Wow! Mr.Cony is the most amazing artist I’ve ever seen! Thanks so much for sharing his beautiful work. I am seventy years old and have always loved painting, his work is , by far, the most wonderful I have ever seen!
Wow....I don't know enough superlatives to give this work the credit it deserves! Amazing is an understatement for sure. Thank you so much Graham and Paul for a very entertaining 24 minutes.
I respect Paul Coney for his professionalism and tremendous skill he shows in each piece he created. He’s also very kind to support a rural art show by being there and letting his masterpieces hanging on our humble little theatre (if you remember Onewhero, Paul-God bless you) walls that I just couldn’t take my eyes off! I’ve learned a lot more today, Graeme, thank you for this feature of one of our greatest artists in NZ. Arohanui.-E.J
WOW what breathtakingly beautiful works of art, and Paul seems like a lovely man. I love the show and have been watching from the very beginning and the talent just grows and grows, colour in your life does an amazing job and I always look forward to each new episode. Thank you Paul for sharing your amazing talent it was a pleasure to watch you work. Cheers Mel.
Graeme thank you very much for introducing this wonderful artist. I do much enjoyed watching his session and learned a lot within the half hour. Thank you 🙏 both. From Glasgow Scotland 🏴
Thanks so much, Maysoon AlDooriaines for your kind words and interest. My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Glasgow a year or so ago and spent a wonderful afternoon wandering around Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum agog at the masterpieces hanging there 😊😁
Probably the best episode ever. Paul, Sir, your work is on another level completely. Stunning work. I learned a lot about your process and I've never seen the graduated sky technique before. It's motivated me to do some more oils. Well done to the team, especially Graeme, for putting this brilliant programme together.
Thank you Pete, yes we are travelling the world doing our best to put all of this together and bring you guys the best people we can. You would be doing me a great favour if you could tell as many folks as you can what we are doing that would help us, thanks again, Graeme
Gosh, thank you Pete, that's quite a compliment and glad it inspired you, Oil is such a friendly medium I find, although watercolour still has it's fascination !😊😁😊
What a blessing to' see a master artist paint. I am so blown away by his work. I hope I can paint at least close to this. I always use acrylics and this has inspired me to use oils. Thank you so much.
Gosh, thank you Christine, you will find Oil to be an incredibly friendly and flexible medium, just accustom yourself to it an you will love it. Use Odourless solvent rather than Turps and a fastdrying medium like Liquin and you will be away !!😊😁😊
@@paulconey6537 Oh thank you so much Paul. I have my art on my profile. I am thrilled to hear from you. I have new oils my daughter bought me. I will see about the Liquin. Hope you see my art. Thank you again. Bless you
@@paulconey6537 Thanks again Paul. I have to get control of the paint so it isn't too thick. Dip in Linseed oil I guess. I am use to more flowy acrylic ones. Anyway, you are so kind. and I just love your art so much. Your flower are the best!!
You certainly have shown many wonderful scenic shots of just some of the wonderful moments captured within this video. Life should be full of many magical snapshots like this. A tremendous gift to each of us was presented from each of you! Thank you Paul ; and Graeme from Philadelphia, Pa. U.S.A . All best wishes.
Thank you Edwin for your interest, comments and kind words, they are much appreciated and our best wishes to you and yours, glad you enjoyed the video ! 😊😁😊
Hi Paul, I follow your work on Instagram and was thrilled to see you on this brilliant show. Thanks to Graeme for having you on. Thanks also Paul for all the wonderful tips, especially the 'tooth' technique. How clever! Delighted to have 'met ' you at last as I think you deserve every success and may you continue your work for a long time to come.
Wow, stunning work, such detail and the light that you capture in your pictures it is truly astounding. Love your tip for blending sky's, will definitely give that a go. Thanks for sharing your art and techniques, pure pleasure to watch. I wish you all the best for your future :)
stunning, what do you use to sketch it out with first...I thought it was pencil but thought you couldn't use pencil under oil painting cause it will show through?
Hi Scott A, with a straight run at it, I probably could just about finish something like this in one very long day, but with the filming and everything taking up most of the day, it would have been impossible to complete fully on that day, so I prepared a progression canvas as well that we could change to at a certain point to ease the time pressure. Both Graeme and the Editor Sophia did an incredible job to work the whole days filming and painting into 24.00 minutes 😊😁👍Thank you for your kind comments, appreciation and interest 😊👌
That's a very good question Dave, and the answer is that although I love painting my children especially and other figures sometimes of course, I sell my work through galleries that deal with the public in general and people love things that they know or recognise. If I painted my children/figures with their faces showing properly, they wouldnt be someone else's little grandchild or niece/nephew or perhaps wife/husband that they can see. If you look at some of the commissions I've done specifically for people of their families, you will see that the figures are recognisable face on as those family members, the one called Greg's Family on the CIYL show is a good example 😊 Thanks for your comments and interest😁
THE BEST! ID LOVE YOU TO DO ONE WITH OIL. OIL BRINGS PAINTING INYO MORE REALISTIC LOOK. ACRYLIC GIVES THAT CARTOONISH LOOK FOR SOME REASON. I COULD NEVER DO ACRYLIC :(
Thank you for comments, Im not sure if you are aware this is an oil which I am using I dont paint in acrylic as an opaque and far prefer the richness oil paintings on canvas give.
I have watched this video yet again. I loved the sky technique. I thank you Paul.
Thank you Caron !😊

Hi Christine, thanks, use Liquin medium instead of Linseed Oil or your painting will take forever to dry, Liquin helps the paint flow aswell 😊
What amazing details in the flowers absolutely stunning dancing with colour, breathtaking, sawtooth technique is great.

His paintings are remarkable. Did he complete this in one day?

One of the most informative episodes and fascinating to watch. Could you lost the colours you used i hear a couple but struggle with skin tone. Thanks
List not lost lol
(this is from Li, Not dave). You truly are a massively gifted artist. But why do you actually always paint everyone from behind? Curious. Thanks. :)

Christina they are oil and his old ones were watercolours
Perhaps Christina meant to say that Paul's painting are as cartoonish as acrilics paints, and she thought they were acrylics. Just my guess. 🤔
Does it sound like he's saying leek instead of leg to anyone else?
its the New Zealand accent, LOL
Wonderful
