- Sadhguru discusses the recently discovered Higgs Boson or "God-particle". He states that people's idea of science is limited to the latest gadgets available in the market. This discovery has at least popularized physics as a quest for knowledge. He talks about four specific dimensions of life as depicted in the yogic lore and where this discovery fits into this spectrum. Telling us about the limitations of using intellect as a tool for exploration, Sadhguru urges one to look within for the source of creation.
Sadhguru points out that science has become all about using life around us to our benefit. This kind of exploitative science should be restricted.

Sadhguru explains that fundamental science was very advanced in ancient India but people never converted it into technology that would exploit nature. In the yogic culture, nature was always seen as 'mother nature'. He concludes that this attitude of exploiting everything for our benefit must be checked or it can become our nemesis.

The "God Particle" label was created by the media, scientists usually dislike the term.
He isnt saying anything negative against Science, He appreciates the urge to know, just not always using things/knowledge to get something out of it to exploit or make a profit or weapon. Like with Einstein for example and the atom bomb. "Science that is driven just by what it can get out of it should be curtailed is what he said. Not all Science, just that point. Just the attitude or "what can I get, what can I get".
A Native American tribal chief once said that the Earth is the source and not a resource. This hit home for me. Science needs to learn this.

What im trying to say and i think are the views of sadhguru. is that ur right technonology is important to us today as it has always been. but please be conscious on how the human technology works.By that i mean the way human nature is. we will never stop and never settle the more u engineer the world to our satisfaction. And our satisfaction will always b the same. we are no happier than the people centuries ago. And its a huge cost to the world around us. just think where will this take us?
he is just saying fundamentaly our thought and quest for development feeds our affluence. or in other words. we will never be happy if we keep trying to seek better things. why cant we just say we already have the BEST. Think of the implifications of this idea. Every living thing on this planet except humans have understood this a quest of geneological sustainability through inner engineering not outer. Outer will ultimately lead to our extinction.

DMT is the actual God agent that we are born with and diminishes as we are programmed by external things in this life. It is our birthright to come into this space of beingness. India has been a great contributor in terms of mathematics and medicine. So has past greek and arab scientists. The fact that it science is evolving doesn't mean that what we have found out in past are untrue. the very fact that we can derive from them predictions and technology which works is the embodiment of the completeness of understanding at a specific scale.

He has not claimed spirit and science are different.Shankaracharyas Om=MCsquared is surely indian philosophy. Indian philosophy contains more than adwaiata vedanta. Sadguru emphasizes on which side are you looking.He hasnt spoken against ultimate unity "just one" he has specifically mentioned that one has to remove layers.I dont know if you watch him other talks, he takes yogic position NOT against vedantic position. You need to do homework on Indian philosophy and spirit.it is more than vedanta

If you listen to greatest scientists i mean the topmost, they will say that they are really humbled by the very nature of the universe and they
understand how little they know about the universe, and that it is very difficult to comprend many things, unless they use
the conciousness to explain the phenomenon. Thats how the String theory and superstring theory came into existence, which were actually discovered
and formulated very long ago by these yogis, by doing meditation.
I think Sadguru has not spoken against technology, He is very clearly emphasizing on how why is the usage of technology is limited to mater only. as Sankara says "All of us including Ishwara make it". But the usage and results of modern technology do not concur with each other. Results are what we can agree,usage is really questionable considering world scenario. I have found him a great supporter of technology in all his speeches. His reservations r only limited to wrong usage and implications.
I have the experience of the mind of God and have no need for material or to dissect what is created - we share this creation and until the scientist can meet me in my dimension - he has no right to put me at risk and the planet

Vivekannda, Tagore were people who were known also for their rationality. THere is no surprise for me to know that they interacted and had philosophical discourse with other rational beings of their time. People will say many thing but this is what Heisenberg said "the smallest units of matter are not physical objects in the ordinary sense; they are forms, ideas which can be expressed unambiguously only in mathematical language."

your views sound valid and logical. agreed. but you stand on false ground claiming something Sadguru has not even bothered or said anything. He has not denied usefulness or utility or requirement of science and scientific empiricism. So you have probably not watched it completely. In his multiple videos he constantly pursues that one has to enquire and seek. So i dont think it is in contrast with anything rational, unless you assume something with prejudice.

Seeing your other comments about how some of the folks who are commenting here aren't open minded, I feel like speaking up. Sadhguru's take on science is flawed. There is no doubt about that whatsoever from his statements. He thinks that it was a waste to spend 6billion pounds on the LHC for something which is a common knowledge who follows the scriptures or the one who practices meditation. That is complete nonsense.
Its a general statement that non-believers like me often get that we aren't open minded. Being open minded isn't the same as being gullible. Infact it is the scientific process which encourages everyone to be open minded. But the fatal difference here is that science imposes yet another constraint on top of it that no matter what speculations one has made it has to be tested against experiments which are free from any human interference and hence truly unbiased.
Vivekannda was also a huge proponent of bringing the same rigour of seeking to spirituality that is applied in modern science but it is still a dream. There were ancient indian scientists like Madhava, aryabhatta, Charaka etc.whose method was same as that of modern science. I dont see this sadhguru talking about their work.. or criticising them...

Sadguru understand the difference between science technology and economics. Science is not the thing to be ridicule here its economics. He is very unhappy of people spending 6billion pounds for this experiment. I haven't heard him being vocal against the ambani's whose personal wealth itself is around 20 billion.
Read science understand it. Anyone anywhere on earth could come to rational conclusions only by employing a philosophy which embodies elements of modern science. This modern science is not the product of only the western civilisation but it has evolved through centuries and through civilisation and has the stamp of time on it. Its a constantly evolving endavour which is making itself better by time.

Im not really trying to argue against science.Science is not a person therefore it has no bias. Im just trying to convey an idea which u kind of pointed out. its what humans are capable of with science and how it will ultimately never advance our wellbeing in life any further.The only way to do that is through yourself no matter what intellegence u have And like u mentioned the wrong people are in charge of such power, not the scientest. Therefore careless humans plus science can b r extinction.

Hawkings Grand design and Carls sagans Cosmos which gives a good history of scientific endavour. For Biology read books by Richard dawkins Jaques MOnad and the likes. PLease do read all these and then you will have a glimpse of what science is and how scientist are understanding nature. THen wer can talk ahead

You can into chose one for the another and above all science is a fundamental right of every humankind. Why thing as a boom, why not use it for the better of humankind. Indian mathematicians were scientist who practiced science just like present day mathematicians. People like sadguru tries hard to rope them in their spiritualistic industry bose would have been incredibly happy at the acheivements of present day science.

Try to listen to Feynman on Scientific Method and that is science. THere is no your science my science. The condenseness of the 'Guru' every moment he utters the word scientist or scientific is amazing. Sadguru showers his condenseness on the chemistry and biological know-how in his examples of a pathetic scientist trying to understand a flower. He cant grasp the beauty of his explanation hence he goes to tarnish it. He and his lot is plain afraid of science.

Sadhguru, Please mentioned the name of Nobel prize winner scientist. Also, Please write down your long story or publish the book about your understanding of cosmos. You are having the idea of grand unification theory, then share it no matter how long or absurd it sounds, what do you fear about ?. Let scientist come up with the mathematical model or may be I will come up with mathematical model. Try to make your talk more specific by filling in the details, rather than just hovering "like there was scientist.. etc". Make prediction about cosmos and help science to expand. (As theory of relativity made predication about black hole.) If you cannot do it, then please don't mix yoga and science just to please the crowd.
