VGT is my home field. I fly a Cirrus SR22T. Victor airways? Yikes. Forget the IFR flight plan on clear days. Just fly VFR with departure vectors and flight following. And in Vegas request a Bravo clearance after you get handed over to McCarran. You flew a ton of extra miles with those IFR fixes.

Speedo Mars you are correct, i do fly VFR normally or terminate IFR after PMD. This was also some experience for me as I am not flying to much so wanted to build time and IFR real world. I agree a lot easier with VFR and shorter. I do like IFR in SoCal such as TEC routes as I don’t have to worry so much about traffic and busting Bravo. Thanks again for your feedback, hope to see you around KVGT.

@@trueblueflying Also, I am starting to video flights too. I posted two new ones of my first vid efforts using my new Hero 9 camera. This is a link to a landing at VGT I did last week. th-cam.com/video/UrvISubedGs/w-d-xo.html

On this flight I received amended arrival into Las Vegas, essentially all vectors and visual approach the same as you would get if you were VFR. Unfortunately not captured but was visual VFR descent to remain west of the I-15.
