...you could be send back immediately.
In 2007, Charles Bronson released a fitness book documenting his prison workout routine called Solitary Fitness. It explains how someone can get ripped without workout machines, supplements, expensive sports clothing, or health food. Basically, it explains how someone who has spent most of his life locked in solitary confinement can become an unstoppable juggernaut like himself. According to him, his techniques can give you extreme power. He talks about a technique called the Solitary Cow Punch, which is so strong that he says he’s used it to knock out a cow. He claims his fitness regime also allows him to punch through bulletproof glass, kick down steel doors, lift grown men above his head, and drop 9 meters (30 ft) without injuring himself. He thinks he's SUPERMAN.
I like to think theres a universe out there where he never went to prison an got into something like boxing and became a champ with that drive and strength with an overflow of personality, then went from boxing into a wrestling in the uk and crossed paths with ol jimmy savile, took one look an anihilated him, hid the body and was really our secret savior that we never knew about 😂.
I thought I was a hard man over 15 prison sentences as a teen. Then I was put in a straight jacket and left 3 days in a cell. You wouldn't believe how even a small itch in your eye would send you crazy!
Fun fact, I live in Wakefield in Yorkshire England, it's a City that is also home to one of the most top security prisons in the UK, it also happens to be practically in the City Center. The nickname for this prison is 'monster mansion' and it's where Bronson has spent probably the majoirty of his time inside and it's where he was advised by a couple of guards to take up art as a way of expressing himself. Just top go off on a tangent a little bit, when one of the most phsycopathic prisoners to ever step foot in a prison called Robert Maudsley was being kept in Wakefield prison, they used to keep him in the basement of the prison in a Hannible lector type cell that they had puposefully made, so screws didn't have to go near him, the man was that dangerous. Some people will say he was doing the work of the people, simply because he orginally got sent to prision because a man he got to know showed him images of child he abused, so he killed him. Once he was in Prison he killed a child molester while in Broadmoor, torturimng him for 9 hours. He then got moved to Wakefield and because he didn't want to go he killed 2 people in one day out of frustration, a man that had killed his wife and another nonce, he had planned to kill 7 but no one would go to his cell. A few years later because he was so dangerous to the general population they built a two-cell unit in the basement of Wakefield Prison and if he ever had to leave it would be under the watch of 4 guards. Long story short, back in 1994 this was the cell where they housed Bronson for a period of time after he took the deputy governor Adrian Wallace hostage in Hull. Because he's spent so much time in Wakefield and so many people around the City know guards that work there, that know him, have fot to like him and in turn the local community get to hear about stories about him, so many of the locals have sort of adopted him as one of our own if you like. I was given a few of his pieces of art about 20 years ago by my mates dad that worked there in the tailoring department I think it was, I've bought a few others off friends that have either bought them at shows, or were given them by friends. Who knew alll these years later they'd be worth something and be actual interesting pieves of work, especially compared to some of these highly rated modern artrists, which some of is frankly rubbish. I've got to say, even though traditionally the art isn't brilliant, they do give you a really good window into Bronson's mind and he sure has a vivid sense of imagination and story telling. His art has actually improved massively from the stuff he did in the 90's to stuff 20 years later, most of it is very clever and tells a story as well as being clever images he's created in his head. And Yeah, as quite a few people have already said Bronson is an excellent film, Tom Hardy should have got an Oscar for his performance of Bronson, which is actually bang on, all his little mannerisms are uncanny, as well as the size he had to put on to play him.
Poor guy. There’s got to be something genuinely off to make him like that and it’s a shame we don’t know how to treat it instead of keeping him locked up. Hopefully someday we can give everyone a good free life no matter how eccentric or different they are.
This "documentary" has not even the faintest touch of criminal psychology in it, in fact it's if anything apologetic. Fine if you sympathise, but make that clear from the beginning. People don't start acting violently out of the blue and for no reason. It's highly unlikely he was a "sweet boy" that liked a fight, or robbed a bank for no reason. If you like to fight when you are young, like to beat up people, you do it because it gives you a sense of empowerment, it shows you lack empathy (narcissist or sociopath), you are letting off frustration, you might likely have experienced a lot of violence in the home, as a child. And I can tell you why someone like that would rob a bank: Because he thinks he can, for the thrill, and he hopes to make money from it in the process. Saying "no reason" is about the shallowest answer you can give as an explanation, it's like saying we go to space because space means going up, and we all want to go up in life. Sorry but that's stupidly shallow.
23 dollars. NPD? Loved and changed for his loved ones. Schizophrenia? He had a regular routine of training. Temporomandibular Grind? X-ray from 2006 from wisconsin prison shows that he has no bodily issues. There is no criminal psychology in this, Charles just wanted to beat people up because it was fun for him, in a similar way that a good musician enjoys making music. He is not a tragic figure, nor a sympathetic person, he simply is a person with that specific quirk.
almost every company CEO, leader is a sociopath, and 4% of people are like that, especially in the army that protects you! You make it sound like sociopath is a bad thing, when in reality it was and is a necessary thing for the survival of the species or nations. You look at leaders and all are like that. being a psychopath is a different thing, or a narcissist. I think you may be confusing definitions. I would bet 100% that all of us know a few sociopaths, and to me it seems that the percentages have gone up around us when I take a look and see how self-centred everyone is, willing to step over anyone just to get a bit ahead, but that would fall under narcissistic behaviour more than sociopath. Read a bit, educate and maybe stop throwing terms around. And yes they can start all of a sudden if there is a medical condition or imbalance in the chemistry or brain tumors etc. He was not a good person, and deserves to be in jail. Everyone knows that.

The two idiots chose to further their idiocy and insanity rather than wise up and become better people in their lives. Still, with that being said, at least the latter one was not a war criminal, and the person that literally started the worst war in all of human history to this point.
If you knew a little more about his behaviour leading up to march 2023 parole hearing, you'd know why he was never gonna get released, I knew this in 2022 mate
He was going to the exercise yard alone then refusing to return to his cell on many occasions! Staff now are young and new so they were terrified of a violent confrontation, calling in older more experienced staff who'd usually realise he just wanted a bit extra time out his cell and a cup of tea, still volatile and intimidating behaviour, he's getting on a bit now as well, not the force he used to be

@@g1tr3kt5I'm schizophrenic and spiral out of control mentally every now and then. I was sure, the hospitals would section me if they heard I had voices in my head. So I ran away from home and hid it, while homeless I found drugs quietened the voices, so I quickly became a junkie. I met Charlie in Woodhill(read my comment on main thread, I'm not gonna type it all again) and he was polite, friendly and very intelligent but not well mentally. @Serjo777 I wish I knew. This last time. He had this job selling windows. He was top of his team and bought and paid off a Rav4.
Then one day he decided to break into some snack place and steal all the snacks.
He went wild too. He got in by breaking literally through the roof. So he caused thousands in damage. Then he stole 2 boats to take down the river.
All while having about 10,000 in his account. He could have went and bought any of it he wanted.
I actually wish I could say he was on drugs this time, but he was sober.

What you said did happen and that sort of thing obviously didn't score Charlie any points with the parole committee

Well said.
His art is amazing looking at it now
It's disturbing, at best.
Sorry but that's stupidly shallow.

almost every company CEO, leader is a sociopath, and 4% of people are like that, especially in the army that protects you!
