  • New Hope Community Church in Portland, Oregon, hosted Ian Owens' debut concert as bass singer for Ernie Haase & Signature Sound on January 21, 2011. And what a concert it was! Ian has a few ropes to learn, but never fear, EH&SS fans--the group will be just fine with Ian.
The three songs in this capture are "Old-Fashioned Love",
"Swinging on the Golden Gate", and "Get Away Jordan".
This lineup consists of tenor and founding member Ernie Haase, Devin McGlamery (lead), Doug Anderson (baritone), and Ian Owens (bass).

This song was uploaded 5yrs ago, I happened to stumble across it today, I'm so glad I did, it truly blessed me at a hard time in my life.....thank you psalmsofpraise for uploading it and thank you utube for leaving it up, but most of all I thank God for singers who sing with the joy of the Lord in the their soul. It is sort of like what Vestal Goodman said once: "I pray I never get so dignified I miss the blessing". : )

What I love is how Ernie looks like he is total uppity; he is totally there for the songs rather it be comedy or movements. I would have never thought this guy would have such a great personality.
I hope he and the members of his band will have a very productive life and the Lord always bless the bank and their lives.

I can remember when David Phelps left Bill Gaither's Vocal Band, I was so unhappy, then Mark, and the list goes on, BUT WAIT, each new group was GOOD. Then David came back, for how long ? Only God and David know that. What I am saying. God has given this Special Talent to a lot of His Children. So Thank You Ernie Haase for going on and giving these new singers a chance to lift our Spirit in song Praising Our Lord. We are a part of the Family of God. I think there is a song with that title. LOL As Brothers and Sisters in the Lord let us Pray for these Vocal Gospel Bands. I have been a fan of Ernie Haase for a lot of years, when he sang with The Cathedrals. When The Cathedrals Retired, George Younce ( George Younce was one of the best Bass Singers I have ever heard, George is with the Lord now, singing in that Great Choir in Heaven. Now that is one Vocal Group I want to be a part of.
) George encouraged Ernie to go on with the gift God had given him, to keep on singing to start his own vocal band. Thank You again Ernie Haase for Spreading the Good News of Our Lord with MUSIC.

I saw Ernie and group several months after this taping. Yes, I liked Ryan, but his stage presence was lacking. Tim was great too. But seeing them all NOW!! Well, WOW! For you critics out there, take another look and listen. Ernie will NEVER allow this group to be anything less than as close to perfect as possible! Ian HAS filled the shoes, and his voice is awe inspiring. This video doesn't do him justice-- 3 days practice-- c'mon folks! Give the guy a break! ENSS will always be top notch in my

LOL!!! this is good. And please quit picking on Ernie and the group for a new singer coming. God will use each one for HIS purpose. This group always has and will always be my favorite cause they sing what they believe. And who they are on stage is who they are in person. :)

For those who keep saying things like...with some voice lessons, etc...Hey, I loved Tim too and still do, BUT...Ian is not some newcomer to singing...before EHSS, he was the second bass in history for The Imperials for 8 yrs, replacing the original, Armond Morales. What will take time is for a new member to seamlessly blend into a group that has been together for a while, and I think you will see a clear difference after he is in the studio with them for the first time.

@capefearcolt I've always like Tim Duncan, but I was really surprised by the Tribute video. Tim was struggling and obviously not up to par. Signature Sound will be around for a long time.

I loved Tim Duncan too......it was always surprising to hear such a big voice from such a little guy. But Ian is very good too and the more I listen to their latest c.d., the more I like him. Why did Tim leave the group anyway? I heard it was for health reasons, but what is wrong with him?

maryaha: Tim surprisingly developed High Blood Pressure at a very young age and suffered a Stroke. It may even have been multipul strokes. All the travel got to him I think, so much time on the road! His wife and sons needed him at home also. He is now in Texas, singing with Canton Junction, so is Ryan Seaton and I believe Roy Webb was playing back up for them at one time. They all move around I can't keep up with them. We all need to take advantage when we love a sound and make an effort to go and enjoy a Quartet or favorit Trio while they are all still together!

Tim Duncan left some big shoes to fill, but to be fair, Ian Owen has a great Bass
voice. He isn't as smooth as Timmy but that will come in time.. Give him a fair break. I think he's done very well for his first time out with these guys.

@MrsKravitz4u1 I can say Ian's voice sounds like he's naturally lower than Tim's. Tim seemed to drop into fry a lot, but Ian doesn't seem to do that any.

You know who should have replaced him? geroge younce jr. No joke. With some vocal training I'm sure he could do it. he's got a good voice!

way to many attempts at Ernie trying to be funny, which he is not; they should try
to praise and uplift the Lord instead of all the comedy . I enjoy their music but
not all the clowning around; they should stick to just singing and praising the Lord
