  • The History of Brickworld ... Brickworld Chicago 2023 is just a few months away, and as someone that's been attending the convention on and off since 2010 I thought it'd be fun to take a look at the history of the greatest LEGO convention. Enjoy!

    Yooooo, fantastic video richie! Super professional and engaging!
    Absolutely love a bunch of the images you used, like the Riddler torso rather than a question mark, the Will Smith slap in LEGO rather than just a basic slapping gif, and the minions brickheadz for the word "despicable" Really keeping the video fresh and creative!
    Also, REALLY great point about how in late January as kids go back to school and Christmas season is over, LEGO's sales most likely go down, so they use the fear of missing out to drive up sales. I would have NEVER thought abt that, but it makes so much sense!
    Can't wait for your next video!!

      @@OurToyWorld we probably won’t be there this year. With my 5 year old , I don’t think she would have the attention span to keep her entertained for a few hours. Maybe next year.

    Back in 2014ish when I was a kid I remember always wanting to go to brickfair (at the time THAT is / was the biggest and best Lego convention everyone wanted to go to). I went in 2014 and 2015 and as an 8th grader, the second year I went there I actually displayed MOCs and stuff and remember getting a small Lego gumball machine put on my moc by the staff (the theme that year was "sweet escape", the Lego movie had released the year before, so I built a full moc of the Lego coffee shop from the movie, with custom stickers, full detail as seen in the background in the movie (including custom painted pieces since the movie had pieces in colors that didn't exist). I was so proud of that moc. Then I remember looking back at video walkthroughs of the convention and saw so many people just skip over the table me and my siblings were at and I was a bit bummed. I didn't take any pictures of the moc so it's almost like it's lost to time (maybe, I'm sure there are video walkthroughs that DO show it, but I haven't seen it.

    Honestly this is lego history i know nothing about so coooool!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 New stuff to learn 😂
    Wow… some lugs only show their stuff off once a year?? Our lug does at the least like 5 events a year!!!! 😂

    • @OurToyWorld
      @OurToyWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the support, Yolo! I think most LUGs put on a couple events a year but from what I've heard from different LUG members you must put on at least one show. That might have changed though, and also, they might have given me the wrong information too lol

  • @Maniac4Bricks
    @Maniac4Bricks ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Correct, LUGs need to display at a public show each year to retain their status

    • @OurToyWorld
      @OurToyWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for confirming this, Joey. Do you know how many events they have to put on? I've heard the minimum is one from some people, but I know a lot of LUGs put on 3 to 4.

    • @Maniac4Bricks
      @Maniac4Bricks ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OurToyWorld I would have to check based on LUGs I've been part of. Hope I can get back to you soon.
