Putting cement outer side wall is a dumb idea. Basically you need to put Sand and Cotton mix with aahes and need to pound it properly about 3 hour so the mixture of SAND, Cotton, aahes stacked up properly. Thn on the top of the tandoor you need to put A layer of Mud so that it provided a rigidity to the outer layer thn finally you Cover the mud with Sand and cement layer which helps to fill the gap Between Tandoor and outer wall and provide extra protection too .
