I use to race as a kid for Norms Donner ski ranch back in the early 80's , hes amazing his birthday is new years eve he will be 90🎉🎉 wish i could post cute pics on here i just took him up to kidd lake w my dogs we grilled burgers 🍔 hes an amazing person amd am proud to call him my friend. I grew up in the hotel that you see at the 3:40 ish mark , soda springs is amazing. We dont have any snow yet ,guess mither nature is gonna take it easy on us this year😅

I was going over Donner Pass driving my semi all last winter with the record amount of snowfall and would just be amazed at the snow plows and how good they are at their job!!
Definitely some of the best in the world. They have to be to try and keep that interstate open. Tough drive especially for drivers who don’t have much experience in winter conditions.
I was Born in San Bernardino, California but in 1969 Big Bear Got a Snowfall of what They Experienced last Winter, well It Came a Huge Rainfall that like this Young Man talked about. Well the Water Breached the Big Bear Lake Dam overflowing down the Mountains into the Santa Ana River overflowing into the Towns and Cities of Southern, California. They named The Inland Empire Flood of 1969. My Mother was From Tennessee so she wanted out of California so we moved to Michigan to work for GM.
my father n law was Inyo county road commissioner in 1952--when Dave Macoy opened Mammoth ski area in '52 Mono county did not have one snow plow--Dave asked John to send a snow plow now and then to plow the road to his ski area--John just gave him a snow plow and told him to keep it for the winter

Great report Johnathan. I'M guessing you did this report last winter during the record snowfall on Donner Pass. Its men like him that built this great country, He looks like he is in good shape and health for his age. It takes a special kind of person to live up there all these years. Plus, it'd be a tight squeeze in that skidsteer😳 He's a real character and really knows what he's talking about. Cool guy. One question I'd ask him is if he uses a backup camera and if so, how's he keep the lens clear of snow mist. Skid steers are terrible for reversing because you can't see what you're doing in reverse. I didn't see mirrors but you can get them. They'd have to be heated of course like they use on tractor trucks.
It’s wild up in the Sierra. Washington state gets some crazy totals too. I want to check out Japan someday. It’s like a different planet when there is this much snow
His main purpose is to clear drive ways and parking lots so it fits for those jobs. You see the much larger machines working on the roads and highways. And that train blower rarely comes out…only during the snowiest of winters.
